yep it isYeah I wasn't really clear on what happened. Now that I think about it, is what they said that they had compressed the Klingon's bones to be Tyler shaped and layered Tyler's personality (and skin?) on top? If so, that is FUCKED UP
Listened to the RedLetterMedia mid-season review (which is really a half stealth Orville review as well), and Mike had an idea that I thought would be really neat (but, they admit, they probably wouldn't do):
That they are now in the normal Trek universe. Everything we've seen in so far on the show IS the Mirror universe.
But that just raises the question of how they could possibly have made all the changed undetectable to federation scanners?
But that just raises the question of how they could possibly have made all the changes undetectable to federation scanners. Like did they replace all his organs with human organs? How does any of that work with a Klingon brain?
Costume design has been phenomenal.
This should be the show from now on...
And apparently the longer they are in the Mirror Universe, pretending to be these dark versions of themselves... they are coming close to losing themselves in these roles... as evidenced by the preview of the next episode
I'm loving mirror tily and mirror Micheal

Anyone else find Evil Captain Tilly kind of...ridiculously hot?
Just me? Okay...
I don't think they're interested in telling a show about family. Your main relationship is between an emotionally stunted woman and a Klingon spy who murders the only gay person in the Star Trek universe. lolI really don't know what to think of this show.
It seems intriguing enough to continue but I'm starting to hate everyone on this show.
really miss the old bridge crew family dynamic of the old shows. all these intrigues, lies, secrets are kinda getting on my nerves
To be fair, I think they kill more people on this show than they have in all of DS9, and that show also featured an all out war. lolCan we give them credit for not using the double-clasped back hand hit they do to knock people out like in the other Trek shows
I really hate when people try to push this idea because it shows a complete and utter lack of understanding of what the Mirror universe is. Last night's episode should make clear why "theories" like this make no sense and have never made any damn sense. It's not even clever. People that claim to be Trek fans should know better.Listened to the RedLetterMedia mid-season review (which is really a half stealth Orville review as well), and Mike had an idea that I thought would be really neat (but, they admit, they probably wouldn't do):

I still need to see them make good use of environmental props though. Can we give them credit for not using the double-clasped back hand hit they do to knock people out like in the other Trek shows
It's clever in that it's one way you can explain away why Lorca is considered the best Starfleet captain in the entire fleet despite his disposition and seeming lack of ethics.I really hate when people try to push this idea because it shows a complete and utter lack of understanding of what the Mirror universe is. To be fair, I don't subscribe to the Mirror Universe theory inasmuch as I think the Mirror Universe is a dumb gimmick that was ruined in DS9 just like the Borg was ruined on Voyager. But that's just what people keep saying.I don't think firehaw12 is serious in that assertion. I think is he just taking a shot at Discovery based on his posts on this page. Which is fine. Opinions and all that.
Someone previously said thatLorca immediately jumping to "lets blend in" lends to the mirror theory if you assume thats exactly what Mirror Lorca did when he arrived in the main universe.
But even then it is still a stretch and they would need to nail that landing if they go there because it seems too shaky.
So, I've not seen any of Discovery since the first episode, but judging from this thread it sounds like it's gotten better?

It's a different DefiantDid the defiant ever cross to the mirror universe in DS9? I don't recall that...

For DS9: they made a Defiant ship in the Mirror universe, but the Prime Defiant never crossed over.Did the defiant ever cross to the mirror universe in DS9? I don't recall that...
