So, there's this game that just popped into my head, but I don't remember too much details
It's like this fighting(boxing?) game, that for each opponent you defeated, you advance to the next floor. (you're at a building starting from the bottom)
(there may or may not be some food like hamburgers that the audience throw at you to recover some health)

I believe I played this game on the Sega Genesis, and tried to google it, but couldn't find anything

Just remembered some more, just gonna dump them here in case I forget about them

A Call of Duty game. One of the zombies maps starts out in an office-looking area indoors, after which you take an elevator which leads you to a laboratory of sorts.

A Halo game. Don't remember anything except that there's one level that is in an open field during the night. There was either a bridge you could cross or a large building in the area, don't know

A game on Xbox (360?) with one particular sequence where you have to approach an area by using cover, because you're constantly being shot at. I think you can push wooden crates around for cover, and you would die pretty quickly and start over.

A point-and-click game where you have to rescue turtles because they're missing or something. Definitely late 90s to early 00s, it looks like something Humongous would make. There's one sequence where you have to help a crocodile(?) with rhyming.

A Maya the Bee game on PC where you have to prepare a surprise party for either Maya or Willy, don't remember. Also point-and-click.

A PC game for the youngest audience. I think it's divided in two parts, one is where you learn letters by showing various animations of things starting with that letter. The other part is where you just color in the screen or something, I never played that one much.

Go nuts, and thanks in advance :)

Okay, an Atari 5200 game that for some reason I think is called 'Defender' but it's nothing like defender.

You play a tank trying to shoot bases at the top of the screen. Between you is a maze and a series of other tanks trying to kill you. At the bottom of the screen you have 4 blocks of cover that your enemy tanks can shoot through.

I think I might also mixing games but if anyone can help clear up what I'm talking about - I'll be most grateful and will say 'thank you'.

1. The Black Ops Zombies map "FIVE".

2. Sounds like either Two Betrayals from Halo: Combat Evolved, or Nightfall from Halo: Reach.

I don't know the rest.

this is a really hard case, since i don't remember much from that game.

it was a game on a demo dics for the Ps1 (i think Tomb Raider, medievil, Tekken were also in that disc or maybe from other discs - its just that those are the other games that i remember playing as a demo)

it was a 2D plattformer, and there was a level on a wodden plattform...there was a pig that you could ride? i don't know.
Thats all i know ^^

I recall a few key details of this game so maybe it'll ring a bell for someone.
  • 90's PC title (fairly certain it didn't appear on consoles).
  • 3rd person adventure with what I *think* were prerendered backgrounds.
  • You could change your mood between amiable and douche with a keystroke for interactions with NPCs. Usually ended with me being shot in the face.
  • At some point near the beginning you contract a disease and are essentially ostracized by the order you belong to. Against the clock, you're tasked with finding a cure.
Anyone have any ideas?

The only Atari 5200 game with tanks in it is countermeasure, but doesn't really fit .
Maybe a 2600 game ?
Your description sounds like a mix of Combat, Phantom Tank (aka Tanks, but no Tanks) and space invaders:P

Nintendo game where you jump super high. I think the protagonist is a Samurai or ninja. It is not Legend of Kage. Neighbor loaned it to me when I was four or five and I'm in my thirties so my memory beyond that description is nonexistent.

I remember this one game where you played as a yellow talking tank that cursed a lot. You just went around killing other tanks, I think.

I think it was for the Nintendo 64, and PlayStation 1/2

Thank you for your help! I searched for Phantom Tank and found a screenshot for Phantom Panzer II, which is the game I grew up with. I was indeed mixing up multiple titles.

PSX game, JRPG. One of the missions (I think it's near the beginning) has you and an ally (both men) either attacking a prison with the intent to get someone out, or breaking out after being imprisoned (in which case, I believe it was a princess). My memory is super spotty, because the night I played it, I was unable to sleep and was going positively delirious while playing a bunch of my friend's games.

Fantasy theme, heroes and guards using swords and possibly magic. Almost certainly not a Final Fantasy game, but it might be a Square title. Considering the dearth of fantasy JRPGs on PSX, I don't expect this to be an easy one, but if folks can toss me some titles I'd appreciate being able to revisit this one if it's worth my time.

I think you mean the opposite of a dearth... ;)

Anyway, I think you might be thinking of Wild ARMs 2?
Indeed I did mean the opposite. That's what I get for staying up so late.

And looking at gameplay of WA2, probably not. This was a classic "grimy dungeon with barred cells" kind of prison, and a good 30-60 minutes is spent there in the game's opening hours. But still, this does look pretty neat.

I have a vauge memory about a prison break in Legend of Dragoon, but not sure how early in the game it was (or if I even remember correctly). Do you remember anything else like the gameplay och some character.

What were those 2 class-based scifi FPS's that had a campaign sort of like Titanfall 1 or Brink where the missions happened in multiplayer maps and you spawned in dropping from orbit ODST style? I think the second one had a traditional campaign and introduced a funding mechanic that awarded you in the match for completing objectives and there was some sort of in-match shop for vehicles or powerups. I played the multiplayer a bit and had completely forgotten its existence until just now when I was watching someone playing PUBG and it reminded me of that first person (they changed it to third person for the sequel) orbital drop and thought about how cool that game would be as a Battle Royale.

Here's a challenge for you folks.

I remember back in the days of the BBC Micro playing a game that was a simulation of the power grid in the UK, so for example you had to decide how much power each power station would generate and then the game would simulate the demand etcetera.

I remember it had line drawings of parts of the British coastline (corresponding to where the power stations were).

It might not have been a commercial release, it might have been in one of the magazines of the time (e.g. The Micro User or similar).

It would've been either late 1980s or early 1990s.

Any ideas?

EDIT: actually answering my own question after looking at magazine cover games:

tmu06-04.jpg

It was in The Micro User volume 6 issue 4 and was called Power Grid, you could type it in or if you were a fancy-pants subscriber you'd get it on cover tape or disk.

I'm trying to remember the name of a game that was kickstarted a few years ago and I'm not sure if it has ever come out. It's an arcade style racing game with drifting. I know it's not "90's Arcade Racer" or "Power Drive 2000".

Can anyone help me remember the name of this goddamn PowerPC MAC game from the early to mid-90s where you controlled a dude that was a smiley face moving tile by tile through a series of maze-esque "levels" with obstacles like conveyers and key blocks and one-way-passwalls and stuff. Black and white, came with a level editor, I've been scouring the internet for this tonight and can't find any trace of it

There was a cheap 2D fantasy adventure sidescrolling game that my dad used to play on the pc, circa 1995 or 96.

I don' remember much except the protagonist was some blonde guy, who could use magic, may have had a staff. Any way, you would shoot magic at random creatures that would attack you, flying harpeys and what not. The graphics of the game looked older than most 95 game, so it may he from the early 90s. My dad thinks 'quest' was somewhere in the title, but I can't find anything for the life of me.

Got a game for you all now.

I just saw a feature on a tv show where they were presenting upcoming games for this year and there was one I've never seen before and I didn't catch the name of the game.

-It's unreleased, but set to be released 2018
-First Person, might be a walking simulator, didn't see any kind of action scenes in the trailer
-The town reminded a bit of Bioshock Infinite.
-The people all wore masks/heavy makeup
-There were a rainbow on the streets
-You could see the main character (in First Person) waving at people and bite an apple
-They said on the TV show that the game looked Terry Gilliam-esque
-There were a lot of looking through shop windows in the trailer

This I might missheard:

-I think they said that the theme of the game was about the fake personality of perfect happiness people show eachother when in fact they might be really sad on the inside

I've been trying to identify a game my neighbours had growing up in the 90s. Not sure what console it was on although I'm fairly certain that it wasn't a Nintendo system. I think it was a fighting game, although it might have been a beat em up. Only thing I can really remember is a short (bald?) character who wore green (I think) and was fairly weak but maybe once a fight/round could grow large and become really powerful. I think it might have been triggered automatically when his health fell to a certain level. Not sure if I've made the whole thing up in my mind though

Splatterhouse 2 or 3 could also be an option too.

Is it a polygonal fighter? There's a PS1 game called Star Gladiator that has a character that grows big. He's bald but doesn't wear green.

I never heard of this game, but I like beat 'em ups and skimmed through your clip. Lol, how in the world did the game get released in the U.S. without edits to the ending (@34:15 mark)?

You're likely referring to the character Tung Fu Rue of Fatal Fury:
