You can easily debunk rumor lists by how safe they are or how delusional.

SAFE ASS BETS:
+ Any combo of Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Bayonetta 3, or Metroid Prime 4
+ Luigi's Mansion 3. Dark Moon sold nearly six million, of course they're gonna make another one.
+ Animal Crossing. See above but double the numbers
+ *insert old ass port*

STUFF THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN
+ FFXV
+Any western AAA game hitting at the same time as PS4/Xbone
+ A new good Paper Mario

MAN LEAKS
+Labo tier out of the box thinking
+New IP with a distinct suffice summary
+Obvious yet also invokes "How did we not guess that?" ala LA 3DS (may be completely false but it falls under this category)

Paper Mario is my #1 or #1A game of all time, but we ain't getting anything close to it from that series again.

Super Paper Mario is good though.

Industry insider Marcus Sellars has come out and claimed that a brand new Mario Party Game is being developed for the Switch.

ND Cube are developing Mario Party 11 for the Nintendo Switch and is scheduled for release in 2019.
— Marcus Sellars (@Marcus_Sellars) February 3, 2018

The game will be developed by the studio (ND Cube) that worked on Wii Party, Wii Party U, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and the last entries of Mario Party franchise (9 for Wii, 10 for Wii U, Island Tour for 3DS, Star Rush for 3DS and the Top 100 for 3DS).

Also:

The long awaited firmware update for the Nintendo Switch is coming in Q1 and will bring OS tweaks and brand new features. I'll update this post when I get new information.

Isn't he unreliable as hell?

Nevertheless, should still go in OP so we have a record of his reliability whether it turns out true or false

Ignorance or Naive so either one. Also there are more young kids on Twitter so they would fell for it easily.
Like I said, the only reason I humored it is because it seemed to be the same leaker from last year. Nothing to do with ignorance or naivete. It just seems silly to instantly dismiss someone with such a credible past.

Rule of thumb to make a fake leak:

1) Don't say anything about E3 until April or May. If you want to make a fake rumors about background or setting then wait until like a couple of weeks before the E3 event happens.

2) Don't share where you got your information from and where your source was working for. Because it's so fake and smart people doesn't tried to get their sources getting fired.

3) Don't share too much details about development because it's more likely that you don't know anything about it. For example, they were considering between Bleu and Nina from Breath of Fire to be a playable character in MVCI. At the end, they chose Nina to repping the franchise. It's more likely that you don't know any shit. There are very small percent of leaks that actually are real with those kind of retails. I would say about 5-8%.

4. Be vague as heck so you can get information right easily but rumors being so vague would make it easy to believe that you are fake. Since real leaks is often to be specific like rosters, etc, etc.

------

I'm not surprised that people believed in it on the twitter since they believe like half of fake news, like people actually believe that Titanic is a movie, rather than a historical event that actually happened in the past.

Never say 'the twitter' ever again.

I want to speculate about Emily's third party rumors. I'm very excited for Japanese third party games. I'm hoping she meant we're getting a lot of new third party games this year. Maybe we could see a FFVIR coming to Switch? Or a new Super Mario RPG collaboration with Square.

I hope Nintendo does another Last Story 2 collaboration also. I really hope Emily is referring to stuff like that and not some Assassin Creed game.

When I say Switch will have good third party support, I'm sure everyone will have different expectations. The definition of "Good Third Party Support" changes from person-to-person. Some people prefer Japanese games, some people prefer western. Some people only want exclusive titles (Super bomberman R, Mario + Rabbids) while others are content with Switch ports of multi-platform titles. Some people want newer third party titles, others are fine with remasters of older third party stuff (Skyrim, Dark Souls, LA Noire). Some people view indie games as real third party support, some people don't care about indie games at all.

But overall, I think Nintendo Switch's third party support is closer to GameCube levels of third party support. (Including AAA + Indies).

It's worth pointing out that I made my statement about Switch's "strong" third party support days before the January 11th Direct.

For example: On January 9th, I teased that Dark Souls Switch would be announced at the January 11th Direct. So at the time, I considered "Dark Souls" as one of the many big third party Switch titles to be announced in 2018.

For some people, having an amazing game like Dark Souls on a portable Nintendo machine is a big deal. For others, the reaction might just be, "Meh, Dark Souls is an old 2011 game, who cares."

Dark Souls Remastered releasing day and date on Switch at the same price as others is definitely a big get for the console, if there are multiple other announcements like that coming this year it would already be massively better than last year.

That leak is too good to be true. We will be getting 1 or 2 of the following: Animal Crossing, Smash, Metroid, Bayonetta 3, Mario Maker, 2D Mario or Pokemon

not all of the above

I think an important distinction here for many is whether or not those games are new games currently in the zeitgeist, relatvely late ports of current gen games or remasters from PS360 era.

For example, some might be impressed with a new Tales entry, be it exclusive or multi, less impressed with a Berseria port and completely unimpressed with Vesperia Remaster.

Personally, I would be ecstatic if I got ALL of the above categories in some capacity.

Aw man, I was hoping that it was going to be more of Wii levels of third party support since I believe that studios did more unique titles during that time.

Although I suppose things will continue to improve as long as the Switch keeps selling.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't be impressed by a Berseria port but I would happily welcome it since I want to play it again.

I would definitely be impressed by a Vesperia remaster since I never played the original.

I used the Tales as an example merely to illustrate the categories I was speaking about, I'm well aware that there is a demand for Vesperia, probably more than a Switch port of Berseria.

Some of the third-party Gamecube titles were REmake, RE4, Viewtiful Joe, Timesplitters 2, Beyond Good and Evil, Tales of Symphonia, Star Wars Rogue Leader and more.

I assume this was throughout Gamecube's lifespan. So far, Mario+Rabbids, Rocket League, DOOM and Skyrim are good examples so I hope it gets even better in 2018 and beyond. Hopefully it matches Gamecube's level in the long-term.

holy shit, a new Mario Party game and there will be a firmware update that fixes things and adds things?

could this also mean that it gets dark at night and the date changes when the clock strikes midnight?

This does not belong in the OP, it's like saying there will be a new Mario game made by EPD Tokyo and there will be a Nintendo Direct sometime in the Fall. I mean, quote me. I will be your 100% leak success source. lol

I hope everyone realizes we don't need to artificially fill this thread with random crap just to keep it going.

Problem with the 3rd party support we currently have is that, while great, it's not enough to really carry the Switch. Emily said this year would be less focused on 1st party games to let 3rd party ones shine. Sounds great, but if a Dark Souls port is the typical example of what to expect we're in for a rough year.

Sure GTA 5 would be huge, Tomb Raider would be nice, Dark Souls, Wolfenstein... but it's good the same way Wii U ports are good. It's not exciting, it doesn't get people talking as much. The biggest new 3rd party game this year might as well be DQ11 and we don't even know if it's really there.

So yeah, Dark Souls is nice, but it's not "carry the year while 1st party games take a backseat" nice.

Dark Souls is a remaster releasing day and date with all other platforms, like LA Noire. It's not exactly an old port, though I guess similar.

Like I said above I think something like Borderlands 3 or Diablo 4 would be a much bigger announcement if it has release parity, since that's not a remaster but a brand new AAA western multiplat. I don't think we've had any of those come to the Switch yet with release parity (FIFA and NBA2k/WWE2k were all gimped either with features or retail release date).

Something like CoD would also work but I think that's a bit more expected than the examples I put above.

Yeah, everyone is different. Most of the concerns right now seem to be getting third party games day and date. Also, getting brand new third party games day and date. More are jumping on now because they were hesitant with the Switch after Wii U, so I understand games coming later right now. There's also the problem with the Switch carts being more expensive and not as big. This doesn't get enough attention because it may not be worth it to a third party dev to spend more money on a 32 GB card if the returns aren't there. Or their game just can't fit and it's too much of a hassle and money cost for them.

Well since MOTHER 3 is part of the rumors list...I think this is a good chance to talk about it releasing in September. How many of you think whatever Nintendo's VC ends up being will also launch in September with the online?

I think it will and I think Nintendo will want to start off with a bang. What are the most requested games that gamers have been asking for? The answer would be Gamecube games and Mother 3. I think Mother 3 or at least one Gamecube title will be on the Switch in September when the online launches. I'm going with both since many insiders have said Mother 3 is a thing. It was supposed to come to Wii U, but that got scrapped for good reasons.

Have any insiders like Zhuge or Emily heard any new info on Mother 3?
