For final Squall level my MVP was Yuna.
Just planned ahead with my attacks and then used AoE Esuna (due to Yuna 5* weapon) to refill BRV and prevent breaks.
Outside of that I basically just BRV attacked and HP attacked when needed with Cloud and Terra. Wish I could get extra uses with Finishing Blow. Sooo good for breaking.
Oh yeah, Sylph as well for HP/BRV recovery too.
Still feel like I have a lot to learn, but I'm liking this game so far.

Yeah those are 6*. Which you get when the weapon is max level and limit broken 3 times. (each of those three empty nodes gets filled by fusing 4 power stones or a copy of the 5* weapon into it)
Well it was fun for a week or so, but way too monotonous for me. Feel free to remove me if you need room. FFBE only for me!
Yesss your Squall is a beast. Double Squall in fights is making me clear hard modes with no issues. :D
I combined the belts! maxed it out and now I just need to get my final crystals to max Squall. I think next VIII character we can pull for is Irvine or Zell. I hope they keep up this pace for releasing events so that we get closer to JP version.

It was pretty clutch, had one KO and no special moves left near the end but somehow I managed to do it. The behemoths have the same moveset as the one in co-op (the last one having some extra moves on top of that) so if you know what he's doing and you don't let yourself get broken it's doable.

biggest issue for me is that my characters aren't doing enough BRV damage to avoid getting broken. I think I just need to grind them up to 50
Depends on how long term you're planning to play this game. If you can get through the content with what you already have then its not that great to pull on these banners since they're all beginner weapons that get powercreeped pretty soon.
Mine are around 40 so yeah that's probably a good idea. Thankfully the event is available for 2 more weeks, so no need to rush I think.
Last event mission down. That went a lot easier with having both Squall and Vaan able to do massive amounts of Brave damage. Accidentally got my WoL broken on the Behemoth fight because I was thinking Earthshaker and not Thunderclap, so....oops, time to do that one more time :/
Congrats on the pulls, all! Nice to see some good luck in here. I'll do mine in a bit, but I probably won't spend more than 10k gems (unless I get Squall in my first multi). I want to save for the 35CP weapons, especially since they're pulled at a lower rate and always featured alongside their 15CP counterpart.
That does help indeed! At least that's 2/3 I'd be happy with. Please no Tifa. She's waifu material, but I already have her weapon and not really interested in MLB'ing it.
I keep doing co-op solo. Is there a benefit to playing with other people rather than just auto-img my way through?
Also, about 35CP weapons. I keep seeing people stating that you should hoard until they show up. Is that close or is it like 3-5 months away?

You get more rewards for doing co-op. Like 20 crystals of either the low or middle tier depending on how many people you co-op with. (3 max, including yourself, 20 crystals per).
You can use whoever you want really.
Due to preference, I would use Cloud, Terra and Zidane.
You get 60 additional crystals for enhancing your characters playing with others plus the 200 bonus gems for up to 20 new people.
Yeah, it's a few months away.
Just found out that you can kill the Behemoth from the lvl.35 quest for Gil from the event mission. Don't need to kill the lvl.45 one.
So I did my 2x multi-pulls for Squall's weapon. First gave me a couple 4* gear (including Tifa's armor, so I have her at golden now) and for the guaranteed 5*...Terra's weapon. Wait, what? Second multi-pull gave me Squall's weapon, so thankfully it worked out for me. :)
I'm not sure if I'm missing something but the gameplay seems extremely limited.

You get affinity bonus stats, almost always a game-changing upgrade to the ability.
I want to argue that you're comparing a 3-year old game vs a new game, but it's not like OO Japan has progressed significantly in terms of mechanics lol
Just tried the final Squall event stage and it was cake, know why some of you are struggling? Because you're making the grave cardinal sin of not brining the GOAT, Squall! Squall's brave move can break the behemoth all by itself when his brave is near 3k! Seriously, no brave recharge concerns whatsoever with Squall in tow. Squall and Vaan did the damage and bravery eraser while my WoL provoked just to be safe since I kept reading how hard he was on here. First time I tried provoke, pretty cool and no doubt going to be a key component against tough bosses in the future.
Also, finished completing all of Hard Mode today so kind of out of things to do until the red crystal event unlocks haha Outside of burning SP when it recharges. Thanks! Speaking of beastly Squalls, how the heck did you max out your weapon? Teach me your ways, sempai! Is it because you never used any 4* orbs on anyone else? I used up all mine and only got him to 17 or 18 but I had previously used them to get Vaan's to 17 before Squall came out. I want to get that thing to 6* something fierce. Oh, did you forget to equip your shared Squall with all abilities? I noticed yours doesn't have the HP move. Equip all that shiz and you're will be a monster :D Not sure if you knew this or not but the game doesn't update your shared unit for you, you have to go equip every ability you learn from the crystal leveling....pretty stupid. You also have to equip gear yourself if you didn't already have the best equipment on before sharing that unit. The only thing it updates is your level. I'm hoping they fix this in the future. I too combined my belts hehe The costs to max out the crystal level are brutal and ironically it's the lowest level crystals I tend to have the least of. I imagine one more purple crystal cycle will be enough to max it out. Just a shame you can only do it 10 times without keys.

Those weapons are bound to be months away. I highly doubt they come out before cycling through all the existing character's 15cp weapons in the weekly banner. Plenty of time to go ham on a unit's 15cp now and save up for 35 afterwards but if you don't like any of the current units enough, feel free to save.

I have a number of favorites, but considering FFVII was my first REAL Final Fantasy (first one I actually played through to completion), I guess I'd have to go with Cloud/Tifa/Aerith/etc. I know, probably a boring answer, but there it is. I also really like Yuna, but thankfully I already have her (as well as Tifa and Cloud, so that's a few crossed off of my list). FFIX is another of my favorites, but Vivi is (unfortunately) not the best in the game (not the worst either, just mid-tier), but I do still want Zidane. I won't pull more on Squall's banner, since I have 2/3 of the weapons, but I do hope I get his weapon one of these days. Also, despite the hate FFXIII gets, I do like Lightning. I'm ready to accept any incoming hate I may get for saying that, but I don't care.
If they ever did a crossover with Chrono Trigger though, that would bankrupt me, haha.

I with absolutely no shame sold my Tifa's weapon to LB max and then I had tons of weapon stones saved up for Squall especially since a lot of missions give them as does World of Illusions! It was definitely a grind, though.
Ooohhh Zell will be a fun event! It will be fun watching him interact with other characters.

I feel like I have a new weapon infusion question every night lol. So what determines the quality rating when you limit break items? Is there anything you can do to increase the chance of an excellent rating? And what does it even influence?
This would have been my exact answer too, Yuna and Vivi included. :) I actually blame Dead Fantasy for hooking me on my Cloud/Tifa/Yuna battle trio. That series had me hyped for Dissidia before Dissidia was even a thing. RIP Monty.

Good and excellent ratings are part of the upgrade system. You're not getting a quality rating on the limit break itself, but on the additional exp you're earning.
It's random chance with a higher ranking awarding more exp. Not that much, though. There's an event on right now that increases the chance or a better rating.
Ooohhh sure, that makes sense now, thanks. I somehow misunderstood that in the game and thought the quality of my 5* limit break weapons was all up to RNG chance and that was really stressing me out lol.
I've been farming crystals from the carbuncle event almost exclusively but now I'm thinking maybe I should go for the armor/weapon orbs instead? Since it seems like shards drop fairly plentifully from the coop and cycle quests? What are you guys doing?
I think I vaguely remember you saying that in the FFBE thread back on GAF now that you mention it. Well, that's exciting than that most of your favorites are already in :) Cloud and Yuna are going to be my niche units where certain bosses warrant paralyzation or Esuna on demand in the future. Cloud is good enough to be used for more than that of course but I don't have his 5* weapon. I'm one of those that don't hate XIII either. Although I prefer having towns and airships with control over travel, I was cool with XIII lacking those things because the narrative supported it. You're fugitives on the run, you don't have time to goof around in towns or linger for much of anything else for that matter. The battle system was great so I had fun playing through it. If I liked the cast of characters better it'd probably rate higher on my list but Vanille drove me crazy with her personality haha Fang tho ;) Anyway, that's a long-winded way of saying I won't make fun of you :p
You're not dumb, they are! What an absurd oversight! The only reason I knew about it is because someone else posted it in this thread last week. I wouldn't have figured it out until swapping to Squall at which point I'd probably have noticed Vaan didn't have the second skill equipped right before I made the swap but yeah, when else would you bother looking at your share unit again? I cleared all the missions so I'm guessing it's what I put in the last post, that you haven't leveled anyone else's weapon high yet? Using a bunch on Vaan first is what's holding me back but thanks for mentioning the World of Illusions, I've just been doing the crystal one exclusively because I was hell-bent on trying to get more purples haha I'll start doing orbs instead there now since I'll get my characters up when their color is running. The game has barely been out, I need to be more patient :p Squall just has me going bananas trying to max him hehe Thanks for the tip!
I'm interested in Zell in particular because my "Dream Team" when I play VIII is always Squall-Rinoa-Zell. I will have that team in this game one day! In FFBE too! Too bad Zell is a 4* base in that game but I'm glad they made Rinoa a 5* at least.

Really it's whatever you need. If you're trying to grind someone's crystal level, don crystals but if you're focusing on a weapon, do orbs. I've just decided to finally swap over to doing orb runs since we have great opportunities to get crystals whenever a particular color is unlocked each day. We'll get all the crystals we need that way with a little patience. We don't have that option with orbs though so makes sense to take advantage of any way we can get them.

Yeah, I'm sure Yuna will prove valuable later on (I just Aerith was equally as useful :/). Cloud should be a staple for a long while, as (from what I heard) SE keeps making him relevant, considering his popularity. I think I can comfortably level them and know the time spent doing so won't be wasted. I wish you luck in getting Cloud's weapon, but even without it (as you said), he's still viable.
It's nice to see another FFXIII fan here. Oddly enough, I much preferred the original over the "improved" sequels. I know a lot of people liked FFXIII-2 more, but I didn't. I'm not sure what it was, but it didn't grab me nearly as much as its predecessor. At least I know I won't be attacked by you, for having an uncommon opinion, haha.
13 is the best of the trilogy and probably my 3rd or 4th favorite game in the series. I loved the story and thought it wrapped up wonderfully so retconning it in 13-2 was annoying though it did give us a better Serah and graced us with the presence of Caius.
that's why I take WOL and just shield up and protect the squalls and clouds while they do their facerolls
That's a good idea. I was running Bartz because he's super useful to bring down insane brv numbers but what's the point when I don't have a turn coming where I can do that. WoL might be the best way to go.
