I remember this arc because I re read it a couple times during the breaks. I love how dense the early chapters are and they're pretty interesting even on re read.

If we get 49 Chapters of HxH and 20+Mil Switch's sold in the year of the lord 2018 then I am afraid hell has frozen over and 2019 will be the last year for humanity. This is the first time I am experiencing a Hiatus recovery, so I am just going to expect next week's chapter and light a candle praying for the next one each Sunday until the next Hiatus happens.

After thinking about it, I definitely prefer the 2011 Uvo fight to the 1999 one if only because of the face Uvo makes when he remembers Kurapika's tribe. He gets so hype and you think he's gonna break free like anime villains always do but then nothing happens.

Everywhere and nowhere
I just re-watched it. Okay, he is able to intentionally cut off Netero's arm and leg, but he does that by throwing himself at Netero a bunch of times. Skill and strategy would be doing it in one shot and not relying on extra attempts. I still don't see it as being that smart.
It's like you just ignored his whole development with komugi. Learning peoples flaws was how he was beating people at their own game. And it's proof that komugi is the strongest in the huh universe. Holy crap you might be worse than dtl.

Edit pardon the late comment. Clicked first unread and this is what I get.

I object to the way the fight was handled. It was just a guy jumping repeatedly into a wacky inflatable tube man. Character development and backstory is not fight choreography.

It's why I also dislike Midoriya vs Todoroki in My Hero Academia because apart from the character development and pretty colours, the 'fight' was stupidly boring.

YYH Episode 18 - This Hiei fight was way to quick, but still great.
YYH Episode 21 - That final power up "White Eyes" Yusuke was very cool.

Next episode Yukina, i know she's Hiei sister and Kuwabara love interest, goddam memory from shit i read years ago :(

Hiei fights are always over pretty quickly, he's pretty efficient for the most part. Rescue Yukina is when I actually got sold on YYH.

Getting hyped then, outside of those 2 details i dont know anything more about her or what happens.

Also im close to the Dark Tournament arc, and damn its 41 episodes, the biggest arc.

It's the GOAT tournament arc though. Not only are the fights really good, but they're held together by a legitimately strong narrative.

They are not exaggerating. It's decades old and light years better than the current Dragonball super tournament arc.
that's an huge understatement

it didn't help my enjoyment with the top because I was binging the dark tournament at the same time

so while Goku is shredding through fodder I was watching Kurama getting more and more handicapped and being creative with his powers in order to survive and lose at the last fight because he couldn't move

Kurama had some real good fights, dude had to fight clever even though he totally could have just overpowered everyone he beat.

That's not Kurama's style though, he loves to think his fights through. Straight up over powering fools is Hiei's fetish though.
The Super tournament has no stakes, and it's still the Goku show. That's the problem.
The universe is at stake...yet I really don't give a shit.
Do sports series tournament arcs count?

That's not exactly a high bar. Even Black Clover probably had a better one last year.
Jesus, I really can't join the people in the Super OT that actually enjoy the arc. It's a pacing clusterfuck. It's quite obvious they really didn't put too much planning into it. It's good to watch on a Saturday morning while you're eating a bowl of fucking Cap'n Crunch, not something you watch at night as you have time to think about what's actually going on.

The worse part for me of DBS is the writing and consistency, it literally was none. It's all just made for Goku to be involved in every single fight and to power up through every bumpy fight.
Thank god this arc is near its end, finally i can stop permanently after it's over.
