If I didn't like the first three chapters of Spring Weapon that Viz put up for their Jump Start, and chance I'd like the rest of it at all? Willing to change my mind for sure, but I just recall it doing nothing for me and being kind of confused how it's stuck around.

It's a series that emphasizes sudden visual gags (which I'm a sucker for), so it really depends on your humor circuitry. Initially it felt like it was going through the motions, but it's gotten funnier as it went on (mainly by Volume 2's end; as a reference, that's around when I think Gintama found its voice)
For what it's worth, it just started its first serious arc, so I'm assuming that's the make-or-break transition that'll decide the series' future.
Really, I'd like to know what's going on with the series as well! I can't think of any other Jump series that's continued for this long with such low sales, although I'm not complaining.
Edit: Oh, and there's finally been some interest by other parties to, uh, "translate" it, so you may have your chance soon.
Orange Marmalade- 1st half[story]
So I finished reading Orange Marmalade and have some overall thoughts.
The story-
Don't want to spoil too much so I'll keep it short. For those, who don't know, Orange Marmalade is about Mari who's lives as vampire in secret while in High school. One day she suddenly nibbles on something sweet and, low and behold, it's Jaemin, the like, most popular guy at school, the troubles ensue. All in the year 20XX.
Frankly speaking, I thought I wouldn't enjoy this kind of story since it's been done before. The main romance doesn't pick until like chapter 50 and at 119 chapters long, my expectations for major developments had been diminished. Yet I stuck around and the second half is easily more interesting than the first half for better and for worse. First half is like the usual romance, girl meets guy, guy chases girl, girl meets another guy, etc. The second half is where painful drama really happens. Hearts ache, blood spills, random events occur, etc. You know, the good stuff. It can't be a romance work without good ol' drama *coughs*. I heard it was weekly at the time of release so people really must have had angst waiting for an update.
One thing that could have been improved is more clarification on some subjects. The biggest issue I have is where the hell do vampires get all that blood? Everything involved with it is only assumed. There is nothing mentioning why it comes in a little sealed pouch with tomato logo on it. This gets mind numbing as later its revealed
that the white haired guy is somehow taking humans blood and not only having no one suspect but also puts them in pouches. Do they have a machine or something? Its magic I tell ya.
Also I need to emphasize that no one
notices this at all. We only get a glimpse of white haired boy biting a human at the end and even then I ask myself, "So do the scars just go away? Does he have a transfusion machine in his pocket?" The only answers I have only lead me to believe in more insidious things about the character but more on that later.
Maybe I'm thinking too much about modern day vampires, but the explanations for how they function in were actually OK... right up until White Haired guy
is blood drunk on human blood and suddenly turns into the standard vampire trope. I like how they try to be scientific but it just doesn't work well if you think hard enough about it.
One last nitpick that I have is that I wanted to see more is... the couple dynamic between Mari and Jaemin. I just felt there wasn't enough and most of their time spent together is just shallow. Now I know I'm just complaining about the story but that does not mean I didn't like it. I loved it. I'm just having trouble saying positives because I find so many of these kinds of story not good or riveting. When it's good, I tend to not praise things for what it's worth. That's my fault. Orange Marmalade is not perfect but I enjoyed it was it is and wish it could have been so much more. It deserves a 9/10 from me. But enough about the story, lets gets deep in there with the characters and their relationships to one another. Also did I mention anime hair color is a thing in this universe?
So I realized that there is way more I want to write so I'll leave that in a separate future post but for now a teaser. Also I think my laptop is exuding smoke. The characters- Mari: Dark purple haired main character with a troubled past.
Jaemin: Green(?) haired love interest with a deep and troubled past.
Suri: Orange hair sporty girl.
Woomi: Dark haired glasses girly girl.
Ara: Blond bitch.
White haired and red haired duo: The ingredients for entropy.
If anyones bought a decent amount of books on book walker they've launched a coin service where you get credit back on purchases as far as I can tell. It seems to applied retroactively to at least some purchases so its worth checking.
Waiting for your loved one to come back is rough, but good thing she's so understanding, and it's good that there's some progression going on despite the perpetual time loops, albeit not on the guy's side.
Oof, darn Berserk. I've been looking into finally picking it up, and... they freaking changed the spines, huh? For the Japanese release, I mean. And it looks like versions with the new spines DO exist... but like, it kind of throws off my plan of just grabbing a set off ebay at this point, as all the sets up there have the old format up until the last 2-3 volumes. So it's like... how much am I willing pay for consistency of the spines?
...I think the only solution at this point is to just wait till I can go to Japan again, and just pick things up from a Bookoff myself or something.
If this doesn't lead to a timeskip I'll eat my hat. They gave literally every out for him to come back and the spot they ended it? Come on man. Bring on the next chapter, let's see where this goes.

But why a timeskip though? What can they even do? Future boxing where they give Ippo a robot body or somemthing? Or hell, old man Ippo picks up a student and we start is this whole shebang over again?

To start with, I'm not talking about the translation from the usual place. There's another one that's moving a bit faster and is totally up to date.
It's pretty clearly set up so he can come back and fight if that's what the author wants. The doc says he's fine and Yagi even points out that the symptoms he's shown could be from something completely different. The chapter even ends with him at the line in the dirt Takamura drew.
Considering an ending hasn't been announced, it's not crazy to think he could come back. All the author would have to do is say he had another issue, fix it, and give him a reason to want to jump back in.
A timeskip would be a way for him to close out Takamura's arc during the manga proper, since Ippo was moving so much faster than he was.
Eiji meeting her dad went exactly as expected. Too bad the modest delinquent is dumb as bricks and Nanako is too shy to be assertive. Actually, thats not fair. Nanako has been pretty aggressive lately but Eiji is just a dummy.
Makes a lot more sense then when I first read the manga while it was still being serialized. The last few volumes though, holy crap, what a convoluted mess. Everything up until the final story arc was really good though, some of the best work CLAMP has done, I just wish I didn't need a damn flow chart to understand what the hell was going on with Sakura and Syaoran; look at this!
I wonder if they plan on ending Clear Card by tying it into TRC since there is a connection, though its only small.
Yeah I remember the ending of Tsubasa being such a clusterfuck. I didn't even know about the connection to Magic Knights Rayearth.
CLAMP also did a sequel to Tsubasa that ran for 19 chapters a couple years ago. I wonder if they have plans for more? Seems like it was only used to gauge interest.
Dr Stone 44: So Senku was adopted I guess? I guess that's one way to clear any doubt about whether him ending up with Kohaku would be incest in any sort of weird way
GOOD END, with less of the actors left standing than it's inspirational namesake. Still hard to take it seriously with the bloopers and all, but given how ludicrous this scenario is anyway that's not necessarily a negative. Now all we need is an imas version. If they can write it without involving Mayu I'll be impressed.

It's pretty nice how supportive Saeki is towards Nanami in all circumstances.
Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction ch55
It's weird seeing Ouran being all serious like that, but I guess even she can't put out a front forever.
Beloved. ch.Extra 2
Now I got a craving for strawberries.
New Game! ch70
Damn lol, that's some incredible dedication to not show any guys in this series.
Nene gets no respect.
One Piece ch893
That's some impressive honor displayed by Katakuri here. Such a great antagonist.
One-Punch Man ch87
Garou still has a long way to go, lol.
Poor Fubuki. All she wanted was a nice discussion with Saitama, just the two of them.
Historie ch102
I didn't know there were lions in Europe during Antiquity. That's interesting.
Shishunki Bitter Change ch49.5
Kids these days are a bit too mature.
Ore ga Ojou-sama Gakkou ni "Shomin Sample" Toshite Rachirareta Ken ch59.5
Huh, that's an unexpected couple for this "what if" bonus chapter. Gotta keep the Kimitobowl going by putting out an otherwise impossible couple I guess.
My Hero Academia ch169
Of course the school festival is obligatory for any series with a school setting.
So I'm gonna have to scrap an entire argument I had in the character half of my reviewing of Orange Marmalade because it didnt really fit in. I may rework it but its not gonna be as long as half a page.
Also I'm starting to get ads for BL comics on twitter. Really need to spend less time browsing stuff on there.
Fuck man. I actually came into this around chapter 16 or 17 or something, so at first I just thought it was about a weird kid and his wierder mom, but now I just went back and read it from the beginning. I can't wait for the inevitable live action version.
I was finding it strange that aliens, superpowers or technology didn't appeared in the first chapters. I thought that it was going to be a normal story like what Oku did in the past but he made it and referenced the name of the manga. With of course, isn't about the pornstar boobs like I was thinking before. lol

TPN I really dig the aristocratic demon designs. There's something so god damn cool and slick about them. Also I'm glad other people remember the significance of the numbers cause I didn't. But I feel like it obvs can't be him? Right? It just feels way too soon. Though this manga is pretty fucking fast paced when you think about it.
Boku No Hero On paper, I'm excited about a culture festival, but boy oh boy I was super meh about this chapter. Maybe its cause I don't care about Jirou. Or music. But mostly i just don't like insect guy.
One Piece You cool Dogtooth. You cool.
I Love Yoo I was busy when this blew up around here for a page or so, but glad people are reading it even if a lot of you are team red head (who is the worst choice). Also jesus christ I'm having too many flashback of when i first started doing fastfood. Yuck.
Golden kamui latest
This series is wild. We finally get to see the side effect of getting shot in the head and punched repeatedly. And of course the last page is fanservice lmao

Team Dieter is the right team but red head is cool too. He's a cool guy.
I wonder how her Shin-ae's sister is going to fit into the story. I assumed it was Alyssa but that didn't seem to be the case. Yeah, the latest chapter gave me retail and fast food PTSD. Ugh
January 2018 General Rec: Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction
Sci-fi slice of life | Ongoing, Licensed in English
It's just an everyday apocalypse.
Three years ago the aliens invaded Tokyo. Nothing was ever the same again.
But after a while, even impending doom starts to feel ordinary.
The Japanese Self Defense Forces are still looking for a way to combat the looming alien threat three years after the invasion, but so far conventional weapons have had no effect on the mothership. Maybe it's time to try something unconventional. Meanwhile, Kadode Koyama is in high school. She and her best friend avidly track the aliens' movements on social media and less enthusiastically study for college entrance exams. When the end of the world is overhead, you learn to take things one step at a time. (source)
From Zweizer:
"A world where the populace complains about aliens being an excuse to raise taxes, where people clamor for the aliens' rights to live, where the arms manufacturers are obviously thriving, where everyone pushes for their own agenda, like before, like always.
A world thrown into chaos, yet one can only see the same old order." (source)
