Hisoka got a pissed Chrollo on him. I bet he is beyond delighted.

That end shot with the coffins...Gonna be all kinds of dead bodies.
I imagine those coffins are how the King keeps the succession war going. As Kurapika pointed out: if someone drops then the condition should be broken and the nen beasts should disappear.

The war could well end early if the King of Kakin doesn't find a prince's body soon enough to keep the Nen going.

Now we have to wonder where the rest of the Troupe members are. Somewhere on the lower decks with the regular people but I'm guessing they're spread out to look for Hisoka better.

Edit: I also wonder if any new members were inducted in the time between Hisoka and Chrollo's fight and the start of the voyage to the DC.

I'm not sure if Kurapika's assumption is right. Halkenburg already said he resigned from the succession war and nothing happened, with the exception of his bodyguards being knocked out which may or may not be related. It's certainly possible that Halkenburg chickened out and is now back in war, but I'm also thinking it's possible that once you're in, you're in until you die or you're the last person standing.

A thought I had about the creepy pods on the last page was why are there 14 pods if realistically only 13 Princes died. It could be that each of the pods are specially made for each Prince, or maybe the King is also part of the equation. The center capsule also looks like something someone could enter and maybe absorb Nen from the surrounding pods? Interesting stuff.

Hisoka is way in over his head. Sure, it seems like he learned a lesson from just thinking he's invincible and won't blindly run into fights... but the fact remains that he's going after the entire Troupe. And the Troupe look like they're sticking together. The Troupe probably going to get nerfed in terms of intelligence and get separated.

I took him as not being serious about his resignation at all. The dude clearly wants the role and is playing a part.

I doubt Togashi would have had Kurapika come to that realization if it was unimportant. It could be that the Troupe kill a prince and their body doesn't make it's way into the pod, breaking the condition and ending the Nen.

I'm still always reminded by that Togashi blurb of him saying Kurapika and the Troupe will die. He could be double mindfucking all of us.

It's so out of the blue and trollish that our first immediate reaction is: "No way, why would he reveal that" - but then he actually goes through with it and laffs at our despair. Either that or by die he just meant old age or some shit LOL

Spiders are back, Hisoka is confirmed to be on the ship, new mafia families and that last page opens a lot of possibilities for the aftermath of the sucesion.

I been thinking for a long time that Machi is gonna be the one to give Hisoka the killing blow, she was warned him multiple times during the series, so if my prediction is right she's going be safe until near the end.

Oh yeah there's 14 caskets, so means the King is also part of the sucession.
Yeah the center looks like an hatch, the winner of the sucession is gonna receive a major power up.

Hmm yea the fact that Kurapika's realization was highlighted so much does make it seem relevant. I don't think the condition would be void for everyone if a Prince's body doesn't get placed in a pod in a certain amount of time. In this case no conditions are broken because it's exactly what should happen, with the exception of not returning the body. What I think is that, because the existence of the Nen beasts seems reliant on every Prince participating and the King still has a Nen beast, the bodies of the dead Princes might be used to grant the winner more power or a permanent Nen beast. If a body isn't placed in a pod, then the succession war may never be finished. Unless of course there is a time limit to the succession war that we don't know about.

Nen beast fusion? Knowing Togashi, it'll be the opposite of some ugly motherfucker like every other Nen beast.

I wonder what the King means with the "great tree of Kakin" line.

Also how tall is Hisoka? Is he the one over 190cm tha Phinks is looking for?

I think one of the Databooks had him as 185cm [don't quote me on that] so perhaps Phinks just has a rough idea and goes a little above just to be sure.

I dunno, part of me is thinking putting the bodies in the pods is a way to keep their Nen beasts alive and the condition fulfilled.

It might be dual purpose though and also function in the way you say.

Oh man there's gonna be a royal rumble on the boat and I can't wait. So great to see the troupe again, they're mad. Dunno what the king's up to - each dead prince gonna go towards a nen beast powerup for the winner? Gonna be interesting.

Latest English Jump is out, here's Togashi's comment at the end.

"I said I would come back by the end of the year, but it took until 2018. Sorry, I'll do my best."

I'm just glad you came back in such a short span of time.

Lets do a general headcount of relevant characters that are on the boat or part of the expedition in some way.

- Beyond's team: Beyond, Ging, Pariston, Muherr, Golem and the mercenary/temp Hunters.
- The Zodiacs: Kurapika, Leorio and the other Zodiacs.
- The Phantom Troupe
- Hisoka
- The entirety of the Kakin Royal Family. The King, Princes and Wives.
- The Prince body guards: The ones we know the most being Bisky, Melody, Basho, Bill, Hanzo and Izunavi but several new characters have had a surprising amount of focus.
- Knov and Morel
- The new Mafia stuff

lol

It's pretty much every character who's plot thread wasn't wrapped up in the election arc lol

How are we even sure they're not in this boat?
We know Sayiu is already in, heck parts of Kurapika's team is part of Pariston's temp hunter crew.
For all we know they're part of the people below deck.

It's probably like over 1/2 if not 3/4 of relevant character in the series. Who's actually left that's been involved in the last two arcs? It's pretty much just the Chimera Ant invasion crew: Ikalgo, Palm, Shoot, Knuckle, Melereon, Gon and Killua. Which is fine, they all got to be a part of that incredible arc. And besides, Gon has mountains of homework and deciding what he wants to do with his life and Killua's on the run from his crazy family, they're both kinda busy at the moment.

I don't know, but i find it weird that a big mecha would be that easily to enter the ship without drawing attention.
Also they must have some kind of transportation when they go from the "Fake Continent" to the real thing, and when they finally free Beyond and escape. At some point they going to have to get their own boat, because hiding it's not an option anymore.

I'm thinking the Mafia this time might actually be a threat, since they got destroyed so badly in Yorknew City. Them Kakin boys don't play. I'm hoping they have some powerful Nen users who can actually push the Troupe.
