My guess is Don probably good with the DC guides that were mentioned in an earlier chapter (the ones that let humans through the gate), he probably has that same type of charisma that Ging and Gon have.
He's probably an absentee sociopathic asshole that just happens to be liked and has better friends than he deserves. Friends whom are probably serial killers going by Ging and Gon's friends.

I don't think we know how Don is related to Ging and Gon apart from being some distant family member. Based on the time he's been gone I'm guessing he's Ging's great or great-great-grandfather.

Or could be Ging father, he come back to the human world to leave his book at some point. But still we really don't have enough information right now to know.

That's definitely a possibility. The combination of Nen users having ludicrously greatly lifespans plus DC shenanigans could allow Don to be Ging's father.

The mystery of the Dark Continent is super appealing to me, lol. Can't wait for the chapters to start back again.

To be fair Netero wasn't really interested in the DC, because theres no battle to "win" there only "survival".
That seems so be more the Beyond dream, to endure and bring something of value back.
This seems to be the thing, surviving in the DC doesn't seem to be about raw strength but about survival abilities. From what we know being super strong isn't going to help a whole lot against the calamities. You can't punch a virus to death.

Too bad we are multiple years from seeing it. But hey i'm not complaining i'm liking the Princes stuff so far.

Exactly, this page makes that point.

Reading these pre-boat exposition chapters gets me so hyped for DC. Lets just hope Togashi maintains a 2 Volume a year pace.

I'm really not interested in any more power creep after the Chimera Ant arc. Don Freecs being some crazy powerful guy would be the most boring thing possible. I'm hoping Don's situation has more to do with how he has learned to survive in the Dark Continent, with whatever Calamities and rules present there.

I'd argue anyone that lives for hundreds of years and can survive in a place full of monsters that rival or outclass the Chimera Ants is a probably no one to underestimate.

Yeah, he is going to be absurdly powerful, in some shape or form, no matter how you slice it. I just hope it is done in an interesting way. Of course, I don't think that is much to worry about with Togashi.

He's probably going to be very powerful yeah, but I think he would more have some kind of ability that helps him to survive that place for so long.

There seems to be a higher race on the DC. I just take it he's cool with them.

Beyond has been waiting to take another crack at the DC for like 50 years, I imagine his hatsu would reflect that.

I wonder what the deal is with the human's who live on DC. They obviously got to the point where they could be giant cities and such but its not surprising they didn't last.

Hopefully Togashi doesn't go with some "original Nen" to level up our heroes to be able to compete - as in the true source of Nen was lost through the ages and is only now relevant on its birthplace, the DC. It's what the inhabitants and Calamities use.

Is it possible for a normal human to crack their knuckles like Phinks does? Because I forgot about it and its the coolest thing ever.

Maybe Uvo? But the world may never know, lol.

One cool moment was when Gon broke Illumi's arm and hauled him out of his chair, while his other arm was in a sling. Dude just doesn't care about his own life.

We should get the volume 35 cover in a little under two weeks. I'm going to guess it features Bill because why not.

Killua will most likely out live Kurapika though...
That's what Nitro Rice is for!

I believe that the CA on that exist on the Dark Continent are a B but the particular ones in the series were able to devour humans and obtaining Nen.
No, pretty sure they're still B. Meruem was super powerful by the end of CA, yet he still died from radiation poisoning. The calamities are ranked higher because they veer into Lovecraftian horror territory and can't easily be fought by conventional means.

Then how the fuck are you supposed to deal with them then? Doesn't sound like wailing on them with your Nen Stando is going to do any good. Fuck that didn't even work on Meruem.

I wanna see Beyond's team into action

I figure they're not nearly as strong as the average Zodiac, but their abilities will be way more suited to escape/deal with the crazy horror of the DC

I totally expect Beyond's team to be decimated in a few chapters upon dealing with some of the threats of the DC.

Yep me too. Beyond has been to DC and should know exactly what are the right people to recruit, like Ging said they are all specialist in their fields pick by Beyond. Ging made the right call to switch sides.

The team that has Ging, Pariston and Beyond? No way, i bet the Zodiac's are getting screwed first.

Ging has fucked off to do something else

Lol yeah.

Beyond's gonna be like: "Yeah, I'm out" - he escapes and loses the Zodiacs, with relative ease. I feel more comfortable about the team that has Beyond and Ging. Pariston is also just one big what the fuck.

Ging even promised Sanji "brother" that he will get him back safe. Ging is serious about this, he isn't fucking around.

Also Ging is there to put a "leash" on Pariston, at least a bit.

So... will Kurapika be involved in the actual DC arc or will he pack it home after they reach the "fake continent" assuming that the whole Hunger Games: Prince style and his conflict with the 4th is solved by then. I reckon he will be but hopefully Leorio is the no1 player out of those two :P

He should. As far as I remember, Mizai gave Kurapika info on Terrorsandwich in exchange for his participation in the expedition.

I still have no idea what level of strength to expect from Pariston. Like, Ging talks about him likes he's a chump, but I just can't believe he's the kind of guy who'd go down easily.

Also, how crazy (awesome) would it be if DC, of all places, is where Leorio gets to shine?
