Also, I feel this dragged a little. Maybe going for three pods instead of two a season is the right pace.

I am seriously not buying that Enoch would have slipped up so much to allow himself to get taken by surprise by a single Kree. This is the Chronicom that singlehandedly took out three Vrell Nexians searching for May, and he didn't have access to firearms at the time.

pretty much anything involving yoyo this episode was just terrible.

I mean... cryptic for the sake of hidden plot is just stupid.
but especially... she leaves well before past yoyo it taken. doesn't manage to meet up with anyone by the time yoyo is taken to be killed in front of mac and a played out fight takes place, only to show up moments after.

nothing about that makes sense at all. Past Yoyo should have told her were to go to save Mac, or she should have met up with the main group well before the Mac fight or anything... it was just really stupid :/

Overall I didn't mind this arc, but I didn't love it either.

After a strong start, this arc has completely lost me and I'm more than ready for it to be over.

While I agree about 3 pods feeling like a better pacing than we got so far this season, I'd imagine they wouldn't want to use their sets and costumes for only a handful of episodes so they tried to get the most bang for their buck.

Wasn't there supposed to be a returning character this episode that was teased?

I thought I remember someone saying something like that.

Fantastic episode for me, but then again I have loved the whole arc. While they have kept it simple they have done a lot of character work and it's really starting to feel like whether the show gets another season or not this one will leave things really different for everyone with probably the biggest sense of emotional weight in the show so far.

Big up to Enoch though, him dying got tears in my eyes. Zeke also deserves some love, he could have turned out really crap but I thought they did a great job of making him interesting and a worthwhile addition to the cast.

As for Yoyo being vague, I think some of you need to cut her some slack. She has lived through all of this, seen the people she loves die, been tortured, killed, brought back, tortured again etc for 70 years, mutilated and in solitary for years and the whole time had to deal with the fact that nothing she did to change things worked. No wonder she was fucked up and not some calm, rational thinker.

The seer wasn't a surprise considering this show's budget.
Of course they are going to reuse their cast.

Great start but becomes a drag as it goes

Excited to be back in the present for the next arc. I still wonder what the deal was with that general shooting her underlings at the end of "Rewind".
Now to wait 4 agonizing weeks...

I'm not a fan of "can't change the future" storylines. They never do anything new, it's always scenes of "we have to fight this/we can't fight this" before everything they do to avoid it makes it look like it's going to repeat until the very last second when it doesn't because twist.

I'm not sure how the budget has anything to do with that. I mean, the entire point of him having a seer was to put one of the characters through the horror of being killed and resurrected, kept as a slave for 80 years.

Him having a seer likely wouldn't even be a thing if it wasn't one of them. Had nothing to do with the budget. (And is that to imply that they should have... hired a new cast member for the part? Not really understanding your point there.)

Mane, they better not re-kill Coulson. He deserves his sunset ride off with May.

DVR turnicareted the preview but
is it possible Yo-Yo tossed the others in to make it, but couldn't save herself?

Alternatively through some techno magic the explosion transported everyone in the lighthouse to the past.

So they're not going to be successful in stopping the loop? Because they went back and flint and Tessa were still looking at a broken earth...

Well, if you look at BTTF2 as an example, the future (when Marty and Doc were in 1955 with the Almanac) did not change until Marty actually burns the book. Once he does that he breaks the loop, and restores 1985A back to 1985. I assume the same is true here... until they get to the point in time where they must let Coulson die, then the future that Flint & Tessa are in still exists...

I mean that is how I am interpreting it...

I mean I know they will fix it, but since it already would have happened in the moment they're looking at the broken Earth, they shouldn't be there doing that.

This is why I'm not a fan of time fuckery.

The highlights of the episode were Deke's gun comment, the nod to Fitz becoming more brutal post framework and Mack getting to take out the big bad with the Jemma assist. I quite liked the arc but the ending felt a little flat to me, I think there was a little too much unneeded drama with Deke/Enoch and trying to make a mystery of if people made it back when they give away the answer in the preview moments later. Plus it would have been nice to have Deke or Flint go back with them so somebody from the future got to see what the Earth of the past looked like.

It dragged out too long after the Robin episode. It should've been about them all realizing that they were in a loop and thinking about how/if they could change it.

Season 4 did raise my expectations wildly, but I feel like this season has been a bit underwhelming.

Space, aliens, gladiator battles and time loops and still it has been a wee bit boring. But we did get the Fitz/Hunter bromance episode, so I guess I can't complain.

I liked the action in this episode. A lot of shots of people getting punched in the face without cutting before the impact.

I've been wondering...why does the thread title say 8/7c, I thought it was 9/8c? Half a season in did no one else notice?

Yeah I really enjoyed the arc but I'm breathing a sigh of relief that it's now done.

Future Yo-Yo not telling past Yo-Yo beat by beat what happened killed the episode for me, but circling it back on Coulson made it interesting.

Like I get that the whole loop thing makes it so even though Future Yo-Yo tries to do something different she can't, I just...I dunno. Twas frustrating.

Well ,
That arc was fun ..but there was some missteps .
I did enjoy coulson speaking of his experience being revived , i also enjoyed seeing part of the monolith being on the walls ( lol )
Mack , damn you had it rough , after seeing yoyo like that no wonder you went mad.
Excellent simmons .. but damn yo-yo , what the heck ? I can understand that she might not be in the best state since she was tortured for years but still , it felt more like a case of the writters not telling us on purpose ...

Damn this month is going to feel so slow.

So assuming everyone gets back, and they stop the timeline from happening, there will be 2 Fitz's right? One in hibernation and the one returning. I really hope that's not forgotten when/if they prevent the future we saw from happening.

I'm really confused on how the whole time-travel thing is supposed to work. If the team is stuck in a loop and what happened has already happened before then what are they supposed to do to change things? If Yo-yo from the future said they couldn't change anything and she survived to the current present while the rest of the team died out that would presumably mean that everything that happened in her timeline will happen to the current group? Like, if future Yo-yo was told the same thing that she told the current Yo-yo (By the future Yo-yo in her timeline) what is the current Yo-yo going to be able to do about it? I don't like the premise because it makes it sound like there's going to be some random plot device that breaks the loop even though it sounds like it would be impossible to break it if they've gone through it over and over.

Anything that the team would try to break the loop would have already been attempted by them in the future and it failed. So if you're stuck in a loop like that how do you randomly get out of it?

I always look at time travel stuff like this... The characters we're watching are considered the "Prime" characters. Whatever they do affects everything else. When you see other versions of them from different times (past of future), they're stuck in the time loops which only the Prime characters can do something about. There has to be some kind of base line starting point for the time travel stories or else, like you said, nothing can technically be done and everything will happen the same way every time.

I refuse to believe that Enoch and Deke are gone. Something happens with the rock that brings them back too.

Deke I could care less about but Enoch is awesome.
