From what I can find, it seems to be spike damage when the boss gets enraged/gets to half health.
Besides the spike defence aux cores, maybe try the accessories (crystals) that restore HP with auto attacks. Or put elemental orbs on him and chain attack when he enters enraged state.
I didn't think this game could disappoint me much more vis a vis XC1, but then it managed to crash after the credits roll at a black screen without saving. Look around on the web and find this is not uncommon and a bunch of "clean quit and restart game before final boss" advice. What a mess.
Generally you should be stacking orbs on everyone you fight and going into chain attacks just before they enter an enraged state. I haven't started with the super bosses yet, but from my experience with my revenge tour so long as you get 4 orbs up and break them all you can melt anyone from half health to overkill with a single chain attack.
I want to know this too! I'm level 81/2. I've been smashing enemies as much as possible, but the legendsries are hardly coming thick and fast.
Yeah I think KOSMOS and Dahlia are generally the last Blades, Im putting allon Nia, maybe I make her an attacker lol
How much luck do you have? I only got 450 on Nia with 30% more luck object, is there some food for better luck?
I am only about chapter 5, but I have about 20 common core crystals. Do people just use those all up and dumb their common blades? Or don't even bother to use them? *Removed last question due to possible spoiler*
You should be using them, but not on Rex. You can use the common blade for
the mercenary missions
No, you need them for merc missions and field skills.
I mean, you don't really want any rare blades on Rex if you can help it (outside the story ones). That's all I mean by it.
Use them as much as possible. Those things are literally everywhere so no harm done if you consume them all up. Just try to balance up your inventory of blades, like don't flood them all on one character.
You can pump up your luck by equipping blades with luck mod. So far with 2 luck blades plus those luck increasing chokers, I have reached more than 900 on Rex.
Lance and Ball give +50 Luck with the right chips. Otherwise, I *think* it's completely random what stat mod you get.
Do you guys think it would be a good idea to use an Overdrive to move Mia (cat lady blade) to Nia and switch that bad ass tank samurai guy to character#4? Overdrive items seem rare but it seems like a waste to keep tank guy in Rex when he could be getting affinity and be better with the latter character.
Character#4 is only using two common tank blades for now. Man, I sort of miss Tora's damage with Poppi.

Check my post on the last page. As a rule just about any UM over level 65ish (and some lower) will drop them. You want to find one that you can beat fairly easily but not too quickly to get more driver combos in. Gold chips on blades active while smashing/KOing enemies helps a lot.
Treasure sensor skill also helps, but also only on active blades. Adeline had it, commons can have it, and you can give it to Poppi.
Legendaries won't drop super often regardless. With just gold chips across the board I was averaging 1.5 per fight, but also 6ish rares. Higher level UMs might drop them more often, and having blades with treasure sensor would increase the drop rate.

one question though. I need to find and own 20 books for an Adenine skill. I know there is a book shop in Argentum and one in
(small location spoiler) but where can I buy more books? couldn't find a shop in Torigoth or Uraya

Make sure you have the relevant affinity level. The rest are from events in Argentum.

Try raising dev level. Also there's a book shop in Fonsa Myma if you go around the left stairs from the city gate.

Chapter 8 or 9. Level 64. Just got KOS-MOS.
Spent the weekend focusing on sidequests. Think I'm going to do some affinity work and maybe one more Quest and then return to the main game. Might do one more side quest push before I finish the game if I find myself under leveled again, but then will wrap things up.

I don't know what blade Mia is, do you mean Kora or maybe Nim? Morag is definitely the best driver for Perceval, and he's a great blade for her. But she doesn't need him since in the long run she gets three guaranteed great agility tank blades. It's worth the overdrive if you don't have more pressing moves though. Keep in mind you only get 3 overdrives from loot, and one from each driver for completing their affinity chart, and a few for buying the DLC. After that you have to deal with the grind for 4 crown commons and maxing out their affinity charts.
Beastly core is Wulfric. Earth lance attacker. Ideally you could throw him on Rex and never need to open another core crystal on him again for Reasons. Being an attacker anybody can get by using him but Nia will be the worst candidate.
On the other hand Vess should probably go to Nia since she's a Bitball healer. Nobody else really has any use for her unless you're experimenting.
You probably want to stop opening cores on Rex, just a tip. Multiple reasons why he doesn't need many.
Luck is basically the only thing that for sure helps the odds of getting a rare blade, since the game outright says so. The difference might be minimal, but it's apparently there.

I love boss fights that are 90% easy, then last 10% they enrage and kill you. And my healer keeps switching away from her healing blade. Sucks I just have to flat yank off a blade of hers so she stops using him.
I'm sure it's not optimal, but until I actually got good healing blades on Nia, I didn't assign any blades to her other than Dromarch.
At least that way, you know she's always using a healing blade. Outfit her with the right accessories and Dromarch with the right cores and you're all set.
I'm not saying this is the right way to do it, but I did have success with it for a brief time. Obviously you miss out on several bonuses doing it this way though.
Yeah that was a typo from me, I meant Zeke. I stopped opening cores on Rex ages ago.
Definitely. Boreas is great for Nia and one of the best healers in the game.

No KOS-MOS? She's legit, basically made for Zeke but isn't bad on Nia. I'd undoubtedly go with KOS-MOS on Nia over Dromarch, keeping in mind that level 2 special is a party-heal.
Herald is also really good on a non-tank, I prefer her to Pandoria in most situations as an electric blade, but sometimes she's not ideal.
I'd also opt for Praxis over Gorg for a water blade.

You can access that without even equipping Pyra. If you use the Stage IV through Blade Nia, Mythra automatically switches to Pyra just for that move.
I could have sworn Mythra could do that too. Either she can or she automatically switches to Pyra for it so you don't even have to "use" Pyra to use that either way.

But yeah Pyra really needed a late game buff or to just be better period so choosing to use her over Mythra didn't mean actively choosing to gimp yourself. Her best trait is a chance to be able to finish enemies at low HP with a special, but the game design makes that kind of useless since powerful enemies often require you to finish them with chain attacks before they unleash super attacks and kill you.

I'm yet to pull KOS-MOS unfortunately. Waiting for Praxis's core to recharge so I can put her on Zeke (and then to boost her affinity and get to Theory's quest).

She does, but
you do have to swap to her if you want to use the superior fire version.
She totally needs a real buff though. She doesn't need to be better than Mythra, just not as bad as she is now. Right now I'll only really swap to her to finish off a blade combo with a fire move.
I think we're out of spoiler territory at this point.
If Herald is on Zeke or Nia you don't really need to do much since they do fine with ether. Rex isn't quite as good with ether and Herald doesn't really help much since she boosts strength(??) while being an ether cannon blade...

Yup, there's two different versions of it. One is so much cooler than the other as well.
I feel bad... I see a lot of people struggling to get Kos-Mos and here I am not using her at all. I have her on Character #5, but I run a strength set-up on him.
That blade is kind of a waste once you have Mythra, who can do the entire light blade combo all by herself once you max out her crit art regen ability.
