I'm kinda sorta trying to have an imperfect blind run (but I got my little impulsive ass spoiled, yep), so I guess I won't ask you about it. That sounds fiendishly interesting though, I didn't even know you could see her at all, not to mention realize her voice changes... I thought Iosefka was the guy in the beginning cutscene, haha.

No worries - just thought with it being your friends PS4 you might want to see as much as possible before giving it back!

I finally beat Dark Souls 3 after dropping the game a year ago. At first I hated the faster combat, but the last third of the game is fucking amazing. Soul of Cinder, the Prince, Dancer, Pontiff, Nameless King. Some of the best boss fights in the series. Gonna miss this series if it is really the last one.

Just started DSIII for the first time and it crashes at the loading screen (PC) constantly. Has anyone experienced this and found a fix? Thanks.

Just to clarify, do you mean the loading screen with the logo and a bonfire in the lower left-hand corner? or is it right after startup with the Bandai Namco / From Software logos?

Have you been able to start character creation or gameplay at all?

Have you tried restarting the PC or closing all other programs except Steam? Which Windows version?

That is a staircase in Château de Chambord (it's a very famous manor in France). The developers for all the Souls games always went around Europe looking at the architecture and taking photos and using them as inspiration for all the games like in Bloodborne with all the gothic architecture.
Amazing images, thank you for sharing!

Been playing Demon's pretty regularly for about a week now and finally got invaded. I was hoping to get invaded before the servers shut down and didn't think it was going to happen but it did. I don't know how Old Monk invasions work but I got invaded two times in a row before getting to the fog gate.

I got wrecked the first time by someone with a giant hammer and then got the upper hand against someone using claws. It reminded me of back when the game was really active and playing online meant there was a good chance you were going to get invaded. That crap scared the hell out of me. I had never played a game that would put your progression at risk like that. I would tense up when the red text would show up on the screen, often times I'd just run and try to hide.

This is now my 5th playthrough of Demon's Souls. I've played every game since the beginning and I can honestly say this is one of my favorite franchises of all time. I can't wait for the Dark Souls Remaster. I'm hoping to jump in on day one and invade all of you.

So I caved and bought the Fire Fades Edition for 20$ new from Target. Just need to pick it up in the morning.

This is my first Souls game. Anyone here still plays it? I would love to do some co op. I'm even renewing my PS Plus sub to hopefully do co op. I'm scouring YouTube for ideas on a pure Pyromancer or Mage build.

Is there a Souls Era Discord? How does co op work in this game? I'm pretty excited and at the same time kicking myself for not getting into this series sooner to go through it with you all.

Watching these YouTube channel and I have no idea what they're talking about. Lol.. I have so much to learn about when it comes to the lore and if I want to build my character good.

PSN Frost-Fiend

Just in case any of you are interested in Co Op

I don't remember how well multiplayer is introduced in Dark Souls 3, but the gist of it is that you spend a resource to recruit helpers who will hang around until you or they die or you kill a boss. While this is happening you can also be invaded by hostile players, but if you're summoning you'll usually have the advantage in those situations.

Word of warning: pure magic builds are tough to pull off in Dark Souls 3 and have a rough start as their casting points requires you to sacrifice healing slots and enemies can close the difference very easily. Pyromancies are probably the most workable on a first playthrough. Just know that it isn't _overly_ hard to reroll your stats and specialties later on.

Is there a way to banish an invader? I have been playing through DS3 without being embered unless I want to summon an NPC for a boss fight. Thing is when I'm embered automatically after defeating a boss I just play on. Right after Pontiff Sulyvahn, I was invaded for the first time by two invaders at once and of course they butchered me when I was just trying to play the level. I don't know what any of the online multi-player items do because I don't pay attention to any of them. I know there is an item where I can summon my own help, but I'm just not into PvP on my first run through the game. If there isn't an item that banishes an invader, can I just quit the game and continue? I know this is part of the game and it's not their fault and all, but fuck those two dudes!

You can't banish an invader and the game wont let you quit while someone's in your world. The area after Pontiff is the busiest PvP spot, with a covenant that automatically invades embered players.

You can die intentionally at Firelink to avoid invasions and easily recover your souls. Then you can ember just before a boss fight to summon help. If you can do without messages and coop, you can set the game to offline in the network settings. That way you can stay embered and not worry about PvP.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think about setting the game offline completely since I do like the messages and I would do co-op if I absolutely need to for a boss. But if I did play offline, would being embered still allow me to fight NPC invaders that appear in certain areas of the game? Or be able to complete, for example, Sirris's quest where at one point you have
to invade and help her defeat Creighton?

Yes, NPC invasions still happen in offline mode. I've completed Sirris' questline offline.

Just a note for PC: Steam still has to be online for NPC invasions to work. So Steam online + DS3 offline = NPC invasions still work.

Man i pretty hyped for Dark Souls remaster.. is it as hard to plat as Dark Souls 3? Not that it was super hard but the farming for the Covenant items was a bitch.. was this also the same way in DS1?

Thanks to whoever told me to get the Thief's Ring. Going through 4-2 now and getting the gold skeletons on the cliffside at the beginning was so much easier. Also this seems like a really good place to grind souls, so gonna get my faith up so I can wield the meat cleaver before I continue on through the level.

Should I let Patches trick me? I didn't look down the hole but I figured there might be loot down there along with the certain death.

Last night I tried dusting off my PS3 (hadn't used it in about a year) to check the online status of Demon's Souls and play with a friend. We never did finish that old "challenge" (low-level capped, PBWT, me fatrolling and him no-shielding) coop run.

An hour of fiddling later, having to recharge my dead DS3 controller, find the old password of my alt PSN account (because Demon's only had 4 character slots per PSN and of course I need more), trying wireless first because now the PS4 is what is wired, failing, going wired...

Nope. Won't work. I connect to PSN just fine. I start the game and see Atlus' welcome message, indicating that I am online. I load the game without errors. But once I'm in the game... ghost town. No bloodstains, no messages. The blue eye stone can be used, but of course no one sees my sign to summon me.

I remember this "silent offline error" from before, but usually restarting the game did the trick. This time nothing did. :( My friend saw ghosts and bloodstains just fine.

Dammit. :(

Those Bloodlickers in Bloodborne is no joke, they hit hard as fuck and are impossible to dodge.

Please help.
A high-stagger weapon like the transformed Kirkhammer can stunlock them. Otherwise you're a bit SOL.

The plat is way easier in DS1 than the later two games, the drop rates aren't anywhere near as ghastly and the farming doesn't require you to get so many of each covenant reward (except humanity, which is a bit different and easy to come by any way). No idea if the remaster will be exactly the same though - just going on the existing game as is.

Always let Patches have his way!

The main miracle merchant is down there, and Patches also becomes a useful merchant himself back at the Nexus
- One of the tendency events involves this area too if you intend to go for them.

They stagger more easily if you hit their blood sack, so try to aim for that. Dodge their first swipe to get to their sides, but watch out for their back kick.

Cainhurst is a really cool looking area.

The director sure loves his castles / archives. :D
Definitely one of the coolest looking areas in the game.

I feel like Souls games have pretty much exhausted every fantasy setting available multiple times. Ruins, castles, archives, dungeons, villages, swamps, forests, and so on. You can only do those things so many times before they start to look repetitive.

So apparently Bloodborne Complete Edition was on sale for $13 during the PSN holiday sale? I've had a PS4 for less than a month now and am a little sad that I missed that sale... The complete edition didn't have a physical release in the US so I'm stuck waiting for another sale, probably during Nov/Dec of 2018 lol. Oh well.

It's been on sale a couple of times. I would guess it at least happens again by Golden Week if not sooner.

Added you but Sony Era Discord talked me out of buying Dark Souls 3 for now and talked me into getting Monster Hunter World. I already made the commitment.

Cool man.. maybe we can play monster hunter together.. when does it release

Just found Rom in Bloodborne, loving it! Thinking of beating it and trying to defeat the Old Hunters DLC.

I think you should play a bit more before dropping into the DLC.. DLC is pretty hard to go in without decent upgraded weapons it think

Been thinking about Bloodborne a lot lately (probably gonna play through it again pretty soon) and one of the things I thought was "Man, Cainhurst was such an amazing level in so many ways. I just wish that it was longer."

Seriously, if Cainhurst was just a little bit longer, it would probably be one of my favorite areas in any video game. No other level felt more like a 3D Castlevania game to me. It felt more like Castlevania than the Lords of Shadows games did.

Also, the Research Hall is a fantastic area as well. The atmosphere and the sheer sense of dread and hopelessness is palpable. The room with all of the patients writhing around, screaming and begging for death actually really affected me emotionally and made me tear up a little bit. I can't really remember the last time I was so immersed in a game. Such an intense and amazing area.

What I'm trying to say is that Bloodborne is pure genius and a fucking work of art and I think I'm gonna play it again pretty soon.

I'm already planning my build for the remaster. Can't wait to farm for the bss in 60fps.

I have as well. It's a perfected version of my first Dark Souls character who was a bit of a mess, being my first playthrough and all.

Full Black Knight set, able to use all Black Knight weapons, fast roll, enough attunement for chaos fireball and power within, all while under SL 120.

I am ready to invade.

haha shit, was watching an old ENB video and Dark Souls was initially going to be called Dark Race, that name in todays climate.

Dark Ring was another possible choice.

Thank god both of them were not picked.

My Bloodborne run was pretty good until the fucking Bloodstarved Beast. I'm out of blood vials, antidote, fire paper and bullets. Seems like I have to grind through Yharnam several times to try the beast another time...

Oh definitely. The main reason I wanted to get Dark Souls 3 and ended up getting Monster Hunter World and renewing my PS Plus sub was because I'm in the co op mood. I want to co op with people so for sure let's team up and co op in Monster Hunter World and I'm even redownloading Bloodborne we can even do that if you want to.

If you need to grind early game, spawn at the second lantern (up the ladder/near the gate), and kill the guys with guns in the house for bullets, and kill the brick trolls for vials. Maybe even take the lift down to the big bridge where the fire ball rolls along just before Father G, and kill those enemies there as well.

I don't get how people have so much trouble with the Blood-Starved Beast. Killed him first try (admittedly he killed me in the same second with poison, lol), didn't seem hard, certainly not on the caliber of Vicar Amelia.

BSB is dodge left, the boss. So long as you do that, you're practically untouchable. This was a fight I did with him recently. He's a bit of a clumsy oaf.

With Amelia you just smack her legs around. I don't find too many of the base game bosses to be very difficult. Logarius perhaps, but I haven't died to him since my first playthrough where he was kicking my ass over and over again then. One of the few times my heart was racing after a boss fight.

One of the possible final bosses is probably the only one I would consider hard.
