We can interpret this as a good sign. Like another poster said, they will not drop this game so easily due being Star Wars. You can't compare SW with Mass Effect Andromeda from a massappeal potential.
It underperformed saleswise at launch, but as we expierience there seems to be a pretty huge player influx lately, because movie and Christmas. Plus it appears that people recognize the game to be really good, wich automatically will generate positive word of mouth.
Dice now for real must go back to work to improve player expirience and keep the momentum... presumed there is any to begin with, but at least it appears to be.

If any game deserves the Ubisoft approach of "We're not giving up on this!" it's this. There's so much potential... it's totally possible to turn it around.

Also Starfighter Assault deserves a dedicated season, gosh darn it.

The fighter one is an utter pain yes. It got easier with added damage from star cards but ofc the main problem is all the other people trying to kill them and no assist counts as kill when you did most of the damage. The kills as a marked target while marked isn't as bad as it sounds. I got that before I got to 500 hero kills. Just take a sabre hero and get used to always attacking the target no matter what. It'll come naturally.

Screw the one for level 50 though. *shudders*
I'm at 140/500 with 0 target kills so I don't think your story works with everyone

Worked for me. I just played death lemming every game till I got that trophy. I still had 100 to go for the 500 when it popped.

Also much harder as Light Side heroes for some reason... UNLESS YOU ARE FINN.
Luke is also pretty damn fantastic on any of those maps you can push people off of. Rush in then abuse his 2 pushing powers. Generally though the dark side saber guys are just better and more fun. Maul in particular is great for rushing in for the kill.

I picked up the game and am looking for some tips to get started. I really love fighter squadron and galactic conquest, what are typically the best classes/ships to use? In the beta I really got used to the sniper class and flying an X-wing. Any cards I should go out of my way to craft? What heros should I focus on using? I prefer ranged combat, as cool as it is to swing a lightsaber around I die to quickly getting close. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. I play on Xbox so if you want to play together let me know! My GT is: holy canadian

What ship you use is down to what suits you best so cant say. I use the fighter because the interceptors are too fast for my shitty old man reflexes and the bomber isn't on all maps. As for cards take whatever suits your play style.

Long range hero you want is leia. That alt fire is just insane on any sort of open map and bound to get nerfed so enjoy while you can! Closer in finn is also godlike. I'd start with those 2.

I really hate how rolling makes you invincible against lightsabers. HvV has become really frustrating as a result as everyone just rolls or dodges 24/7. Same with being a lightsaber wielding hero in GA. Hope they address this and tone it down a bit.

starfighter: you can work with all of them. but i tend to go for interceptor. they are sweet for dogfighting if you have starcards for damage increase, fire rate and heat reduction. they are already very quick (but glass canons), so i focus on firepower (but also can help on objectives). when going for objectives (mostly destroy something) i tend to switch to bombers. fighters are somewhere in between and suitable for everything (cards: damage increase, hull stability, mobility).

on destroy objectives, i tend to take the bomber and focus on the objective which is quite nicely rewarded. with a bit of luck i tend to get hero ships relatively early then.

thats just my personal opinion/experience of course. i rarily play the trooper mode... and if, i take mostly the ships anyway (if available).

hero ships i like are yodas starfighter, boba's coffee cup (well placed seismic bombs are nice) and poes x-wing.

i avoid the falcon as everybody wants to bring it down. somehow i also cant score with lukes x-wing)

My starfighter strat is:

Pick Bomber/Fighter (if unavailable) > play objective and ignore everything else > jump into a hero ship > murder/play objective > rinse/repeat

Such a great mode. MORE PLEASE.

I dont get strike
why dont you swap teams after 1 point
Because games can be decided rediculously quickly in Strike.

You know how many times I've looted to objective at the start of the match with a shielded-up Specialist and raced to the drop off in a couple minutes or less to end that round?

That's why making the matches 2 out of 3 makes sense. It gives the other team a chance to regroup from that "Wtf just happened?!" round. The other modes don't have that chance of a minute match, even if you stop the other team on the first objective.

One experienced Strike player who knows the map can speed-blitz a round.

Do you mean stick to the same map though, when you swap teams? Because that might be a bit more tolerable than jumping to a new map.

Imagine having to sit through that annoyingly long loadscreen for a new map after getting speed-blitzed.

A team of experienced Strike players that's been together for a few games in a row with this game's poor match-making or seemingly nonexistent team reshuffling? The loadscreens would be longer than the actual matches.

2 out of 3 just makes sense either way; staying on the same map or changing maps imo.

I refuse to believe they playtested Phasmas staff ability for even 5 minutes. Use it once and it is immediately apparent that you should literally never use it again in any actual combat situation.

It's astonishingly slow, does shit damage, and the animation is 100% not cancelable, so you can't roll out of it and you're entirely stationary.

Her health buff is bonkers good though. But the staff is just hilarious.

True to the character I guess...

She sucked with that staff

Yeah it's a shame too because I was excited to whack some people with her staff :/

They better have some big balance patch or content patch just around the corner for all this damn silence.

For those Strike challenge requirements, Ive realized that if you are on a team thats steamrolling, you just sit right where you are and dont leave the server till you finish your challenge. If you are being steamrolled, just abandon ship. Sticking with it almost never pays off, players leave and none of the good players ever get moved over, you just get the backfill.

yeah, i'll chime in on Phasma, too. First of all, it's astonishing how much better Finn is compared to her lol what were they thinking?
Survivor (health buff) is really great though. I always make sure it's activated at all times.
Her shock turret thingy is kind of sucky, but it hits troopers often enough if placed correctly.
Her staff is not useful in any situation. Sometimes I get a spark of confidence when a melee hero confronts me and decide to use it.. Never hits. Ever.

They should have just made her base melee attack the staff and her third ability
the blaster she used in the scene near the end of the movie. shit was quick

I mean, even her blaster isn't that good though. It's neat that it gets more accurate the longer it fires but it doesn't really add up to much when its probably the weakest ranged weapon of any Hero or Villain.

But yes totally agreed with the staff, the wind up for the animation is so sluggish and lacking in power, it's only viable in conjunction with the shock droid.

on the ps4 at least it counted loses as wins anyway so no need to worry. Just play 10 games.

Phasma's Staff is clearly meant to be used on a stationary target, i.e. people who are stunned (best by your turret).

You can also use it preemptively when someone is charging at you. When timed right, it works.

Once I got the gist of it I actually completed the Staff challenge quicker than the Turret's one.

It's simply not worth the risk. Even if someone is stunned by your droid, it's quicker and easier to gun them down while remaining mobile vs having to do 1-2 staff strikes that keep you 100% immobile while any number of people outside of the droid's stun range can melt you.

If you are in a server with any above average players on the other team, using her staff is virtually guaranteed to get you severely hurt if not outright killed.

For some reason, the only phasma success I've had with the staff is smacking yoda with it. Which is hilarious.

this reminds me of a match i was playing on Theed the other day. we were attacking during Phase 2 and Rey was defending one of the points in a defensive stance. everyone was shooting her but she was taking it like a champ, so i got impatient and started meleeing her while she was deflecting blasters.
i never laughed so hard

Is there any chance we get map select patched it at some point? Probably the single biggest thing keeping me from playing this game a ton.

Beating the piss out of Darth Vader with Chewbacca's melee will never not be funny to me. HvV can be a cluster, but every once in a while you get that moment that makes it worth it.

Battlefield 1 didn't have map select for several months after release either. Then it has been patched in.
We know nothing about incoming patches and their content.

Wookies are so balantly OP in comparison to other special troopers, it's not even funny. Every time i face one either he is already weakened or i have to attack him from behind to have something like a chance to defeat him.

Battlefield 1 added map voting in after launch yeah, but it had a server browser from day 1. The DICE teams responsible for BF1 and BF2017 feel like a generation behind in terms of balance and feature set.
