nobody has said Chris Brown is redeemed. Nobody has even said they support Chris Brown or Dr. Dre. Thats you making assumptions and bad faith arguments.
My point has gone over your head, the original story is about Depp have work after his domestic with Amber, allot of people think he should not work again or find it hard to get a job ... Daniel made a point in his statement about what powerful people are allowed to get away with depending on how serious their crimes are. Well the first two people that come to mind are Dre and Chris two people who went on to have huge careers after their abuse allegations, there was close to no redemption for them. So please fuck off with your bad faith argument when you can't even put together what I'm saying.

Maybe instead of attacking people who misunderstood the quote, we can focus on the substance of what he's saying?

First time I've actually seen the photos. Yeesh. Surprised it ended rather amicably between them legal-wise.

Presumably because him continuing to work for his livelihood keeps him in a position of power where he can take advantage of and abuse others.

That really wasn't how Depp was though. One drunken fight isn't at all comparable to the more reflective situations of Weinstein and Spacey at what you're saying.

Honestly, another big part of why Depp still holds his position, and what Rowling sort of pointed out in her statement, is that officially Depp is past the situation and Heard had wanted things in their lives to continue (at least in her statement) separate from the case at its closing. Unfortunately, it gave permission for things to continue as business. Now, if that's what she actually wanted and it was a one time thing, I don't think people should be hanging everyone who is abiding by it. But Radcliffe has been the only one who has spoken so far, and probably because he's no longer involved in any Wizardong World productions, to call it like it is instead of trying to make excuses for Depp.

Radcliffe is also on the money that minor and victimless offenses can land a new or small role actor out of a job/career, while major players can keep trucking along after abuse, drugging others, and rape in most cases.

I'm pretty conflicted on this. I grew up alongside the Potter universe and love the books. I've seen (almost) all of the movies in the theater on opening day; I've read all the books.

Fantastic Beasts looks like a great movie, but I it's the only one I haven't watched. I had a chance to catch up on it the other day, but stopped because of Depp's association, the allegations, and the studio's response. It's too bad, because the lead actor looks like he does an awesome job. : /

You said "where's the outrage for Dre and Chris Brown" as if there was some sort of double standard for them and Depp. You're creating a position nobody has argued in order to make a stupid point to absolve Depp.

People tried to cancel Dre, people tried to cancel Chris Brown, and people are trying to cancel Depp. So you're gonna have to do more to justify some implied double standard.

Can you show me the outrage over Chris's last album?? The petitions and outcry.

Again my point swooshing over your head. I'm done engaging with you.

What's with the People watermark? Did she sell them these pictures?

It says a friend took one of the photos and one was submitted as evidence

In court papers, Heard details two other alleged domestic violence incidents. On April 21, she claims the actor, 52, argued with her after showing up at the end of her 30th birthday party "inebriated and high," grabbed her by the hair and "violently shoved me to the floor." On May 21, she states, Depp "began obsessing about something that was untrue" and hurled a cell phone at her, "striking my cheek and eye with great force."

In a depressing moment, a younger woman at work mentioned the new Chris Brown album to me, asking if I had heard it. I explained that I don't listen to him, specifically because of the Rihanna incident and the lack of remorse. She questioned me a bit and I explained further, saying that I try not to overly judge people I don't know but the clear extent of what we know he did was so terrible and the complete lack of remorse after was so awful, I just can't listen to the guy.

She went on a short rant about how that stuff "happens" and basically just started listing off excuses for him.

Honestly, it made me so damn sad.

When certain publications post pictures, they usually have a watermark somewhere on there.

And that's my point about Depp it's going to get to a point where being outraged will mean nothing, his a powerful man and eventually people will just write it off.

The fact you feel the need to make it racial disqualifys you from my conversation , I don't have time to even entertain it
"I'm not doing anything racist. Out of the ocean of abusive celebrities I just so happened to pull two black men off the tippy tip top of my head"

You ain't cute and no one's falling for your bullshit.

Love when the receipts come out. We should post the links to the people protesting Straight out of Compton because of Dre's past too, because remember that clearly as well. Dude was way out of line "randomly" name dropping those two as if they aren't protested for their ugly pasts.

I'm calling the shit you pulled racist and I don't give a fuck what race you are while doing it.

Since when does quoting 2 domestic violence cases by celebrities racist , Chris browns case was monumental, almost wall to wall coverage and Dre case I only found out when it came to light like many others when Compton dropped. I'm sure there are others by white people but that's not in my scope. Get over yourself

Involving Weed and comparing it to domestic violence
The point was that 'Crabbe lost his job over weed, but we're letting Depp stay Grindlewald after this whole domestic abuse thing for... reasons?

Since you just happened to, in defense of people not happy that Johnny Depp is still working after beating his wife, pull off the dome the names of two black dudes for folks to gawk at instead. Like folks ain't been doin' that shit for decades.

It seems like you have a very sick and twisted agenda to brand it as racist at any cost. Both cases are cause to compare and contrast. Dre is a billionaire now and Chris is still in the music game. Both have been accused and 1 was even found guilty of abuse. If they are black then so be it, they are people in my race that shape the music i listen to. You however are clutching for straws with your stupid accusations.

It was poorly stated yet still coherent.

It requires knowledge about the original Victor Crabbe for the analogy to come full circle but it does work.

People in a job can loose their entire livelihood for a harmless offense while famous people within that same job skirt by without punishment for substantially worse crimes like domestic violence.

Involving Weed and comparing it to domestic violence
Dude, the only comparison he was making is that people get arrested for weed, people lose their jobs because of weed, but if they're very important or famous, they do worse things and there sometimes aren't any consequences. So he understands why fans who don't like that are disappointed and frustrated.

Mentioning Chris Brown is especially stupid because I don't know what universe you're living in but I don't ever see Chris living the domestic abuse down, his name is synonymous with domestic abuse allegations.

I am not talking about his music career but his treatment of Rihanna is the first thing that people talk and joke about whenever he is mentioned, offline or online.

Anyway sorry about this side bar but of all the stupid comparisons one could make, Chris Brown really is the stupidest one.

I'm not the only one who noticed your shit. I'm just the dude resolved not to put up with bullshit quietly.

Or maybe you just have an affiliation to them, and you just cant stand them being criticised, get over it. i'm not going to continue derailing this thread. If you have a genuine issue with the fact i picked two black people to contract cases of domestic violence then please take it up with a mod. I've already conceded with what Deepwater posted and ive acknowledge it, he proved his point against my flawed one. You however just want to keep going at a non-start issue
