Well, philosophically there is an underlying issue with the Good and Bad Place already that completely contradicts Buddhist and Hindu religions, which are like 1/3'd or more of Earth, plus of course atheism, etc. I'd imagine any real end game confronts that as well, in a sort of "this was all a personal test" kind of way. The longer the show goes on the more rickety its going to get, so yeah hopefully the runners and writers have a pretty solid 3-4 season plan. I just really have no idea what could happen next season and am very curious where the finale will end things.

I want it to end sooner rather than later. Four seasons would be perfect. I don't want them to bring in new people, only to have the main cast act as mentors. Or rely on gimmicks, like setting an entire season in some crazy realm. Since this is the afterlife they can pretty much do anything and that's what scares me.

Sadly, I think this will keep going until NBC cancels it. So I can see it reaching at least six seasons, and at least two of them will probably suck.

Love how this show and Superstore both had Bloodline jokes in their back to back time slots. Synergy!

I didn't think that was ambiguous. Eleanor has described how hot Tahani is at length at several points.
Yeah, I'm not sure what they need to confirm. Too bad it will most likely stay as a joke, I doubt the series will ever go in that direction at this point.
What I mean is them actually using the word bisexual and Eleanor saying it. It's a real problem with bisexual representation, which is why Rosa coming out in Brooklyn Nine Nine was so great.

The new show grown-ish (black-ish spinoff on Freeform) has a bi character in the main cast.

My guess is that Tahani and Eleanor is the end-game.

Or a polyamorous relationship between Tahani, Chidi, and Eleanor with Jason endng up with Janet.

A few weeks ago I had never heard of this show, until some YouTuber just mentioned it in passing, and I just had to try it out, a network TV comedy about the afterlife. I had very low expectations, especially since I've been getting into the high budget shows made by HBO, Netflix, and Amazon, but DAMN, I ended up binge-watching The Good Place, it's so amazing.

Since it's been a while since I watched network TV, I didn't think of the number of episodes per season, and really thought the episode where they finally left The Good Place on the train was the season finale - it sure felt like one, where the entire next season would be all about the real Bad Place; any other show would have done that. But suddenly there was a new episode - and I realized season 2 was still going. Such a fast-paced show. I'll be sad after this week's finale, but at least I have something to look forward to next year!

I like you. It feels deliberate that they spent little time this season compared to the first. And thent there was that one tease of the scenario if then being soulmates. Things could go either way. :/

A poly relationship would be interesting but there has been nothing in season two to suggest Tahani has anything for Chidi in this iteration. She was wish washy about her feeling at the end of season one.

Despite shipping Eleanor and Tahani hard, I would be okay with Eleanor and Chidi being end game. They do have chemistry, a bit less this season.

In terms of relationships, everything feels up in the air except for Tahani and Jason bring shut down.

This wait for the finale is painful and then there will be the wait for season three. :(

Assuming the ending of the show leaves them in a good or neutral afterlife, I don't think they have an endgame. They have eternity! Everyone will have time for everything eventually, and I'd assume even the strongest relationships would need a little breather after a few thousand years.

Which is a roundabout way of saying if the show tries to flash through a bunch of stuff to give us a long-term view of where the characters spend their afterlives, we better see everyone pairing with everyone at one point or another.

I'm watching the show on PlayStation Vue so I'm a week behind but man was that 11th episode (Rhonda, Diana, Jake and Trent) fantastic. Despite loving the twist at the end of season 1, I was unsure of where they could take the plot in season 2. Needless to say I no longer have any doubts about this show.

They're gonna get to the Good Place, then Chidi will have a nervous breakdown, grow a beard, then turn around to Eleanor and scream "WE HAVE TO GO BACK"

Season finale tonight! I don't have cable. How soon do the episodes go up on Hulu?
Probably too late to set something up tonight but OTA antennas are pretty great and easy as long as you have a window pointed in the right direction. It's still how I'm primarily watching most of my TV without having to pay a subscription.

The episodes usually go up a little after around midnight-1 AM PST; I'm tempted to try to catch the actual airing tonight, but Hulu occasionally gets extended cuts and they never feel padded.

^^^The threshold for anybody to get into the Good Place is extremely high, I don't think Tahani really did much bad either besides being really self-obsessed. I doubt hardly anybody is actually in the Good Place based on the rules of the show.

Do we know that the points-system and particularly the threshold for getting into the Good Place that we've been told are accurate?

I'd thought that the fact only 1% of humanity could attain the ridiculously high standard required was another hint that something was a little off with the neighborhood, and it added another wrinkle to the torture and comedy in that Eleanor had to blend in with the best and most selfless paragons of humanity.

If it actually is accurate as presented then it makes for some pretty harrowing fridge logic.

Season finale tonight:
Somewhere Else

MICHAEL MAKES A PLEA AND ELEANOR LOOKS TO TAKE THE HIGH ROAD IN THE SEASON TWO FINALE - Michael (Ted Danson) tries to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Kristen Bell, Jameela Jamil, William Jackson Harper, Manny Jacinto and D'Arcy Carden also star.

It might not be that strict, but I still think it is fairly high entry barrier. The show has been able to bend and mold what is allowed, I'm looking forward to how the season finale shakes things up tonight.

Maybe this is a simulation. Next season could be them doing a bunch of real world resets.

So Season 3 is Eleanor and Chidi's lessons in being a good person?

Quite the shift...hope Jason and Tahani come back.
