Seems like something that could easily be faked, but would be a great update.

It'd be very easy to fake, since it's ultimately just footage of a menu screen. Seems like a trivial thing to fake, but never underestimate how much work people will do just to fool people.

Also, I'm calling this fake entirely because of the 'Virtual Console Folder'. The whole video is wish fulfillment, but that detail in particular is too much to expect. Especially if this is an update that would likely be connected to a January direct.

After that Rayman Smash 4 leak, I think anything can be fake. Even if it is, it's a very good concept video for those who say that adding basic features would bloat the OS.

Curious about this as well! Would be nuts if true though.

Sure it's not somehow connected to the Homebrew-scene?
The new homebrew-launcher for Switch is supposed to launch on 1st February and it was the first thing that came up in my mind.



But on the other side, I'm just confused so what do I know. Hope most of it is true for the next firmware update

If it's a fake it's very well done. Has new sound effects for new actions and everything.

I just hope if it is true they also improve their USB audio support that they silently put in 4.0.0. None of my USB headsets are ones that work.

EDIT: Ahahaha one of the folders that guy made is a "Virtual Console" folder. I mean you can probably name folders anything but that tease.

Looks a bit weird, idk.

Taking with a grain of salt but that's some pretty detailed replication/video editing to get exact menu movements and sounds.

What I could see in the video:

Themes: An actual theme shop, potentially allowing third-party to make their own?
Rooms: Seems to be chat rooms, allowing smartphones and Switch consoles to join in. Switch can use its microphone which could mean not that Nintendo is killing the smartphone app but that they are expanding on it, using the app as a way to communicate when away from your Switch.
Folders and layout: Can create folders, change the layout of icons. Sorting as well.
Apps: Looks like there will be media apps, which we do know was on the horizon vaguely/rumoured. Looks like a browser could come as well.
Cloud storage: Briefly appeared when they switched to memory usage, shows it as an option so potentially cloud saves.

There were no new sounds that I could hear, all standard. I checked to see if I could hear clicking of a keyboard or something but if there is it is incredibly quiet.

Also, still take it with salt but the naming convention seems to be free enough for the fodlers that they could have just teased with the naming of Virtual Console.

No eShop music tho....
