So i've been trying to get Gunnthra with the F2P orbs over the last few days because the New Years banner is still here for a month and because i gave up on the winter units.
Was at 10% trying to snipe for green which was definetly no fun but with my last 5 orbs she finally came home.
I'd almost given up on her.

I was trying to do the same but ran out of orbs. Next month I guess.

I never noticed how BS the gacha is really until I was trying to land Gunnthra. You can't choose the color orbs you want and you aren't guaranteed one of each. As far as I know they haven't added any new 3* units so I'm still drawing the same Severas, Bartres, and Wrys' every draw like I was a year ago. Can't imagine this game in 3 years when 80% of units are locked to 5*

Hi all.

I've always been a very casual player. I do the campaign, prologues, etc. But I'm at a point now where I'm running out of room for heroes due to duplicates and I'm having trouble on some lunatic difficulty stuff.

Anyone have any tips of where I go next? I don't really know anything about merging allies or anything like that.

Why are you not sending units home?

If you're not using them/they're bad units, definitely send them home.
Focus on your main/best characters, promote them, give them good skills, and so on.

Over 100 or so orbs later, got a NYAzura. Was pulling green and red, and I'm frankly surprised I got up to 5% without a pitybreaker kicking in - that hadn't happened in a long time. Will be replenishing the stocks before I try again for NYCamilla.

My friend got pitybroken three times by NYCamilla, Klein and of all units, Dorcas before they got a NYAzura.

I don't think we've pulled blue in months.

They might have some good inheritable skills though. Matthew and Barst might suck but they are great sources of Reciprocal Aid and Reposition. Also for example don't toss Shanna's, Hinata's, and Kleins as they are the only sources of Desperation 3, Fury 3, and Death Blow 3 at the 4* level.

I think the proper advice is a little more detailed than "if you don't use them, send them home."

You could just spend orbs to expand your barracks. The other options require a longer answer and I would need to know what units you have, what you're having trouble with and/or what your goals are. Discussing this in the Discord server linked in the OP of this thread would probably settle this faster.

Yeah, don't just send home units especially if you don't know if they're useful for skill inheritance. If you want help maybe list out some of the units and we can check if they're useful or not.

I spent a month sniping for Summer Corrin. Got pity broken a few times but I did get her. This was before they flipped the rates so I sent home a lot of Est, Donnel, and Gwen.

After that I don't snipe for units anymore. I agree a full pull with the free summon is the most efficient use of orbs, but after that it just depends on how much you want the unit.

Got Camilla after 50 orbs. -atk +spd which isn't great. Not sure if I want to try for Azura but I've got a month and no barracks space so I'm in no rush.

From sniping red in the legendary banner I got:
6 Roys
3 Ryomas
1 Gunnthra
1 Fjomr
0 Sigurd

gacha ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯

I really don't like the Legendary Banner at all. I don't snipe, or haven't, but I feel like the legendary banner drops 5* at a much smaller rate.

Is Est any good to work with, seems pretty easy to pump her 40+. I think I have 12 of her right now. Having her as a side unit may be nice. I currently use cherche because she's a pretty decent Armor killer for those armor teams I see a lot lately.

+ATK Est makes a fantastic brave lance+ flyer. Her high resistance lets her run ploys well alongside that

I did this nonsense with Tharja when she was part of the Voting Gauntlet banner months ago. I think she showed up just once in all my pulls, a 5* with rubbish IVs too. I think she was +HP -SPD or ATK. I decided from then on that sniping was not going to be my thing unless I really want the unit. But you know what the funny thing is, I ended getting a 4* +SPD -HP a few days after the banner was over. looool

Happy New Year, guys and gals.

Quick question, pulled a +Spd / -HP and a +Atk / -Def Hoshidomilla, for a Firesweep build, the +Spd one is better, right?

Are you running a Galeforce Firesweep build or a L&D Firesweep? And how many flier buffs do you have access to? +SPD gets 1 or 2 more kills in the L&D build in the competitive arena list as long as she's not buffed, but once she's buffed with a Hone and Goad, +ATK wins out. And +ATK can definitely run the Galeforce build better.

Out there somewhere, there are a few FEH players putting to good use the very units we've all been using as fodder or sending home.

I don't agree that doing full pulls is better than sniping. If you want a green hero and get a full roll without greens there's no sense in pulling the entire one. My advise is to try pulling for 2 different colors at least, that gives you more chance of the needed orbs appearing.

Blue orbs are pretty much always good since there's great fodder in blue for both 4* and 5* units so in doubt pulling there is always a good idea. Red is a bit of a clusterfuck but it does have Hinata so pulling red isn't that terrible.

I'll never pull all the colors unless all the colors are focus unit colors. It's fine for someone starting out that wants to accumulate fodder and build out their barracks, but for anyone who's been playing for a while, it's wasteful. Any non-focus colors have effectively a half-rate at being a 5-star, and the paltry discount you're getting isn't worth the orbs you're wasting on half-rate stones.

Yeah, at the beggining doing full pulls is definitely the best way to go.

My question is why would you so specifically want a green hero. Or rather, what you want units for. I want to have a consistent army that can take anything new the game throws at me reasonably well, and that depends much more on having a multitude of good (but not necessarily spectacular) 5* units with decent inherited skills much more than having these specific power creeps who will get power creeped themselves later on. Generally speaking, taking as much as you can and building something of your own from the resources you get feels like the healthiest way to play for me. Sure enough, I don't have many units I'd like to have such as Elincia or Hector (although I just want him as fodder), but I also don't have any unit on which I spent way too much just to see it get all of its usefulness taken away.

Yes, greens have the lowest chance of appearing. That's also because greens have the highest rate of being a focus character. If you see a full circle without greens, it's actually a blessing in disguise because you now have certainty that you're not wasting your orbs on those stones that now have a 100% chance of not being that focus target. You can back out and reroll the circle. That's an advantage in FEH that's often overlooked because people want to complain about how they're not getting the stone they want. If you do full summons, you're effectively throwing away that advantage, and it's a pretty big one.

Characters rarely become obsolete. Even if they end up being completely 'powercrept' in the loosest term for FEH, they're not useless. I don't think it's smart to chase the meta, but I also don't think it's a bad idea to target characters you want to build, for whatever reason that might be. If you're sniping a variety of different targets on different banners, you're bound to diversify your fodder pool.

Hey, guys and gals, do you think it is worth pulling for Jaffar in order to pass on his dagger to Kagero?
Kagero's got a +atk / -hp IV, and the only copy of Jaffar I have is the opposite (-atk / +hp).

Built a Guidance team featuring Catria, Winged Azura, Arden, Owl Tome Winter Tharja, and a ton of Drive Defense. The amount of mobility on offer is just nuts, and watching entire enemy teams crash and burn against Tharja is great fun.

It depends on how you want to play. I don't know how long you've been playing but after a few months, you start getting a lot less new stuff when doing full pulls and, hence, stop getting many useful stuff. Each color has some useful fodder units but the chance of them appeari2ng is always low so you eventually reach a point where you don't want to pull for a color UNLESS you have a specific objective there. I've been playing since July (approx.) and I'm only missing two 4* units (Tharja and Soleil) so the incentive to pull for colors just in case I get something useful has lowered heavily.

Reasons for wanting a specific hero are several. You may just like that hero to begin with. Maybe the hero has good stats or covers an specialty none other units does. Maybe the hero has good skills you want to fodder. For example, right now I'm trying to pull green and colorless in the New Year's banner since I want Azura and Takumi. Azura mainly because dancers are always good to have and Takumi mainly because his dagger opens opportunities for a lot of units. Another example, on the Tana and Amelia BHB banner I tried to pull mainly blue because I wanted to get Tana. Reason for that was simply that I like Tana and want to build one because of that.

I'd rather build an army of promoted units since they're easier to merge with good IVs. Targeting a colour may get me the focus unit I want, but it uses up more orbs and there's always a chance you get broken by a session without that colour.

Since IS refuses to do anything about the heroes pool, I'll continue doing full pulls to maximize the chance of getting good fodder, even if I don't get the focus colours I want.

Saying you should do full pulls because there's a chance you might get a pity breaker when there's a board without the color your chasing seems....backwards

Christmas Tharja can be a bitch to take down. I know the computer's been having trouble with my Christmas Chrom too. Is there something about the Christmas units, besides being armored, that makes them tough for the ai?

Today's orb dump got me my flying dancer, +atk -spd...guess a weapon refine will fix that. Her job is to follow desperation/brash assault blade tome Summer Corrin around in PVE stuff anyways.

I got her right before I hit 4.00% and I was sniping green so I guess around 100 orbs? Not too bad.

Who got that 5* Laslow?
You know, I'm pretty sure I've come across a 5* Laslow with heavy/expensive investment. Might have been an Arthur, though...

So far on the New Years Banner I've gotten:

5* Roy
5* Amelia
5* Athena

And jack nothing from the actual banner. >:(

Haven't gotten jack from the new year's banner. Pretty sure I've only seen like 4-5 green orbs in 5ish pulls.

I should stop trying to snipe green and just go for green/red or something.
