Imagine if they spent time on the 3ds in that direct.... Hopefully only 2 minutes or so i don't hate the 3ds but switch focus would be prefered.

A Mini Direct doesn't concern me. What that sounds like is we're getting a 15 minute Direct, and that's fine.

A little 3DS stuff, then some release dates for Kirby and Yoshi, reveal a Switch game or two (Fire Emblem, Octopath), make reference to new DLC or updates, and then Dark Souls.

12 minutes!

That's a ludicrously specific question. What can be released in 2017 is affected by what was being developed in 2016 (as was the case with Pokemon) and even games not developed in house will take a ton of work and planning from Nintendo because they keep control of their IPs (as was the case with Metroid 2).

EDIT: got my years mixed up, it's 2018 now isn't it. Pokemon, Metroid 2, Fire Emblem Echoes.

I'm so confused. Was there no proper Nintendo direct yesterday? I seem to recall there being a massive thread in anticipation for it. I was going to stay up to watch it, but I noticed page after page people seemed to think it was only half an hour to an hour away, which just didn't make sense to me.

Based on what I know, that's an accurate statement.

That's not a bad thing. Because Switch is getting some really awesome third party stuff this year. Not all of it will be announced during the Direct.

People were anticipating the announcement, not the Direct itself.

That thread was about them just announcing it for today.

Now we're expecting a stealth announcement in 10 minutes
