A little nitpick; we can't extrapolate much about Gon's peak potential based on what happened in the CA arc other than him being a monster (but we knew that already).
The transformation isn't Gon at his peak, it's all the power Gon will have over the remainder of his lifespan compressed into a single moment. He wouldn't get anywhere close to that level under normal circumstances no matter how hard he trains.

I'd put Kurapika a tier below Gon and Killua simply based on how fast, strong and durable the kids are naturally. Kurapika is much more intelligent, though.

Well, I said peak/ceiling, as in his absolute best - but that doesn't necessarily he, Killua or Kurapika will be able to achieve their absolute peak via normal methods. It was just a way to show: "holy, shit Gon's a beast, and so is the other two" - because it's because of Gon's immense potential that he could make such a sacrifice.

Fair on Kurapika. I think he's roughly in the same tier, but that could be my bias speaking :P

I actually don't think Kurapika is noticeably more intelligent than Killua. Killua just isn't suicidal. Even Bisky left the planning up to Killua if I remember Greed Island right.

Well Killua's got the whole age thing going for him. He's like what... 12-13 for the majority of the series? The brain generally has developed a lot more by Kurapika's age. The most impressive thing about Killua [mentally] is that he's able to adapt and deduce things from absolutely absurd and unpredictable scenario-changes on the spot.

Strictly speaking though, yeah Kurapika's getting more intellectual feats. He's extremely impressive in this regard during Prince arc.

Yeah they are both pretty brainy though. I think regardless of who's in charge with those two the thinking is expertly handled, though with Kurapika you need a Melody to talk you out of your self destructive tendencies.

I don't think Melody is going anywhere. If she does then it's a clear signal that Togashi is gonna kill off Kurapika.

I bet the first one to go is
Basho, the smoking prince doesn't care about learning nen and is already plotting to take out the 5º prince, he's about to be in the middle of some deep shit

Still the only one thats safe is
Bisky, because she is such a powerhouse

FYI, you don't have to spoiler tag any of those predictions as they aren't spoilers. The only things that need to be spoiler tagged in here are actual HxH spoilers and chapter contents before an English translation is available.

She's strong, but no one feels safe to me lol. Killing off Bisky would really hurt too. Hopefully someone will try to attack her, and get waaaaaay more than what they bargained for. I would like to see her cut loose.
I think she's just too clever and resourceful to be done in very easily.

I feel like I need to re-read from the start of this Dark Continent arc. Just a lot of exposition to get through, but I feel like some stuff have gone over my head that I think may be pretty important in the future.

Have you guys seen the Calamities Stats and Ratings that appeared on the volume? They are translated on the wiki they are very interesting.

Yeah i know i just do it because of Mitchman or other anime watchers that are close to catching up with the manga.

I've been waiting for Hanzo to get some development for a while now. I don't want him to die here :(

He was pissed the last time we saw him, he's gonna get some revenge thats for sure.

Bisky dying would absolutely crush me but it'd be a huge turn of events. Would be the biggest death in the series alongside Netero. Played a major role in Greed Island, had a smaller role in Chimera Ants and is back again as a bodyguard. But yeah, as others have said she's probably at least top 10 on that boat, which is impressive when you consider how many monsters are likely on board. It'll be hard to imagine these Kakin scrubs doing her in.

Yes she is. Hopefully she doesn't get unlucky in the manga. She's highly intelligent though.

Well, I wonder if Togashi forgot about her goal to find and destroy the Sonata. It's not relevant now of course but I hope we see the end-game of her goal at some point :P

Fair point on Killua being younger, though don't ever see him getting to a level where he's successfully playing 8 different parties against each other. Kurapika is doing some Ging-lite stuff right now. Even making the Nostrade family into a major player without Neon's ability in the span of a year is no small accomplishment.

basically the Ants are Toguro of HxH

I will probably understand that reference later on as im still catching up on the YYH (episode 12 so far).

So Pap, Ai and Hellbell are the most dangerous and its basically immediate eradication with a team up by the entire world. If Alluka is find out she's screwed, even the Zoldyck family ain't doing shit in a situation of this magnitude.

Also Brion species are less 100 yet they reproduce ate the same rate as humans, if i had to guess they are probably parasites that require a host (human body) that's why they are a small number but can reproduce fast under the right circumstances.

Let's just thank god the Ants never found their way onto the Dark Continent. Then again the Queen probably would have been stepped on before she could eat anything considering the fact that the place has motherfucking kaiju eating other fucking kaiju walking around.
I love the reveal of their threat level it's similar to Toguro in YYH

"or you remember that threat that you were scared to fight for the whole arc and give all you had to beat and almost got you killed severel times over"

"yeah that was a b class "

the ants and Toguro have the same rating too

But those resources though. A mineral that can generate 20K watts of power off a single bead, something that can cure over 10K illnesses, etc... Man...

Yeah that's bad, Phantom Troupe as a whole are a "threat" this 5 things have each individually the potentially to worldwide devastation. Calling it a "threat" is way to soft.

What if Don will be classed as one of the Calamities now, because he's so abnormal and far removed from humanity. A+ rank

Maybe that's the Calamity they bring back this time.

I believe that the CA on that exist on the Dasrk Continet are a B but the particular ones in the series were able to devour humans and obtaining Nen.

I'm more interested in actually seeing him than a lot of the other stuff in the DC. He must make Netero look like a chump if he's surviving in the DC by himself for hundreds of years.

At the same time, for all we know his power is just highly specialized to allow for his survival.

My guess is Don probably good with the DC guides that were mentioned in an earlier chapter (the ones that let humans through the gate), he probably has that same type of charisma that Ging and Gon have.

To be fair Netero wasn't really interested in the DC, because theres no battle to "win" there only "survival".
That seems so be more the Beyond dream, to endure and bring something of value back.
