As much is it Nintendo. I don't think it will happens in this dimension. Maybe on PC too? But I don't see him develop something outside the console Sony.
The SotC Remake makes much more sense if SotC2 is in development. Interesting.
The Last Colossus
You're right, they share some simalarities but the more I look at it the less I think they're related. It's not the same alter, different design and different number of steps up...
It could just be something they produced to advertise the remake but i doubt it as there are too many differences.
I'm guessing the creature on the right-hand side is one of the boar-like monsters teased back last January? There's notably a robot figure in the upper right of this concept art with a detached head, too.
That doesn't really mean that, necessarily. Plus, Shu Yoshida has been saying they'd love to work again with Ueda, and I believe that some weeks ago there was a Twitter image of genDesign's people (Ueda included, I think) with SIE Japan people. They are teasing it on the genDESIGN webstite, so I guess they own the IP.
Nico, The last of Colossus
They could always do spiritual sequal instead like dark souls if ueda want to make multiplatform sotc2Looks like the upper body is huge compared to the size of its legs (at least from that angle of a cropped shot)... kids this is why you don't skip leg day.
Also, it's highly unlikely that it's a direct sequel to any of their previous release; the studio have no history of that.
EDIT: Just realized that it's an independent studio and as such if the game is multiplatform, I don't see Sony giving them the rights to one of their IP for multiplat proliferation.
So I can play it on my switch :)
Well that would be the same by Sony I guess judging by the time the last guardian took to come out, this would come for ps6 ?? ;-)I am pretty sure your Switch will be abandoned by Nintendo by the time this game comes out :-)
I meant that with the exception of the Wii, Nintendo barely supports their home consoles past 4, maybe 5 years. If this game were to come out in 2024... do the math :-)Well that would be the same by Sony I guess judging by the time the last guardian took to come out, this would come for ps6 ?? ;-)
He has delivered three masterpieces so I think he has more than earned a publisher's trustMaybe they didn't want to give him those things anymore. It's not like he has a stellar record of delivering.
Kojima, Miyazaki, and now Ueda -- that feeling if getting cock teased by your three favorite game makers at the same time. :-/
I thought Ueda wasn't making a game? Thought he checked out after Last Guardian?
That doesn't really mean that, necessarily. Plus, Shu Yoshida has been saying they'd love to work again with Ueda, and I believe that some weeks ago there was a Twitter image of genDesign's people (Ueda included, I think) with SIE Japan people.
They did, once. I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some other publisher now and is going multiplatform. He is independent now, after all.
Ueda has a long history with Sony and was a part of Yoshida's team when he first started working for Sony. He has a very good relationship with them from what we have heard from both sides and let's bed blunt here, what other publisher would give Ueda the kind of free reign and leeway with a game like TLG other than Sony did?
A long history indeed. Let's be even blunter, Sony would have to be insane to Ueda any more cash and resources after dealing with TLG's development. Nevermind free reign. I think he broke from Sony for a reason.
Sony might still fund his next project, who knows with these people. They inexplicably greenlit Knack 2.
lol...came here to post this.
From talking about how Ico came about to the fact that music influences a lot of Ueda's work, the really interesting comments came about when discussing his next game.
I created the more open world of Shadow because Icowas an adventure game set in such a small space - and I spent four years in that closed space, so I wanted to go out into something more open.
I cannot talk about the details [of my next project] but... Shadow came out of the experience with Ico, [going] from a closed world to open world. When I completed Shadow, there was a moment where I wondered if I wanted to go around an open world again, and maybe I should go back to a more closed space, spending a more intimate time with something in that space. That became the starting point for The Last Guardian.
Now I've completed The Last Guardian and spent so many years in that game, maybe I may go back to the Shadow-type environment.
