Dragon's Dogma was pretty cool but the man needs to be working his ass on DMC5.

Speaking of sand box concepts, I would like the next game to have something similar done with Evil Within 2 on a rural/suburb small town and design with optional activities. Please Capcom, do this scenario.

up selling a confirmed 8 million and with steam (depending on if they count it or not) sold over 9 million. Unfortunately it's like the Tomb Raider situation with Square Enix.

Dragon's Dogma had potential and they threw it out the window. It was a decent start for a new IP (iirc it was the best selling new IP in Japan on PS3). And even now the PC version is close to selling a million. And it was the type of game where they could easily recycle assets/enemies etc. for future entries.

Imagine if they stopped making Monster Hunter after the first game.

i was surprised years later to see a lot of neutral/negative opinions on zero. i played it long time ago and thought at the time it was so amazing. i think that was the first game you can drop items and switch characters on the fly. but i guess today people don't think it held up well as REmake.

The biggest plus of Zero back in the day were the graphics. That game looks incredible. Other than that, I thought it was rather average and both the two characters and the ability to drop items everywhere just made things more complicated. Enjoyed Code Veronica before it a lot more. Not the worst game in the series (not even of the "old" games), but I don't think it quite holds up to the best.

I remember getting REmake around the same time as RE0 and I only got just after the train before I dropped it until the I went back to it with the HD version. I managed to finish it then and ended up getting all the trophies for the story (still need the kill enemies one in Leech Hunter mode)I enjoyed it, but I just think it's OK., I don't like the lack of item boxes and wasn't too into having a partner follow you around at times. Although, unlocking infinite ammo made me enjoy the game way more since then you don't have to fill your inventory up with ammo and less having to put key items on the ground and then having to backtrack all the way to get them again lol.

Also, it's the best looking classic Resi now with the HD version. Those backgrounds looked amazing.

I do have to give credit to zero (and remake) for their graphics, both of those games still hold up super well.

Zero got few interesting novelties (the before mentioned item dropping and character switching), beautiful graphics (that train, that room with a huge aquarium in Marcus' facility) and some interesting puzzles, but overall it was a rather meh game. Both new features came with annoyances or some stupid artificial limitations (moving items from place to place, smaller inventories, can only hold limited number of items in a room, Rebecca was weak as fuck while Billy couldn't mix herbs etc.); the story was poor and stupid even for RE standards; the enemies and bosses - with few exceptions - were bad; and the game was design with the partner system in mind so it constantly tries to use it, which results in a lot of "let's split up [and send this underpowered character alone]", or "send this item with an item elevator", or "hope you brough back that hookshot with you" scenarios.

I first played RE0 right after REmake, so I thought that just screwed my opinion about the game (that it's still a good game, just worse than REmake). But after playing the HD remaster last year, I hold my opinion. It's still pretty, but rather average RE title - one of my least favorite out of the main series.

I'm playing RE2 (JP ver) on Vita and I'm trying to make things more interesting by limiting myself to two weapons - the handgun and the shotgun, one for general fights and one for boss fights. I don't think there's enough ammo in the game for me to survive on the handgun alone. I had thought it would be more of an uphill battle, but I'm doing pretty well with 132 handgun shots left, having just come up from the basement. I have a feeling the game is going to get ROUGH once I get to the lab, though. No, I'm not a skilled enough player to get by with the knife alone. But I also kind of feel like the knife changes the feel of the gameplay a bit too much, anyways.

I would love to be able to go into the code for this game and rebalance the game. Change the amount of shots each zombie requires (more than JP or NA normal, but less than JP hard), make the appearance of certain weapons/ammo dependent on whether or not you picked it up in another location (as to not punish the player for not figuring out every single hidden location, while not providing too much), etc etc.

I just realised, there is going to be a trophy for a knife-only run for REmake 2, isn't there lol? Actually, I think the no Ink Ribbons run was much more intense. I remember the first time I tried to do that for REmake I died right before the end in the labs, so that was fun. I guess it was my own fault for trying to do the knife-only run and no Ink Ribbons run in one go, though.

I think in REmake 2 it will be much harder to do those two, depending on what they keep and change.

RE5 was a fun COOP experience! Did they patch out the Windows Live stuff on the PC Version? I only played it via Xbox, but it'd be good to play it again.

RE5 becoming a co-op game was one of the best decisions Capcom made (If I'm not mistaken, I believe it was originally supposed to be a "Chris only" adventure.). It rekindled the nostalgia I had for scrolling Beat'em ups from the 90's where the co-op aspect was one of the highlights from that era.

One of my fondest gaming memories is when me and three other friends played the 4 player Arcade TMNT Turtles in Time.
With that said, please bring Outbreak back Capcom!

Going into RE 6 with the right mindset and knowledge about the gameplay systems is essential to having a good time with the game. You have to understand that you aren't getting a finely crafted to perfection experience. RE 6 is essentially a super high budget-B movie that Hollywood would never put the kind of budget behind but Capcom did. Cheesy action heroes doing impossible things to fight off insanely stupid plots concocted by equally stupid villains and to kill a ton of different monsters while they're at it. It's a mess of a game, but it can be really damn fun.

For all the faults RE6 had, It was so satisfying to play raid/mercenaries mode once you mastered the gameplay mechanics.

I experienced some moments that looked straight out of a John Woo action movie

I played through Chris' campaign using nothing but the knife and melee and the combat system was robust enough to allow for it. Chris' Knife Wrasslin' Adventure co starring Piers was a lot of fun.

The main thing is to play RE6 with the right mindset.

Don't expect: a classic RE or horror game

Expect: a horror inspired action game with one of the best TPS combat systems ever

That's how I approached it from the getgo, enjoying it for what it was instead of complaining about what it wasn't.

This.

I had a bunch of zombies swarming me from the front and then saw a barrel from the corner of my eye. Jumped backwards to avoid their attacks and fired at the barrel while in mid air to fry all of them. It wasn't something that I planned but just kind of happened in the spur of the moment, felt like I was in an action movie sequence.

Exactly, stuff like this was awesome when it happened.

I remember I had a kick out of countering those jumping enemies, specially those pink monsters

The countering system is pretty damn satisfying and playing mercs with a friend and getting highest rank, trying to keep the combo staying up.

That's the best thing I have with the game outside its' box office presentation. The game is a hell lot of ufn.

Nah, he's not a mod. He just asked me not to so I won't lol. I know the pain of having a slow browser and low data caps.

My biggest mistake was playing RE6 day one expecting something completely different than what the game was. I hated the game back in the day lol.

RE 6 was my entry point to the franchise and damn near turned me away from the franchise first time I played it, lol. It was actually reading the Nieto thread on the mechanics that got me to give it another shot, which made it go a whole lot better.
