That's some catch, that catch-22

Leorio's power is pretty versatile, I don't think he needs a condition to be strong. He's got long-range attacks, stealth attacks, and according to Ging his Nen ability can be used to attack the body's insides directly. Basically you don't want to get too close to him, but staying at range isn't going to be a great option either. And god help you if he gets the jump on you.

I'd really like to see how a Leorio fight plays out, there's a lot of potential with his moveset.

Rewatching Yorknew now. I cried at the end of Chimera Ants and loved Knuckle as much as the next guy, but it doesn't really even come close to this. Just like every episode once the Phantom Troupe comes in has one or two super cool moments.

Kurapika being too OP is my only complaint but that's like half the fun

Yes, obviously Leorio's power will be more support based but imagine if he could like stop organ from functioning, as Ging said the ability can attack the inside of the body. Sounds really dangerous.

Gon threatened to kill the beyblade dude, and he broke his leg :(

I actually thought Gon was going to shock the other dude for a second.

Continuing to catch up on the manga volumes. Finished 15 last night, in the middle of Greed Island. Still really enjoying it. Greed Island has some good backgrounds.

Succession arc is very good. They're not really dragging their feet and the whole thing just gives me horrible anxiety between Emperor Time and all of the potential betrayals.

The one exception is probably Kalluto considering he's a part of the Troupe. We still don't know if there's anyone other than Chrollo on the boat, or if Hisoka somehow made it onto the boat as well.

We'll see how long this new wave of updates last. Every time.it comes back I have to reread old chapters to remember what I read.

I can't wait until 30 years from now when we're all anxiously awaiting to see how Kurapika will protect a young child from a vast conspiracy of warring factions while simultaneously furthering his own goals.

I need to do a reread of the stuff after the manga but are the Zoldyck's on the boat?

Besides probably Kalluto? Probably not. Illumi is hunting Killua and Alluka, and the big guns like Zeno, Silva, Maha I doubt it.

It's better this way anyway. If a prince managed to cough up enough dough to get the Zoldyks on-board to Assassinate the other body-guards then that prince is pretty much guaranteed the win. None of those Kakin fools are messing with the Zoldycks, lets be real now.

Kurapika vs Zeno and Silva would be some hilarious ass shit.

Indeed. Kurapika would have to go with some round-about tactic to get the hit on the bodyguards [which includes Kura himself] to be cancelled. Perhaps finding the Prince that hired the Zoldycks and killing him or her.
*Silva prepares double genki-dama attack* *Zeno prepares Dragon Dive*
Kurapika: "Guys you don't have to kill me, because I killed the one paying you."
Zeno and Silva: "Motherfucker" *They walk off*

I can't tell whether he's an actual pedophile sometimes or Togashi likes trolling readers

Yep Togashi likes to troll, look at his gesture he's doing.

I feel like that kind of uncertainty plays into several things in Togashi's work. For example, one of the more common discussions that's been going on for years is if Killua is gay, straight, perhaps Bi. There's room to argue for either because it's left uncertain and it's not like Togashi hasn't done gay characters before. It's the same with Hisoka, you'd think its just that high potential and fighting turns him on, but when he does stuff like he did in Greed Island it makes you question is that's all there is to it. Another uncertainly is with our lovely heroin--hero Kurapika. Lol.

Also let's not forget the dates that Gon had with older women at Whale Island, that kid has seen some things.

Gone gets more than any other shonen protag
Unlike Goku Gon knows what a fucking kiss is and he's like 1/4th Goku's age.

I've never heard this argument, but I could see it. I always just thought Killua does not know how to speak to women and that he was just very gender neutral regarding how he spoke to people or just very protective of Gon and didn't want the attention taken off of him for a woman. Though he is very combative when speaking to women. I might have just chalked it up to his issues with his mother. He's better with Bisky as the show goes on though.

Maybe it's not much of a topic these days but back when Togashi was drawing the Chimera Ant arc it was a constant topic. I'm with you though, Killua for the longest time didn't know how he "should" react or speak in certain circumstances, because he's never seen them before. All he knew before he ran away from home was how to kill, especially after Illumi made him forget about Alluka via the needle. Not just with women either, I mean he was calling Wing, his Sensei "four eyes" for the longest time. Wouldn't be surprised that he thought that was okay and not disrespectful given how he was raised.

So when he sees his best friend that has been the light in a life full of darkness go to the darkness himself and then he can't be the light for Gon? It hurts, he feels helpless and breaks down.

The stuff with Wing and him calling Bisky an old hag I pretty much read as him having problems with dealing with authority figures. The only two people I don't see him do this with are Silva and Zeno and mostly with Silva I don't think he really knew how to talk to his dad. Given his upbringing I could see this being a thing. He treats Milluki like a little brother...then again it's Milluki so I'm sure he deserves it.

I can see that, especially since Silva was like "Well, we're basically only Father and Son in title, we've pretty much never talked like this" during their talk.

Makes me wonder if Zeno even talked to Silva, that family is fucking weird.

It's implied that they didn't, which is why he "talks" to his son and lets Killua "leave" realising he's his own person after he left home, not a reflecting of himself and the way he was raised. That whole family is all business.
