2018 Backlog Blitz - Work but don’t forget to live

Yay for Backlog Blitz! <3

Finally got my numbers right. Added a lot of old games (bough earlier than 2014 which is when I started tracking stuff for real) that wasn't listed on Backloggery for some reason, mostly because missed them when I manually added "everything" in one go. So even tho I beat games left and right these last couple of years and keep the new puchases down a bit, the backlog keep "increasing". Ugh. But now it should be all correct and good, so from now on it should shrink. For real.

2018 will be a bit of a struggle for me. I have started streaming and there are games I own that I want to stream and that my viewers want to see. So I will buy them, but also probably beat them quite fast. Which means a lot of +-0 this year. I will also spend a lot of time with Pokémon Nuzlockes which will eat up a lot of time.

But I still hope to end up at like... +50 or something. That's a good goal!
Another goal is to finish most of the console games. It would be amazing to only have the PC and handhelds left to worry about after this year. Gonna really try to do that.

Yay for me.

2 days into 2018, I'm at -2 (bought Nioh and Yakuza Kiwami, both of which I intend to play very soon). Currently playing Cuphead.

My goal for the year is to finish the last three big games left in my backlog (Final Fantasy XV, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Thief: Deadly Shadows). I'll only have about 10 lower-priority games left after that, half of which are Halo games.

And then with the SNES Classic, rather than adding all 21 games to my backlog right now, I'm just going to pick out the ones that I definitely want to do this year and add them to my January total.

I would use those sites in the OP, but I tend to prefer just putting my backlog in a folder on PS4 and just doing things that way.

Sounds fun. My backlog is reasonable. My hope this year is to clear out my backlog then buy less games so I'm not always rushing through.

I'm also going to try not buying games when they are on sale unless I think I will get to them within 3 months. I've been doing good. I only bought 3 games during the PSN sale even though I've wanted a lot more.

I cleared out a lot of games this month and I'm currently working on Kingdom Hearts 1 and Dragon's Dogma.

So we count PS+ games right? That's gonna kill me heh

Count them if you want to finish them. If it's just some game you don't give a crap about, don't count it.

I'm always terrible at this, but I'll give it another shot. Already at -5 thanks to the PSN sale. Luckily I already have some games in progress so, should be able to knock that number down easily.

Held strong through the Steam Winter sale. Bought nothing.

Did pretty good last year. I'm going to try to limit my bundle buying this year to only Humble Monthly, and only count the games in the bundle that I play. Sort of my one get out of jail free card.

I don't have any specific gaming goals this year, besides beating 52 games as per the 52 games challenge. Trying to make goals to catch up on series and whatnot last year didn't go all that well, so I won't bother. My only other real goal may be to work on and hopefully finish my Wii U backlog, so I can pack the system away. I only have two physical games to beat, but I also have some digital titles and VC games to get though, so we'll see. :)

2017 was my best year ever for this, and I can already feel that 2018 will blow it out of the water. January isn't over yet, but I figure it's time to start my list now that I beat my first game of the year. I'm sprinkling in some games between my Witcher 3 sessions now, focusing on stuff that I feel skeptical that I'll really want to finish. F.E.A.R 2 surprised me in a good way even if it wasn't spectacular in any way and I've got F.E.A.R 3 loaded up and ready to go.
