Yeah, just 5 weeks away...I'll be working on my Titan on PC and complete playthroughs of Wolfenstein and Mario at least plus whatever else I decide to pick up between now and then (in the mood for a WWII campaign but still not quite sure on that one but will likely get Battlefront for the SP and to mess around a bit in PvP). Oh, and the 1.8 Update for The Division, going to be a busy month indeed.

Osiris seems to be cut content from D1.
The scope of their design for the destiny franchise was massive, we will continue to see stuff from their original concept art show up I'd bet.

Haha, Jade Rabbit in the trailer. No wonder they didn't feel bad about keeping it exclusive in D1 for so long, they'll just put it in D2. I hope it's better in this game but who am I kidding?

So i'm on PC, no experience with the first game, leveled my first character to 20 and hit the 265 softcap

and I have some minor complaints about things....that maybe vets can explain why these things are the way they are?
  1. No map chat, even in social spaces like farm/new tower.
  2. No in-game clan chat, which IMO is an especially egregious omission on PC. Have to use a browser for bungie.net official clan chat or some 3rd party resource (typically discord)
  3. Can't talk to opponents in PvP, can't even say GG to your opponent. Yeah toxicity and all that, make it opt-in then.
  4. No in-game LFG tool to find people to join your fireteam. This, along with points 1, 2, 3 contributes a lot to the socially empty feel of the game.
  5. Can't choose a particular strike or Crucible mode to play. I don't like Supremacy at all, why do I have to queue for it, even in the casual playlist where I want to have fun.
  6. Can't view challenges before engaging in that activity
  7. Earning glimmer (or something else, but I've noticed it most often with glimmer) causes the challenge display to be delayed when opening the guide.
  8. Can't see your fireteam in the map.

Would this game (on PC) still be fun in shorter sessions? Right now I'm lucky to play an hour in one sitting, usually more like 20 to 30 minutes. I've been liking Warframe lately since you can boot that game up and get into a quest in no time and also pausing helps me too.

It's perfect for short sessions while you're doing the campaign. Hop for an hour, do an adventure and/or mission, maybe poke around the farm, repeat daily. You'll probably get a good two or three weeks out of the game just doing that. Then when end game kicks in you can do a strike or two a day.

I can't speak to most of these, but 5 and 6 are the real tragedies, because these were both in D1: For point 5, you used to be able to go from the orbit screen to the planet and pick a strike *or* go into the strike playlist, and while the playlist usually got you more loot, picking an individual strike was still possible. And for point 6, challenges used to be a tab off the character screen...and starting with TTK there was a whole quest system that I really miss.

I saw a Destiny streamer yesterday with something like 240 light.
And an Antiope.

RNG can eat one. Pretty sure it's broke.
If anyone needs Prestige Nightfall on PS4 try to get it before reset. This Nightfall is a cakewalk compared to some others.

My RNG luck since moving to PC has been complete crap. Exotic dupes for days and I'm stuck at the sub-265 cap because I couldn't land a helmet or chest from token unload.

So I shouldn't mention that it was the first legendary I got when I was still lvl 17 before finishing the game? I never even used it because I was ranking up so quickly at that time. I keep reading about how awesome it is, guess I should try it out. :D

Just watched the trailer and I gotta say it looks awesome! Love the Vex, Osiris looks sweet, and now I'm just hoping we get to see Saint-14. Dec 5th is also sooner than I expected, so that's great. Also, hopefully we get a new raid with this. Would love another Vex raid. All around good trailer, got me pumped for some new content!

So I just hit 20 over the weekend. Sitting at 217 power now.

What's my best course of action now? Just repeat strikes until I hit 230 and then start doing Nightfall?

I could cross 200 Gunsmith levels without that thing. No Mananan or Orpheus Rig yet either.

I did manage to clear prestige nightfall with 2:14 left on the clock though. Practice makes perfect :F
Good thing I'm not playing for loot. Although, Orpheus Rig would be great for my utterly useless Hunter.

You can keep repeating Public Events until you hit 265, but if that gets boring sprinkle in other activities like strikes and whatnot. Also doing patrols at the same time gets you tokens for gear from planet vendors.

Try to postpone the Nightfall as much as possible, but definitely attempt to clear it before each weekly reset if that's at all possible for you.

Doing (heroic) public events is the quicker way to level, but running strikes will get you the same thing, just a bit slower.

I would recommend trying to run the NF today as reset is tomorrow, so you'll get rewards today for completing your milestone & you'll get a whole new set of milestones tomorrow.

If you're trying to level as fast as possible, run heroic public events until you hit 260/265, THEN do your milestones. Milestone rewards will scale up with your level, while all other loot (aside from exotics) will drop a few levels below your PL once you get past 265. John has some great leveling guides in the OP if you're interested.

If you don't care about leveling as fast as possible, do what looks fun. You will have tons of opportunities to level up going forward, so don't stress or worry about what you're doing. Also, keep in mind you CANT mess anything up, so have fun.
