Oh man, this thread makes me want to replay the game. I never played the Raven DLC so might give that a crack.

What are the odds of getting a sequel? I know it did not sell huge amounts, but is there any chance?
Maybe for late PS5. Toyama wanted GR2 to end Kat's story.

Morizora's Forest
This just hit me.
Elektricite asks Kat to help her and yet Kat straight up kills her.
Kat is an asshole.

To be fair
Kat went up to Eto with the intention to help but sort of got herself into trouble. Cai made a deal with Elektricitie, setting her free before Kat was able to release her. Elektricitie's assault on the world below was just her obeying Cai. At this point they were bound to clash.

Gravity Rush is full of such unfortunate conflicts. Kali is also another victim.

Toyama has also said he is interested in creating a new action/adventure game. GR may come back one day, but it won't be anytime soon.

So what exactly is so bad about the Raven DLC? I just beat it and I enjoyed it. I guess Episode 2 was a bit too long and Raven's still kick really sucked against certain enemies but those are like the only complaints I have. The boss fights were cool and had great designs and Sachya was cute as hell. I
The ending was good too. I couldn't quite tell when the hell it was supposed to take place though.
Kat and Syd are in Hekseville but Brahman is also the mayor. Though I guess since everything is overwritten at the end, none of that stuff actually happens so maybe it makes sense that way.

I think it was at a point between 1 and the anime?

I reckon that some people think it a bit slow, the section where you just run round picking up memories was dull to be fair. It also does a massive ret-con to remove Raven as Sachya.

Btw, for the people collecting furniture it's probably good to know that one of the last pieces is only given to you by completing a side mission
it's the one where you have to help put the furniture in the back of the van
. I spent ages wondering why the treasure hunts weren't giving me the last one.

There are some sections that are way to slow, mainly the child Raven bits.

Besides that I thought it was pretty solid, especially the bosses.

The camera in the raven dlc was insufferable. Like if you had issues with it in the vanilla game BOY HOWDY prepare yourself.

I want to know who these assholes are who are sending difficult challenges out when they have to know everyone's trying to farm tokens. Stop wasting my fucking time.

If people are still going to Lei Elgona to take pictures, then I'm counting it as them being purposely difficult lol

I had almost no problems with it surprisingly.

Well they get tokens if you fail to beat their score soooo

I'm probably one of those assholes.

Oh right, challenges. I thought treasure hunts.

I basically send all my challenges, good scores and bad scores. I need the tokens, too, you know. So if my best score beats yours, I'm happy.

Getting a Pro would definitely encourage me to go back to this. Game looks beautiful on regular PS4.

Yeah it really does approach cel quality in some scenes. I was pleasantly surprised when I fired it up on my Pro for the first time. Even on a 1080 set you see benefits.
Yea supersampling FTW. Which engine is this running on? Some internal Sony engine? Game seems engaging as well ;)

I hope I get more time to play it on the weekends or something

Man seeing this thread back makes me want to stop trying Bloodborne and go back to GR2 again.
I stopped playing after I got all my Dusty tokens and furniture, never tried the Raven DLC.

Raven's moves were also pretty bad in the DLC. Wasn't too big on them. At least the kicks were annoying.

Those are fun for sure. Kat and Raven together in general is the best.

I hope Raven-senpai notices me when I teach her how to be a miner.

I've been sifting through my screenshots. Troll Kat, best Kat.

Kat and Raven team ups in game really makes me wish there was some sort of co-op element, even if only a 2 players time attack.

I remember in the months leading up to BoTW's release, people were hoping that Zelda would be playable. Meanwhile I was just hoping Raven would be playable lol

I got 6K dusty tokens today.

I must say it was way easier than I thought. Took me around a week...about 1000pts per day easily.

The most time consuming thing was wondering around the first major town for the treasures and hoping to get more challenges. I just read you only get 4 treasure hunts per day....would have helped instead of wasting time seeing if the online system would throw me a bone. LOL.

Gonna put it on the back burner and either play the first one or play them both at a later time. I just wanted to get the online costumes asap.

My main complaint about Remastered was Raven not being there for most of the game. You can understand my disappointment when I learned she disappeared again at the start of GR2. But now she's back and all is well.

Well, lost against five challengers in one night while winning against only two. I'd be more annoyed by such a dismal performance and the gap between my total wins and losses closing so drastically, but I hated most of those missions I lost and just wanted to finally be done with that part of the game so I can get closer to collecting furniture already.

I just picked this up during the holiday sale, and boy, am I charmed.

I love Kat, and her boundless optimism, and the combat (now that I'm getting the hang of it) is so much fun.

Lots to like here.

I found a couple, the first one extremely short, the second about half an hour. There are also "cutscenes" compilations on Youtube, but those are quite a bit longer.
There's also a short animated "bridge" between the two games, but it doesn't reveal anything particularly important, so you can freely skip it if you aren't into that sort of thing.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for the links.

Raven.

At least watch the youtube anime.

I had no idea there was one. I'll check it out. Thanks.

Been thinking of getting this, but do I need to have played the first one?
It's definitely better if you play the first one. That being said, you could get away with watching a video summary (like the ones linked above). Keep in mind that the first game is also not that long and I believe goes fro pretty cheap on sale on PSN.

The main things from the original that are important.
How the original place Kat is from works, there's a top area, bottom area, and area between them, but's not likethe area in GR2 with the rich, poor, and middle class.
Some of Kat's origins is in 1
Who Alias is.
Who Syd and Raven are and what their story is.
Cynthia

I don't think any of these are really explaiend well in 2 to people who have never played the first.

Seems all of my earlier complaining is rendered that much more trivial now that I not only won another previous challenge I sent out (for one of the challenge missions I was ranting about), but it was enough to finally push me over 6,000 tokens (may do more treasure hunts now that Episode 14 is next, but sitting on 6,270 total as of now).

I have to say, that part with the... uh, let's call it "ice queen" (to remain as vague as possible) dragged on for fucking ever and I hated it. Lowest point of the game for me.

Oh man the pretty colours and poses!

I agree but then again I found the game suffered pacing issues in general so it isn't like a new thing. I was still mildly curious and waiting for the next big thing to happen... I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting. Then it happened! My biggest grievance is the lack of exploration in that portion of the game and really just the region. It was particularly irritating when for the most part the game was "see that island over there? You can fall onto it!" with a few exceptions then this part was all "Look but no go!"
