That was adorable. Thanks for sharing. She didn't seem that fatigued either.

I think she'll be the crowd favorite from here on out now that all the Aussies on the womens side have been eliminated

Not a single mention of her Haitian heritage hmm......

Good for her for being awesome and representing for herself and her family.

She explicitly mentioned her Haitian heritage from her father's side a little past 1:30. As a Haitian American myself, I hope she does well. She is quite affable and very light-hearted in a way that seems genuine and friendly. I actually have a crush on a Japanese woman, so this thread makes me chuckle a bit.

That's what I mean. Everyone was all about her Japanese heritage not giving a fuck about her Haitian side. She had to shout it out herself. While this dude keeps blabbing out NY and Japan.

Of course, she's playing for Japan (I guess...? Context got me there), so I guessss I understand the line of questioning.

Haitian and Japanese? So I still have a shot with the cute Japanese girl at work maybe?

If you work in Japan, you definitely have a shot with the cute Japanese girl at work. Seems like you'd be more exotic over there (as a Haitian, I assume), so if your Japanese language skills are up to par, then I say go for it!

In America? Not so sure.

Last time I saw her, it was during a really upsetting loss at the U.S. Open I believe where she was crying pretty hard during the match. But I like her. She's really good.

She plays for japan and has lived in the US since 3 years old. Not sure why he should ask her about her haitian roots.
