I'm a bit burnt out on open world games in general but if there is anyone I trust to provide something refreshing and outside the norm its Ueda.

Well I don't know if I'd even want an open world game but I want a chance to explore one of these worlds more than we've been able to so far. Seems weird to be so interested in the world or lore of SotC based on such a little amount of information the game gave us, but still.

So this will probably be a PS4 game, right? He officially stopped working on TLG a few years ago, we have the first teaser image today, and assuming there's an announcement video this year (like there was with TLG) it's safe to say the game is scheduled as a current gen release? Keep in mind, nobody should expect development to take as long as TLG. You don't usually go through something like that more than once.

Honestly I'd be hyped for a SotC 2 with the girl. Maybe setting things right, like restoring the Colossus since Wander killed them when they weren't doing anything to harm anyone.

Would be a total Ueda message, setting wrongs right

And while I would never expect his future games on anything but PS if I was MS I'd be throwing money at him

It amazes me just how 'simple' a vertical slice piece of art can get the heart fluttering...

The trio of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian, the latter of which is why I purchased a PS4 Pro in the first place, are three of the most important and unforgettable games I have ever played.

Here's hoping this new project is already underway!

People who work with Sony and succeed almost always find themselves coming back, because no one else seems to foster creative visionaries and provide them with budgets like Sony do.

I can't imagine anyone else funding the kind of high brow fever dreams that Ueda takes forever to make.

People who think Ueda is going to make anything with a number attached to it have no understanding of him.

E3 2018's gonna be LIT AF.
More like E3 2028.

This time you're a colossus, so, due to your size, movement is slow and the controls unresponsive and everyone will be mad at Ueda :(

Yep, that looks very Fumito Ueda! O:

Whatever that creature is, it seems to be some sort of giant chimera again. The hand looks like that of a gorilla...

...and is that a very disproportionally smaller leg and knee next to it?

He could have. If I remember correctly, there where years in-between The Last Guardian's announcement and release where he wasn't working on The Last Guardian at all?

Regardless I can't imagine the guy will ever announce anything again unless it's on a clear track to release. Post release interviews made it pretty clear that however anyway else felt about the TLG limbo period, Ueda felt worse.

So the big question is then whether this actually is anything at all.

I'd imagine he would want to turn the next one out quickly.

What would be awesome and what would fit in perfectly with the Ico/SotC/TLG universe: Being trapped in a massive labyrinth, guarded by a giant minotaur (horns of course!), who is your keeper but at the same time your protector of all the dangers in the labyrinth.
In the end you have to kill him or get him killed to be able to leave. :(

To the left and on the bottom of this pic I can make out something like a minotaur...

Not so sure that is likely since he already stated in an interview his next game would be open, like SOTC.

I think setting his next game on a large island located somewhere in the same SOTC/Ico/TLG dreamworld would be cool. Open and explorable, but also mysterious and surrounded by endless ocean on all sides to reinforce the feeling of isolation so prevalent in all his games. You play as a female protagonist this time, around the age of Wander. Most of the environment is nature, but there are tons of ruins and some structures left standing as well, like in SOTC. What that colossus-like thing is and how it relates to the world and gameplay I have no idea. But I think some of the other things would be a natural progression of his game design style.

Sure but given these games don't sell well MS won't care.

Didn't
Yorda die at the end of Ico?

Not really. She was spiritually connected to the castle but the secret ending shows that she's alive.

I thought it was pretty obvious? The cinematic platforming/dynamic set pieces.

I never thought of an Uncharted influence but more of a Prince Of Persia one especially with a low emphasis on combat and environmental puzzles.

Would Ueda make a game with a playable female lead though? Well, maybe if there is no strenuous climbing involved.

The Last Guardian was such an emotionally draining experience for me, I kinda just want to skip all this teaser stuff and just show me the goods when they are ready.

I actually really, really liked The Last Guardian despite what people thought about the controls. I was bawling at the end of The Last Guardian with my dog on my lap. I loved Ico and Shadow of the Colossus as well so I'm definitely in for whatever project this may be.
Yup, I'm in. Can't wait to see what's next.

The Last Guardian, unfortunately, received too much hype from people that would not usually be interested in the thoughtful, introspective style of Ueda game. I hope his next project isn't announced until it is close to completion so that doesn't happen again. It created a lot of negativity last time. With the Last Guardian I saw that backlash coming from a mile away, personally.

I love Ueda's games and can't wait to see what he makes next.

Fumito Ueda has a thing for temples. I'm waiting for him to change up the formula a bit and maybe have a young girl or boy trapped in an abandoned shopping mall or apartment complex.

That one is news to me. Got a link?

This new image is now my lifeblood untiI get more info. E3?

I'll try to find it, but I don't have too much to go on. I remember the website was up and running for a couple of years between SoTC and before the TGS Trico leak.

Did you play SotC on the PS2?, did you manage to beat it?, is TLG's performance on the OG PS4 comparable to SotC running on PS2?, worse?
I only played sotc on ps2 for a bit as I never owned it until like 2 years ago from what I remember of both tlg tan way worse and was way less enjoyable because of it. Honestly don't think the fps hit 30 a fraction of the time, probably 15-25 for the most part which is...ugh

Hmmm... i'm still gonna play TLG on my reg PS4, i managed to beat SotC on the OG PS2 and wasn't that bothered. I think i should be able to beat TLG on my PS4 as well, if not i may need to upgrade to the Pro.
