Probably necessary to keep him on staff for another year or two. This way he can get his DC experience here before he gets a HC job.

And once he leaves Coach K can just take over as sole DC again. This convinces me even more that K could be here as DC for the long haul.

Edit:

Apparently Freeze isn't going to be OC, but an "analyst." So he's in the Saban rehab center.

I wonder if this lets him get around the HC suspension thingy?

Supposedly his suspension only applied to a HC position, even if he got a coordinator position he wouldn't serve the suspension. Don't know if that's true, but I've seen it mentioned in a few places.

Unless you mean sit at Bama for a season and then go to HC elsewhere. I don't know if that would work or not.

Just crazy to hear. Hope more people begin to realize that just because someone is outwardly positive or smiling, doesn't mean they're not dealing with some shit.

Depression is really awful, what a difficult thing for his friends, family and teammates to deal with.

Ah, G5 farm system being cemented. Have a good year, not only will your coach get poached, players will too!

It's a tough situation given players aren't being paid, so it's hard to justify having them sit out. But maybe the opposite should be implemented. Forcing a coach to sit out a year. Of course that would never pass.

We got a new Co-Offensive Coordinator. I guess he'll be making calls with Tim Beck. Not sure if I trust an SEC West guy on offense but ANYONE is better than just Tim Beck

That would actually give you guys some balance. Kliffy already has the air raid knowledge so no need for more.
We were actually about 45% run plays this past season. We run more than people think (though not as much as Kingsbury wants to, I don't think), we just haven't been good at it the last couple of years, lacking RB talent and OL presence. In 2016 we also had rocket arm Mahomes constantly playing from behind due to our horrible defense and in 2017 our QB wasn't much of a downfield threat to take the pressure off.

In 2014 and 2015 we actually ran the ball less often but we were more known for it, since at the time we had draft picks at RB and on the OL. Funny how that works. DeAndre Washington racked up about 2,600 rushing yards in two seasons.

Haha Miami is trying to spin that their bowl game loss was in a neutral site so they can keep their home winning streak intact.

Nevermind the fact that it was played in the same stadium as their home games.
