I don't care if this is exclusive or multi, I just need a new Ueda game.

Imagine this announced with DMC5 this year.

Looks like the upper body is huge compared to the size of its legs (at least from that angle of a cropped shot)... kids this is why you don't skip leg day.

Also, it's highly unlikely that it's a direct sequel to any of their previous release; the studio have no history of that.

EDIT: Just realized that it's an independent studio and as such if the game is multiplatform, I don't see Sony giving them the rights to one of their IP for multiplat proliferation.

Looks to me that it may be possible if you play the monster.
So like The Last Guardian but your the creature, but with Ico elements thrown in.

I'm guessing the creature on the right-hand side is one of the boar-like monsters teased back last January? There's notably a robot figure in the upper right of this concept art with a detached head, too.

Yeah looks like it could be.

So we have guy with sword, climbing on back of Gannon-like giant. Some sort of robot. And some middle-aged big guy with a head band or some such.

How many decades am I going to have to wait for this game? How many years of incessant Y2Kev trolling will I have to endure?!

They are teasing it on the genDESIGN webstite, so I guess they own the IP.
That doesn't really mean that, necessarily. Plus, Shu Yoshida has been saying they'd love to work again with Ueda, and I believe that some weeks ago there was a Twitter image of genDesign's people (Ueda included, I think) with SIE Japan people.

They could always do spiritual sequal instead like dark souls if ueda want to make multiplatform sotc2

Kojima, Miyazaki, and now Ueda -- that feeling if getting cock teased by your three favorite game makers at the same time. :-/

I thought Ueda wasn't making a game? Thought he checked out after Last Guardian?

Nah he said videogames are the only medium that can do his vision justice.

Ueda out for drinks with Toyama (Silent Hill, Siren, Gravity Rush), Mizuguchi (Rez) and several SIEJ producers:

They did, once. I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some other publisher now and is going multiplatform. He is independent now, after all.

Ueda has a long history with Sony and was a part of Yoshida's team when he first started working for Sony. He has a very good relationship with them from what we have heard from both sides and let's bed blunt here, what other publisher would give Ueda the kind of free reign and leeway with a game like TLG other than Sony did?

Call me irrational, but I'm getting hyped for E3 now because of this.

The promise of a new Ueda game is just too big a deal not to get swept up in excitement.

A long history indeed. Let's be even blunter, Sony would have to be insane to Ueda any more cash and resources after dealing with TLG's development. Nevermind free reign. I think he broke from Sony for a reason.

Sony might still fund his next project, who knows with these people. They inexplicably greenlit Knack 2.

Female protagonist!? This would be cool to see.

I don't know what the creature on the right is, but it kinda makes me slightly uncomfortable.

He is one of the most prestigious developers out there and is respected across time industry. He isn't making AAA blockbusters that sell 5 million plus copies though that would be awesome one day. He is makes the art house style games that help diversify Sony's line up and give them something no one else in the industry has, one of the few auetur developers. It's most likely much the reason they went after Kojima and rolled out the red carpet for him.

lol at ppl thinking Ueda's next game is going to be published by anyone other than Sony. anyway

Fumito Ueda Talks About How His Next Game Might Use The Open World Setup In 'Shadow Of The Colossus'
From talking about how Ico came about to the fact that music influences a lot of Ueda's work, the really interesting comments came about when discussing his next game.

I created the more open world of Shadow because Icowas an adventure game set in such a small space - and I spent four years in that closed space, so I wanted to go out into something more open.

I cannot talk about the details [of my next project] but... Shadow came out of the experience with Ico, [going] from a closed world to open world. When I completed Shadow, there was a moment where I wondered if I wanted to go around an open world again, and maybe I should go back to a more closed space, spending a more intimate time with something in that space. That became the starting point for The Last Guardian.

Now I've completed The Last Guardian and spent so many years in that game, maybe I may go back to the Shadow-type environment.

Also I think the game should be in a much more advanced stage than we think since the engine is up and running and Ueda started working on it couple of years before TLG release, couldn't find the interview but a few years before tlgs release he said that his creative job was done on it and now it's more of a technical team woking on the game[to get it up and running presumably]. So yeah, could be PS5's swan song, 2019-2020 doesn't seem that far-fetched.
Don't forget SOTC was made in like 4 years.

Whatever it will be, I'll buy Uedas games for any price on any system. This man is standing right next to Yu Suzuki at the top of VG geniuses for me.
