I love scary games and I think Fatal Frame is still avery niche franchise that could do great in today's horror gaming landscape, with VR, AR and many FP horror games I think it's the best moment to reboot the franchise or give us a sequel.

What do you think?

I think I only played two of these, but they're the creepiest games I've played by a decent margin. Which ones are available in NA, and on what platforms?

I played on Xbox. Loved the original as a kid even though it scared the living shit out of me.

I used to love the first episode, one of my favorite horrific games with Siren 1 and Silent Hill 1. Not a fan of the latter episodes though.

I think the whole franchise is in the west between WiiU, 3DS, ps2 and PS3

The Wii episode (Tsukihami no kamen) is missing, if I'm not mistaken.

User has been warned: console warring parody post. History of similar behaviour.
Would be nice to tuck into bed on a cold night and play Fatal Frame on PS4 in 4k with earbuds in.

Love Fatal Frame. It was one of the first horror series I got into as a kid. The atmosphere just drew me in and had me hooked.

Oh yes we absolutely do, I discovered the IP on Wii after importing 4 and fell in love with it.
Bought all released games afterward.

I played the first Fatal Frame on the Xbox, but Fatal Frame II on the PS2 was one of the most terrifying gaming experiences I've ever had. This whole series is very effectively messed up. Now, having played Resident Evil 7 in VR, I wonder how VR immersion would affect the ghost battles in this series if they tried a VR game.

I really enjoyed the first free episode on the Wii U version, but missed the boat on purchasing the whole pack. Considering that, a Switch relaunch would be nice.

I'll just pop in to say that the controls for Project Zero 2 on the Wii were great and very coherent with the genre of the game. The games could use less titillation, though.

Maiden of Black Water was kind of disappointing, I think Fatal Frame 2 is still the best one, it expanded on what made the first Fatal Frame great without losing focus like I felt the later entries had a problem with.

I should finish 5 sometime. Hard to go back to the Wii U though, even though the damn thing is plugged in. Not sure why

Needs to be scarierer than Maiden of Black Water. That game was enjoyable, but offered little in surprise. Only that one particular shot with the Tall Lady was legit scary. Everything else... guess I'm not easily scared anymore. Second game is my favourite.

Sure I'd love more FF. I'd also like NoA to stop treating it like shit. I don't know where NoA stands now, but during the Wii and WiiU days they were shit when it came to more niche titles.

2's Remake was pretty good btw.

Exactly Fatal Frame 2 is rivaling Silent Hill 2 as one of the best Survival Horror games i have ever played but i don't think any of the other games in the series come even close to it.

The earlier games were pretty tame outside some of the unlockable costumes. Maiden of Black Water was the one that really suffered from it. The dead shrine maiden ghosts were less scary because of their big ol' boobies hanging out of a wet robe. The in game models weren't bad, but the whole female cast looked like literal animated sex dolls. The really high-end expensive type.

I still enjoyed it, but Team Ninja's influence on it was obvious.

I don't if they are a permanent team but the last one came out 4 years ago so I guess the new one will come out in 2019 or the end 2018 in Switch

I have never played a Fatal Frame game but I'd like to try them. I never got an external hdd for my WiiU so had to pass on the most recent one. Will keep an eye out for future releases.

We need more Fatal Frame that goes back to the stark vibe of FF2. And isn't locked to a Nintendo console.

Fatal Frame I & II were fantastic games but I feel the series went downhill after that.
The last game in-particular was kinda lame and weirdly fragmented for me.

....but I'd still like another one.

Fatal Frame only exists since 4 because Nintendo fund, publish and in some cases develop the franchise.

I thought only FF II: Wii Edition, FFIV, Spirit Camera and FFV were owned by Nintendo? And that new iterations only appear on Nintendo consoles because Nintendo keep funding them?

Yeah, you're right.
