I don't know if it has been asked already, but is it normal that everytime I access the menu, an ad will be displayed for that new DLC, that I always have to close?
It's so annoying that I simply refuse to continue playing until there is a way to disable it.

Or maybe it is already possible and I'm just blind?

I have just started playing this game again and I find this incredibly annoying too. It also comes up every time I go to see my gear and quests. Please say this eventually goes away...

PS4 Pro here.

Why does this game never save my HDR settings? I want it off and am getting tired of having to turn it off every time I boot the game? Today this caused a glitch where my screen went black and I had to turn off my Pro by holding the power button for like 10 seconds.

For some reason or another, Origin's HDR implementation is the worst I've seen in a game yet on my Sony X800D.

Just beat the game and....
I'm glad they're rebooting the real life storyline again, kind of, but man I wish it would have been cohesive through the entire series. Especially with bringing Desmond's dad back.

As for the "Origins" ending, them creating the creed (and where the logo comes from, even though I know where it comes from) was a really cool moment. I DO wish that Aya/Bayek had stayed together, but I understand that sometimes in life relationships end. When I was thinking about it after I finished the game, I realized that all of the "Hey honey let's have sex" stuff stopped after the first few meetings, so I guess they kind of foreshadow them drifting for longer than it happens.

I'm also mad at Aya for throwing the Madjey badge in the ocean, haha.

As a whole, it's probably in my top three AC games.

Also, how's the new DLC? It dropped this weekend, right? No one's played it yet? (I haven't been home)
Fantastic, best Ubisoft DLC by far and for $10 it's a steal.

I think it wraps up the game story nicely and for such I think it's almost required play for anyone who enjoyed the characters in the base game.

The missions themselves are nothing to write home about, but hey, it's more Origins in a great new region and featuring a nice story

Was also hoping the beard would be a mainstay by this point. YES.

How do you get those? Is it paid DLC?

Yep. I'm a fan of the story. There are really cool moments troughout. Loved especially the last quarter of the game; some nice bossfights and the very last location/assassination hit me hard. The ending was very good.

True star of the show were unquestionably Bayek and Aya. One of the best lovestories ever. The whole setup, how it evolves, how it ends and and where it leads to is touching.
Origins is such a great game.

It stops popping up once you travel to Sinai. Baffling design decision.

Weird, game looks amazing when I use HDR. Sony X93E here

Probably highly dependent on local dimming, the X93E according to RTings isn't amazing in this category or anything but certainly a step above my X800D which has no local dimming. So that's probably what helps for you.

Because Origins has so many bright textures even at night, a TV without local dimming just gets completely washed out in my experience. I don't like it, but I don't see a point in upgrading just yet with HDMI 2.1 just around the corner for TV's.

Almost the entire game I was expecting one of them (read: her) to die to some bullshit. I'm glad they didn't go that route and just showed two strong people/parents dealing with their grief. The breakup really does bug me though, haha.

I don't know how big a spoiler it is, since it's in the trailers for the DLC, but
Aya coming back in The Hidden Ones...without saying too much, it's bittersweet and handled well
.

I was gonna reply and say I wasn't going to look at the spoiler because I'm about to start the DLC...but you see the plain text when you reply, hahaha.

Awesome, can't wait.

-----------------------

Follow up questions (to everyone) -

I have some "Something At Sea" mission listed as a main quest still along with the DLC mission now.

Is WhateverTheSeaThingIs part of the DLC? Or was that part of the main game.

Also - is there a list of all the classic club challenges for ACO somewhere? I'm trying to do all of them but it's easier for me if I look at a list that's not built into UPlay, haha.

Ah, sorry about that.

The sea quest was a DLC thing. Aya and that captain vs. some ships. It's alright, but I wasn't wild about the boat stuff in Origins.

As for Uplay challenges - download the Ubisoft Club app. Works a lot faster to pull up your phone than whatever weird slow in-game browser every Ubisoft game works with.

It's all good, not your fault.

Okay, I'll try that out, and thanks for the info on the boat thing. I REALLLLLYYYYYY don't like the few boat missions in ACO.

Is the one Club Challenge REALLY to spend uPlay points on all the items in the game? That's kinda lame...

"Obtain all club rewards from the store"?

I have that challenge completed and definitely don't have all of the items purchased. They've added a bunch since I last looked, so it may just be to buy the ones originally listed? I'm honestly not sure.

But yeah, "spend hundreds of Uplay points to earn a handful" is a lousy challenge, especially when most of those weapons are only worthwhile in the early game.

Thank you for answering all of my questions today :)

And it's hundreds of points for a badge (I just double checked), not even some Uplay points back, haha. I apparently have this challenge done in other games too, so I must have just burnt through all the points I've always had as I've played stuff.

Is anyone else getting choppy framerates after the 1.2.1 patch? Ordinarily I couldn't give a rat's ass about framerates, but this feels like it's dropping below 30 fps, even. I've reset my XBox just in case, but I haven't gone back in to check if that's fixed the problem.

On the Pro the game runs flawless after the patch. Looks and feels phenomenal.

Everything seemed okay framerate-wise after the reset. Then I got to a cutscene near the end of one of the side missions, and boom...infinite loading screen. It seems to have straightened itself out now, though. Here's hoping there aren't any more glitches.

So are there any benefits of different armor sets and mounts or is it all purely cosmetic.

I never see armor or mount stats at the vendor....

Was just thinking, I'd love for a new AC trilogy starring Bayek, with him going to other areas of the Roman Empire at this time.

Gaul, Rome itself, the Holy Land. They probably wouldn't have the balls to set a game in/around Jerusaleum shortly after old mate Jesus' birth, but IMAGINE kicking around those ancient cities and temples as Bayek.

Since the team is multi-cultural with all sorts of beliefs, you never know.

Hell, they could have you ride with the three wise men and protect them on the way to drop off "gifts".

Yeah I'm down for a Bayek trilogy too. Hell of a debut for him.

I just hope Bayek proves that they don't need to make every main character in this series either grim and serious or, uh, Ezio.

That said I'd totally be down for more Bayek games.

Jesus is a sage according to the lore i think and he used lots of pieces of Eden, like, 4 or 5.

Ubisoft don't have the balls to do it, but a game revolving around hin would be amazing.

It doesn't have to portray him negatively either (After all, at face value nothing that Jesus said was bad) but I so think it requires a very good writer to pull it off.

Game is so weird on the pro. For certain periods of time it looks otherworldly amazing, and then the LOD problems strike back again. I don't know what they are doing but it's definitely inconsistent.
Since three days now the game decided to switch in the "Lod issue phase" again.
It looked absolutely stellar last week, to the point i spent 15€ on cosemetics alone.

Glad it's not just me noticing this.

For now the game looks stellar didn't notice any graphical issues for two weeks now. There are neglectable minor texture streaming issues occasionally (general problem of the pro).

That said the amount of detail, scale, lightning and draw distance is absolutely staggering. The AA solution is also impeccable.
I love this game.

I love this game.

I'm just playing on a 1080p display and I find it unfortunate that any kind of "performance gains" on Pro don't seem to include improvements to LOD/pop-in.

Jesus wasn't a sage, and he's only been confirmed as using the Shroud, I'm pretty sure.

Al Mualim implies he used the Apple, but he's full of shit on a good day.

Altair codex says he was similar to people who probably came back again and again (Mitra) and thought it was probably the same person being reincarnated. That was the inspiration for the Sage storyline, which I admit, was whack.
Altaïr's codex says:
Attis. Dionysus. Horus. Krishna. Mithra. Jesus. Similar stories color their lives. Too similar, I think. Divine birthright. Persecution. Disciples. Miraculous acts. Resurrection...

How is it possible?

Perhaps it isn't... Merely a single story told over the ages? Borrowed then changed to fit the times? Evolving as our tools and language do? Is this tale borne of fact or fiction? A bit of both? Could these figures be the same person – their life extended and transformed by a Piece of Eden?

Al Mualim spoke of Jesus as a real person – a mortal who had mastered the arts of manipulation. But what if he was wrong? If these men are real – and if they have walked amongst us many times before – does it mean they'll come again? Perhaps they are here now? So many questions, and every day, even more...
At the end that's just Altaïr's speculation about the use of a PoE. He's never been implied to be a Sage, really.

Though, to be fair, I didn't know that was the inspiration for the Sages. That's neat.

I seriously need to get back into this game. Only played like 6 hours and took a break. Decided I should start Mr. Robot and it's sucked all my time away. On the last season though. Then it's back to origins.

The more obvious problem with setting it around Jesus' birth is that Bayek would be 85 years old at that point, which would stretch willing suspension of disbelief to a pretty absurd degree. "Hey sonny, wheel me up to that viewpoint, wouldja? I'm gonna do a leap of faith!"

Easy. Bayek at some point finds an Apple of Eden that prolongs life.

Yeah, it's high time for a mainline AssCreed game with a female lead protagonist and Aya would be a great starting point. Evie was my character of choice in Syndicate (I much preferred her cane to Jacob's fists), but the main mission line is split between her and Jacob, with the latter having the lion's share, so it doesn't quite count.
