Has anyone actually seen the original Korean The Good Doctor?

I can't picture it being remotely similar and someone thinking " Lets remake that!"

Don't hate on The Good Doctor, this show is amazing.

In this episode they have a patient that might be a terrorist because of chemicals in her body that either come from drinking, making chemical weapons, working in a water-treatment plant, or working in the pharmaceutical industry. But she's a muslim and doesn't want alcohol in her system and she's a school teacher, so it can only be the one remaining thing.

This show is garbage and it's amazing.

I've seen it. It's very very different. The only similarities at this point are the protagonist having autism (I also feel it's way more severe in the original but I've only seen a couple of episodes of the remake, portrayed quite differently), his relationship with the chairman of the hospital, and the relationship between the attending and the lawyer of the hospital.

It's good background noise at least, when nothing else is on.

Better Late Than Never is a fun travel show but idk if they could possibly do another season.

I do enjoy watching four living legends and Jeff Dye shoot the shit though.

I like it too. Would be nice if they could have another season. I'm always amused as how much George Foreman wants to sleep all the time

Another Period (trashy downton abbey, comedy central style) and Drunk History are both back as of last night.

Anyone watch Alienist?

General critical consensus seem to be: generic serial killer drama in pretty fancy costumes.
Which is kind of the vibe I got from the trailers, so that's disappointing (at least I don't have to hunt it down, fuck Swedish TNT for not having any streaming service).

A television network orders show about an atheist who friends God on Facebook.
The network has ordered a pilot from Greg Berlanti's shingle called God Friended Me. Penned by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, with Berlanti and Sarah Schechter executive producing, the pilot offers to be an "uplifting" story about a lippy atheist whose "life is turned upside down when he is 'friended' by God on Facebook. Unwittingly, he becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him."
Guess which network it was?

I really enjoyed Eli Stone (also a Berlanti production, created by Marc Guggenheim IIRC) though I don't think they were as explicit about it being "God" vs. just "a higher power" which for me personally is a more interesting premise. But I'm open to this show depending on execution. Couldn't much get into Kevin (Probably) Saves the World, though we only tried one and a half eps or so.

There was also a Japanese drama last year called Boku Unmei no Hito desu, basically "I'm your destiny," where a water sales worker gets an unexpected drop-in from "God," basically a pushy millennial who inserts himself into his life, hangs out in the protagonist's apartment, and gives urgent Hitch-style advice on how to get together with a woman in the next office over, in order to eventually create a child who will save the world from an eventual apocalypse. Very sweet and funny show.

Oh Black Lightning is a Netflix show here in the UK like Jane, iZombie and Crazy-Ex. Interesting.

That almost certainly means Sky passed on it.

Which is interesting. Could backfire if they ever change their mind and retcon it in to the Arrowverse (which doesn't seem very unlikely tbh).

I don't think Sky had a great screenings last year. I assume they were pressured by Disney into buying Inhumans in exchange for something else they actually needed, but they seem to have given them a marketing commitment too. And they passed on Runaways.

Eh, things almost never hold from their premiere. That's a really solid rating for BL. It should have a long run on The CW.

LOL, Flash is on a constant drop since the crossover.
Meanwhile the show that actually got a bump is stupidly sitting out right now.
What they're doing on the Flash is a bad plotline. It feels like the show doesn't want to just let its title character be a superhero. In season 3 he was moping and worrying about his lover dying. Now he's gone to prison and sitting out from crimefighting. I kind of get what they're trying to do, but they also clearly don't understand why people actually watch these shows. I'm not surprised at all that people are tuning out.

To be fair, that's why we have Ralph, right? At least we have a superhero doing superhero things while Barry's out of commission. The show would be a lot worse off without him.

Sure, at the very least they are having fun this year and making it campy instead of the mopey soap opera it was last year. But Ralph is also a very acquired taste and I can see him not being very appealing to a portion of the audience. And the show ultimately is still called The Flash. People want to see Barry. Due to his predicament now a significant amount of each episode is dedicated to whatever he's doing in prison, which frankly isn't very interesting and has a very low chance of mattering long term.

Between Buzz and Ratings I think BL will be alright

Season 5 of Flash needs a complete overhaul

Black Lightning was never going to increase, that's still a pretty small drop from the pilot.

Flash's ratings steadily dropping on the other hand.

At least in the Flash's case it is the fourth season, and viewer decay is pretty common for a show coming up on five years old. Maybe it's a quality thing, but I think it might just be that the show is getting old and after a while it'll settle around a pretty consistent baseline.

Kreisberg is gone now. Let's hope some of the good writers want to come back now that the pos is not working there anymore. Flash might improve again.

Amazon at the bottom. What a surprise. /s MTV being dead last makes sense for a reality TV standpoint too.

Ultimately the show is under the guidance of the showrunner. Kreisberg being off creates the potential for someone with new and exciting vision to take his place, but that's not a guarantee. And Kresiberg was the main person responsible for both the show's highs and lows up to this point. There aren't "Good writers" that left/were fired under his reign that suddenly caused the show to get worse. That's not how it works.
