Yeah but when an opponent rolls away from me I just use a force ability and stop that shit real quick.
Now, your complaint is that the force only works 50% of the time.
Maybe the problem isn't with the rolling, maybe the problem is with the shitty implementation of the force.

That, I can 100% get behind.

How do you stop it as Luke / Yoda, all they can do is push enemies away from him

Or Vader, who exposes himself to insane amounts of damage while using Choke.

Honestly the only Heroes that feel as powerful as they should against standard troops are Rey and Maul.

I think everyone already knows how much I hate Luke. I don't play as him, so I won't defend his force abilities because I absolutely despise his move set.

Yoda, I can answer. When it comes to him, I use unleash and finish them off with his spin dash ability thingy. I rarely ever melee strike anyone unless I run right into them somehow and if that happens, I always have a spin dash in the chamber to finish them off. I usually stay alive as Yoda the entire match doing this. Also, if you do encounter rollers and end up using a continuous melee combo on accident, luckily Yoda's movements are so everywhere, he barely takes any damage because he's so difficult to hit.

And yes, Rey and Maul are the best. I actually like Yoda a lot too.
I don't play as Vader often but I've seen people demolish as him because of how tanky is.

But Luke is a lost cause

Real stinker of a patch, addressed very little people were begging for and addressed a bunch that nobody asked for.

Growing pretty accustomed to this treatment at this point.

HvV on Kashyyyk is the least fun I've had with this game so far. Constantly being force pushed or mind controlled off the edge.

Patch is good overall I think, just need to get used to the new meta. Its a lot easier to be in a LAAT with no supercharged sentry spam I'll tell you that.

Problem is I don't know what to use with my heavy now since supercharged sentry was nerfed to uselessness. I only used it to gain battlepoints against objectives, but now I guess its time to branch out.

That Boba nerf was so random! Emperor is king right now in GA. Chewie still dominates HvV.

When did people start using the word meta to describe class setups and such?

No clue. I started using it back in Destiny 1 when I was in a clan that played PvP competitively. Thorn meta, TLW meta, etc.

There was a meta? Lol.

Supercharged Sentry, Blurrg, CR-2...pretty much universal

Even hero loadouts have a meta, having the chain lightning heal + increased jumps is basically mandatory for Emperor.

Thinking about getting this since its like 26 on greenmangaming for PC. Is it worth jumping into, or are there still a lot of problems with the game that need to be addressed? Been watching and playing a lot of star wars related stuff lately.

There's some good stuff there that at least mixes up my load outs for Heavy and Specialist

Specialist - The Infiltration buff is really good and may make Killstreak worth swapping in for Hardened.
Heavy - I've swapped Barrage in for Supercharged in my standard loadout and had good success with it. I got more kills with it last night than I did in a week at launch. Whether it stays or I swap in a Sentry card for the healing buff is TBD though.

Also, I'm sorta liking the Recharge Command card for the Officer. Being able to instantly reset cooldowns is pretty awesome and you generate decent BP when you use it with your team. I'd encountered the bug referred to in the patch notes so I'm much more likely to run it now, though I already have the purple card for Battle Command.

Blurgg nerf is minor but noticeable, I was one-shotted far less last night despite most enemy officers using it. I think the explosive shot nerf was still warranted because you could effectively one-shot Heavies in close range if you landed a full burst to the body, let alone the head. It was just overshadowed by Reduced Recoil making the gun more versatile.

Problems or not, if you like Star Wars this is pretty much a no brainer for that price. It has a lot of Star Wars to offer. It's a great game.

Don't mind the grumpy old men in here, just go for it :-)
The game is not without it's flaws, but overall super fun to play.
And it doesn't get more Star Wars than this...

I hope we see more Fighter Squadron. Playing the intro of Revenge of the Sith would be really fun! Or have a level based on the Return of the Jedi, where the objective for the rebels is to blow up the Death Star 2.

I think EA should just take Criterion and have them develop an entire Star Wars vehicle game.

I got it during sale on ps4 and been enjoying it tremendously. There are a few annoying things but nothing that bothers me too much. I'm also enjoying GA way more than I did in the first game. The maps feels much better to me.

Well said. Don't need stronger saber users, no ty. Luke is the only one who needs a buff.

Saber users should not be running into a group of enemies that are aware of your presence. Plan accordingly and hold back and support. Unless you know how to evade accordingly, don't run into a firefight.

Not if you plan it right

Oh come on. Heroes are always present on the minimap. Yesterday on Endor I was Vader in the second phase and a death squad (probably premade) came after me, literally chasing me all the way to the compound wall (which the AT-AT hadn't even destroyed yet).

I recorded it, will upload it.

Sounds like a good team to me. Not letting a hero dominate the battlefield, combining strength to defeat him asap.
What's wrong about that?

Literally the only hero I fear as a trooper is Sheev. Maybe Chewbacca depending on where. Wookiee's are the scariest thing on the map, period. It's silly.

Dunno. Being a solo player and having a 6/7 man squad (again, presumably premade) hunting me across the map. It was moreso in reaction to the guy who said that rolling is fine, assuming that it's 1vs1. It never is a 1vs1, people always see where you are on the minimap allowing them to gang up on you. Even if you decide to go for one guy he can just keep rolling while his buddies blast you to bits.

Fix the rolling and/or remove heroes from the minimap. Make people actually look for visual or audio cues as to where heroes are instead of completely gimping heroes that actually try to flank. Again, saber heroes here suffer the most as ranged heroes can simply stay at a range where they don't even show at the minimap but try flanking as Maul/Vader/Kylo vs. a semi-aware team even and you're gonna get destroyed.

Ah, ok gotcha.
I imagine it's super difficult to get the balance just right for saber wielding heroes. Go overboard and they become unstoppable killing machines, do too little and you get situations like this.
Personally I almost never play a hero in GA, but if I do I always pick a blaster hero, because it suits my play style better.

Yeah I'm guessing other sentry modes aren't as nerfed? Time to change star cards for heavy class. Which is a shame, cause I invested some serious crafting parts for that particular card. (._.)

Its interesting that the patch notes refer to the Supercharged Sentry generating heat per shot. It explains why the Marksman card resets the timer on Sentry Mode.

SCS wasn't particularly fun

But the wookie? Man anything that was fun to use they crippled. Why not just make the other heroes more powerful instead of making everyone weak? I never take the jedis or sith cause they take to long to kill anyone and you die too fast. You dont feel powerful with them i find. So what do they do? They make the characters that were fun to use useless. Great stuff.

I may have missed the conversation but here's my take:

I agree that soldiers should be able to roll to dodge lightsaber heroes, and they currently do have a cooldown period after spamming two rolls. I think that the cooldown period should be slightly increased. As it stands, it isn't difficult to outplay an enemy soldier and time your attacks so that you hit them while they're not rolling, even in a 2v1 or 3v1 situation I feel pretty confident with any saber hero that can block.

But I think that normal troopers and reinforcements should not be able to roll to dodge Force abilities. That makes absolutely no sense and would serve as a good nerf to the issue imo.

A lightsaber hero should not run into 10 troopers and immediately kill them all, but they should be able to deal with them somehow, and should definitely not have to cower in fear at the sight of more than one trooper.

To make it clear, I think it's fine for Heroes and Villains to be able to dodge Force powers, but not regular troopers or reinforcements.

Making things stronger doesn't really do anything different from making things weaker. It all is a zero sum game. It's all about trying to achieve a balance.

The only way a lightsaber hero comes out of a 3v1 with more than half their health intact currently is if 2 of the enemies are Christmas noobs and don't know about the roll dodge lol.

Or you're playing Maul.

If people are so insistent with keeping the roll mechanics the way they are then lightsaber heroes should cost the same as enforcers to call in, seeing as they regularly get killed by 3K battlepoint Wookies.

It's objectively bad game balance.

And the Wookie "nerf" did nothing lol, they still effortlessly dominate the field

I guess their hit detection overall is just total shit then, not even counting rolling.

Thats my biggest gripe with saber users. The hit detection just feels wonky at best. I cannot stand to use Yoda because of this, hes flying around and his stubby saber makes it difficult to tell if I should be getting a hit or not. He feels like the most useless saber user to me.

I was reading through the patch notes and the thing that excited me the most was now specialists can use 2 trip mines!

I'm going to be laying those bad boys all over the objective.

yes, but jedis are supposed to be very powerful, it shouldnt take that many light saber swipes to kill someone. They dont feel powerful at all is my point which ultimately makes them too weak imo.

Why? Because they nerfed the Sentry? That was the only thing that made the Heavy good for you?

Maybe it was lag or something, but I was shooting the hell out of people last night and they would literally turn around and kill me. I'm used to officers being a pain to kill, but everyone was taking me out last night. The supercharged sentry was great, but now it doesn't do much of anything except slow you down and get you shot to death. For some reason, Assault felt great last night. I switched over and was tearing people apart. I'll have to try again tonight and see if anything feels different. I know this game caught a lot of shit, but I really do love playing it.

I can still top the leader board with the job turret and explosive sentry.
It's still a viable class, just no longer the definitive best class.

Love how I just got 900-0'd in a corridor on Hoth because being slow as sin as Vader and being on the minimap all the time allows someone to sit there waiting with his explosive sentry and kill me while my camera goes haywire.

Blurg is still the same freaking nuisance as before. Personally I use the SE or S5 as the Blurg is just way too easy.

Funnily enough people can dodge roll between my saber strikes but I am completely stunlocked when Rey starts wacking at me.

Also got 1500 crafting parts so hopefully Anakin/Obi/Count/Grievous are going to pop up soon(ish).
