Just saying a tiny wish among this hype/despair that I want a Pro controller with a headphone jack announced. Nintendo answered my hardware prayers with the Odyssey bundle last big Direct!
I think this is what happenedWhat if one of their social media people was browsing resetera and tragically misunderstood the countdowns in this thread
What did I miss while I was gone? Did any more dogs barf?
Where am I?
I'm just gonna save this postHere's the updated collection of GIFs/images I've collected so far guys. If there's more let me know.

I guess I just gotta sleep next to Nintendo's Twitch Page LOL.They start off with the trailer for Metroid Prime 4, then Retro's game.
It's happened before but there is a window of time that allows people to get ready to watch the thing.the people claiming this is gonna shadowdrop tomorrow are insane imo. No chance in hell.
The golden age is never over we are stuck in a freaking loop! It will go on and on till we finally get our direct announcement!
11am eastern I think. But the other possibility is that they thought there really was a Direct today from the hype in this thread (heck, they used a gif posted in this thread). So maybe this has become a self fulfilling prophecy!Best theory is that they posted that a day in advance by mistake. So what time was that today? It'll be that time tomorrow.
I hope you choosed this gif specifically because that scene goes well in hand with the craziness that's going on here XD
I mean a January direct is guaranteed from the EA emails leakWhat if there never was a Direct in the first place? What if Nintendo woke up one day to see all this hype and expectation and are now cobbling one together to save face?
Can you imagine the backlash if there isn't one? I'll throw my Switch off a mountain, into a lake, then burn it!
/s Can't nothing stop this hype!
At this point I just want to know the story behind this one.Remember when GameStop said there was a direct in 45 minutes. What the fuck.
no time neededIt's happened before but there is a window of time that allows people to get ready to watch the thing.
Probably about 45 minutes before, that Gamestop tweet kinda implies soHow do the stealth drops work? Do we get like a 30 minute window, or does Nintendo literally just start the live stream, giving no one time to actually see it.
Hi, for those of you asking what's been happening lately with the logo or trying to catch up with this thread, here's a long explanation.
Insiders have all come forward collectively earlier on this month stating that the Direct is happening 1/11.
Since then, a massive hype train has collected and theorizing multiple things. These things include stuff like 2018 being a year of ports for Nintendo, such as Wii-U Ports or Third Party ports (such as the very heavily rumored which is basically deemed to nearly be true, Dark Souls 1 Remaster or Port). Since that was dropped out of the rumor base, users on /r/Kappa who has had a very flimsy record when it comes to being right or wrong, even though he did leak the TMNT to Injustice 2 DLC, also came forward saying the same shit but WILD ass predictions which everyone has not believed.
At this point in time, as of yesterday, Nintendo of America was rumored to have posted the announcement that the Direct was happening 1/11. Reason being, Nintendo has a track record of announcing directs in a format of two days or one day before if it's a direct about multiple games, and multiple days before if its just a single game. However, when the time strike 3PM EST (or 2PM don't remember correctly), Nintendo retweeted the damn parrot from Mario Odyssey. However, hours before this happened, someone in this hype thread stated this
"They should RT the bird tweet from weeks ago so we know they're watching us", when 3PM EST struck this was retweeted with the picture of the parrot:
"What is the secret you're seeking? I know it, I know it, ha HA! I can't tell you! ♪ It's hiding somewhere and no peeking! ♪ Go find it, go find it, scra-CAW!"
Then today happened.
As of Today, we had a couple of things happen overall. First and foremost, at 5AM on the Dot, Super Mario UK on Twitter tweeted out a picture of Mario using fire balls in Super Mario Odyssey. Then we had this incident where GameStop messed up (or purposely trolled us) stating in a tweet "The Nintendo Direct is happening in 45 minutes!", then deleted it. Since then, we also had a Direct square logo space pop up on Nintendo JP's website. On top of this, for all of you coming in asking "Why is the logo with Chibi Robo on Fire a thing?" here is your answer. Nintendo of America joined on the continuous fun and tweeted a picture of Chibi Robo on fire at 12PM EST. At 1PM, Nintendo NYC also joined in the fun tweeting out this Mii with a hot dog suit on. Since these tweets have happened , we've also had multiple video game Twitter accounts tweet pictures, too, but at Nintendo.
Including:
There are others, too, however if you notice all of them have the same theme, a character on fire. At one point, the theme from a twitter account, such as Trove, tweeted "Things are getting hot in here" or "getting fired up". We also had RogerBase, a fellow ResetERA user/Nintendo Ambassador & Youtuber stating in a DM to a Youtuber known as EtikaWorldNetwork that a Direct is happening tomorrow with no announcement, he also made the video that is now up with GameXplain about Predictions.
As of now, I believe that is all there is to know with everything linked for those of you who don't know what's going on and for those of you trying to catch up. Also small thing to note, the other day Amazon SKU's popped up (several of them), users preordered them and now they're getting cancellation emails.
That's all folks!
We survived the WiiU era, this is nothing!
If it's as big as we're hoping (and it probably is), is that even possible? Stealth dropping a big Direct doesn't seem like a move Nintendo would do.We're just having fun, but the current rumor is that it'll stealth drop tomorrow. So no announcement AFAWA.
It's just about time. Nintendo would never let the fans leave disappointed, or so I think.
Damn just when i preordered em all :/
Considering they used the same gif we were spamming I wonder if they just saw the thread and assumed our count downs were real.Remember when GameStop said there was a direct in 45 minutes. What the fuck.
This thread was actually Mother 4 all along.
Maybe the Gamestop employee was reading this thread while some of us were saying "In the next hour guys!"Remember when GameStop said there was a direct in 45 minutes. What the fuck.
Its not our fault we like to be nurtured and loved.I wish I could say I feel bad for all you hardcore Nintendo folk, but Microsoft only gives us Xbox news once a year at E3.
RDR is a no no. The code is a mess, they won't even port it to PC.
Is true though only 40 monies!! LeftMaybe the Gamestop employee was reading this thread while some of us were saying "In the next hour guys!"
And he actually believed it.
This. They would not place the Reggie gif else. What if one of their social media people was browsing resetera and tragically misunderstood the countdowns in this thread
