The games are developed concurrently, which means that giving Origins another year ALSO gave the game behind it one more year and so on.
Would this game be set for a 2018 release or would it be 2019 to go with Ubi saying they will spend more time on each entry?
I'm sure Ubi has like 85 teams so this could be like 5 teams that didn't already work on other projects/Origins, but hmm...

I hope not. AC:O was excellent because they had the time to create a massive world dense with quality story moments. Turning out another game of that scale in a year is going to create a compromised product.
I also hoped that Watch Dogs 3 might hit this year, allowing those two to get on an alternating schedule.
Been waiting for this. Forbidden Palace, Great Wall, picturesque locales like in my wuxia flicks, cool chinese weapons, french accents coming from chinese peeps.
I hope they remove the RPG bullshit that was in Origins. As much i enjoy Origins, it got old and kind of boring so fast. I love my yearly Assassins Creeds. I'm hoping for a Syndicate vibe at least.

I'd be happy. We finally get a China game thats not the mediocre chronicles (shame we lost Shao Jun to it).
I think moving straight back to the yearly entries is a mistake. I get the thought process behind having a major hit every year, but I still think they could probably get better bang for their buck sticking to bi-yearly entries and instead supporting the previous game for an extra year of DLC between games.

If you don't think Dynastic China isn't a great and under-explored setting for a game, you're nuts, honestly. Wuxia Assassin's Creed sounds incredible.
Hopefully they dial back the open world and RPG aspects. ACO was a massive overcorrection. Its too big.

They do set it up. And honestly I wouldn't want another team to tackle that story. Give 2/3 years to Ismail's team to release it, and make another filler game in between.
As this is probably made by the Unity team I expect trash. Prettiness, but trash still.
The reasons to support this being China-based are flimsy at best, especially hooking on to the "dynasty" aspect. Dynasties are also synonymous with Ancient Egypt, don't forget. This is very likely to be a sequel to Origins instead.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a game set in China but I see this being Bayek's next game instead.

I hope not. Dialing back the open world would turn me back into no buy AC games.
Origins is the only AC I truly enjoyed.

Too big, shoot level gating into the sun
My only problem with the game going for this setting is I can't name a single historical Chinese figure. A big aspect of the game is meeting with historical figures. So far the games have been in pretty well known settings so most people know the context of the historical figures. I don't think as many people know about Chinese history.
