Wait Syd actually
died in Eto? Wasn't that just a machine? I know the synopsis for the final chapter says he gets revived but it confused the shit out of me because I don't remember him dying.

Did you miss a cutscene? He died after getting stabbed from behind just before Kat fell to the world below (taking place prior to the first game). But he was revived to assist Kat in getting stronger and remembering who she was. The alias machine getting destroyed is in the present, and was obviously not him in the flesh.

Does anyone know or have the font they use in the comic strips?

Apparently the OST had lyrics to some of the songs even though from my knowledge the language is made up. Here is a song that someone translated lyrics to English

Are these seriously the lyrics to the song? If so, it just got a whole lot more creepier/depressing.

I don't know. He disabled comments but if you check description he says they are translated from Katakana lyrics from the OST.

The wiki has some stuff written about it here.

Edit. Also found this. Can't read a thing of the images though.

GSA: You were responsible for creating the lyrics to the in-game song "Jeuchalais Evule Plelat / You Will Die (So Don't Worry)." Since the words are based on a made-up language in the game, what is the song about?

KT: In the story, Kat lapsed into her own internal life and had to face her past. I handled the scenario for that scene by myself, so the lyrics are based after the scripts. I wrote the scenario and lyrics after we had a big earthquake last year; as a result, I felt that I was reacquainted myself with death. At the time, the project was not going well, and I became very frustrated.

However, I realized that one day we will die, and all worries will be gone. So why not enjoy the moment without thinking too much? Thus, I implemented that message into the song's lyrics.

The song is created by Kohei Tanaka with the image of my favourite song of Jane Birkin. I was worried about the lyrics, because it was something imaginary, but the recording actually went very well. Tanaka advised listeners to sing this song just like you are humming something in a bar. Honestly, I loved it.

Well that's what the void/despair said anyway. The story touches so many elements, i wouldn't be surprised if...

She's called Sea Kat because that was her codename in the first game when she was briefly a part of the defense force/military in the first game.

i didn't understand the animation episode, who are those two people? and why kat in video A was in the new city?
It's been a while since I watched it, so I might be misremembering something, but I'll try:
Time-wise they were switched around, the first half happens after the second, which explains how they got to the new city. The two people they fight in the second part are experiments made by Brahman iirc.

The DLC for the first was fun, but annoying at times

Why I'm sad the first didn't have side missions. Experiment with the 1st, make the sequel with better side quests

You're right; Assassin's Creed: Origins, Battlefront 2, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Ghost Recon: Wildlands offered stupid levels of polish and production values.
Okay wait. This sarcastic post is throwing me off.

You're gonna have to explain how these two fit in your list. I haven't played BF2, so maybe it does lack polish, but by all accounts it indeed does have a "stupid level of polish and production values", regardless of what you think of the game. But I could be wrong and it's a glitchy mess, not entirely sure...

But AC Origins? Yeah, that one I can't let slide. Explain?

Does this hame have good music? The first one had a nice orchestral score as if it was recorded in a symphony hall. Is this the same?

In my opinion, it was one of the best OST's of the year, and the first game OST I've imported since like Jet Set Radio Future. That 's not getting nominations for OST of the year is just insulting.

It's incredible. For specific examples, here's the relevant section from my goty post:

Gravity Rush 2 comes in second this year only to Nier, as does Kohei Tanaka's wonderful soundtrack - which in any other year would be on top. From the triumphant title track, to the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous-esque sax of Lei Havina, to the beautifully melancholic classical guitar of Lei Elgona, to the jaunty exuberance of Lei Colmosna[spoiler redacted]

I have seen plenty of janky weird shit that occurs in AC: Origins. Nothing Andromeda game breaking level but even successful masterpieces like The Witcher 3 aren't exactly the most polished titles. Frostbite games in general are kinda janky it isn't exclusive to Battlefront. The assertion that GR isn't successful because it's janky and unpolished is absurd. It isn't successful because it's a very niche Japanese game that started on a portable console.

Well, I do agree with that. And I don't think GR is unpolished either.

But, I have to disagree that AC:O is unpolished. For a massive open-world games with that level of visual fidelity and a million things going on at once, it's actually incredibly polished and largely free from major glitches. You really couldn't have picked a worse examples other than maybe Horizon Zero Dawn. :P AssCreed got a lot of deserved flak for its lack of polish in past games, but AC:O isn't like the others.

I mean I guess we just disagree. I don't think GR2 is unpolished or janky either so I also disagree with the original post on that level as well but that wasn't what was most erroneous to me.

Yup yup, watched it right as it aired. The only reason I skipped Gravity Rush 2 at first was because it was too expensive where I live.

Yeah, it has been pretty much fullpriced over here too (~€60), the cheapest It has been was apparently during Black Friday (sub €20) and directly after Xmas (€26).

So knowing servers where being shutdown I decided to get it at €26 and play it, nice to see the servers will be up another 6 months though, because the online stuff is actually "fun".

I got this game despite all the negativity I've heard about it. I've been playing this game for 2 days now. It's really great. Movement feels soooo goooood. I like how the game tells you to escape missions in stealth, but you can just gravslide the hell outta there.

I can't figure out how to get this stupid trophy for killing 10 enemies in 10 seconds using the Gravity Typhoon -__-

There may be better spots but I did it on that side mission to steal boxes of supplies for the centipede. In the second half when you have to escape, there's a ton of enemies that show up. I went to that wide open area they show in the cutscene, avoided the robots and just aimed at the police. I didn't even have it fully upgraded. You can grind enemies to raise your meter, and if you die you still keep your meter and restart right at that checkpoint, so it's a good spot to go for it I found.

I have my pitchfork ready. Who are these monsters?

Glad you're liking it though!

If there's a GR3, do you want Kat to be MC? Or someone else/ new world?
I think the strength of the series (besides the gravity stuff) is in Kat's growth and development with her friends. If we return to the world it should be either to continue with Kat which I think will be hard to follow or to start something new in which case a new protagonist with new characters can be fine or even a new or parallel universe type thing.
Personally I'd love to see more from Eto and its citizen.
I wonder if Kat's family is up there somewhere.
