Not bad. Looks very Wipeout.

But I think you want a less busy livery when the car itself is very busy.

More than the halo, I really REALLY dislike these weird rear wings. I like the car's overall concept, but these rear wings looks so cheap and goofy, almost like some Hot Wheels thing. So weird...

Those mockups are silly IMO. Looks good via photoshop in a static image, but rarely does the colour and scheme translates well on TV. Same for the stuff Sean Bull churns out.

They look like a dogs dinner. And they would look worse when moving.

Was Felipe obliged to? Given that Stroll replaced Massa before the Bottas/Merc deal I wouldn't have offered any. In fact I think it's quite arrogant to think he was entitled to any.

Audi team having huge issues in Formula E this year.

Total TV and Internet blackout in pits made this race awesome

Last few laps was pretty entertaining.

Gotta say, the pit stops went surprisingly smooth. Good idea to change those belts to LMP ones.

Did anyone see the Bathurst 12 hour? There was an incident with a fire Marshall that triggered me big time. Paul Morris was in a car that was literally on fire, cleverly knew where the fire marshalls were stationed, and pulled his car up right next to them. Then the fuckit fire marshall must have spent 10-15 seconds figuring out what to do. It's a car on fire. You're a fire marshall. WTF do you think you're supposed to do?

It looked like they'd never fucking operated a fire extinguisher before. Morris was thankfully fine, but he was just really, really fucking lucky that the flames died out on their own.

Shit, Rubens had a small stroke yesterday. He's in the hospital, and according to his father, he's fine.

Pretty sure she was just a flag marshall and there was no way, and rightly so, she was going to enter the track to get to the far side of the car until it was neutralised. The Dude had it under controlish...!

I hope a clip goes up on YouTube! Watching her fumble with the fire extinguishers right next to her was so painful. It was like that scene in the godfather where Fredo is fumbling with his gun while the Don gets shot lol.

If the flames hadn't gone out and Morris had gotten out of the car on fire, I'm pretty sure he would've had to climb the barriers and use an extinguisher to put himself out.

Also, for next year, the race organisers should invest in a broom. Very handy.

You should bare in mind that 1. she had no fireproof overalls at all, 2. she was on an elevated part of the trackside, meaning she couldn't really aim the extinguisher at the base of the flames / underside of the car. The driver took it upon himself (who was still in his fireproof race gear) to take a fire extinguisher and attempt to put out the flames on the farside of the car, until the actual fire marshalls showed up.

Wow, he's too young for that. Get well Rubens!

On another note, are there any stores in London that sell F1 merchandise (t-shirts, polos, etc)? I'm not looking for anything online.

Makes the most sense.

My guess is Danny Ric stays with RBR, Leclerc moves to FER and Ocon gets the Merc seat for 2019.
Leclerc isn't getting into a Ferrari without a couple of years under his belt. That's not how Ferrari works.
Ocon needs to convincingly beat Perez on top of having his usual oconsistency to be considered for Merc before 2020.

And looks like Ocon is one of the prime candidates for 2019 seat
Bottas is going to end up getting screwed, isn't he? (it's not that I blame Mercedes for wanting to have someone faster) I can't really see him coming back to Williams or switching to any of the top teams.

Lets be honest, Bottas is a good number 2 driver. At some stage Mercedes will need to figure out who to replace Hamilton with.

Getting a driver from your own junior program into the works car and winning a title is probably the only driver-related thing left to achieve for Mercedes. Red Bull and McLaren did it.

What a trooper:

Monger completes first single-seater test since accident
Billy Monger has completed his first day testing single-seaters as he plans to return to racing after his horrific British Formula 4 crash last April.

Monger suffered amputations to both of his legs following his collision with Patrik Pasma in the final F4 race of the Donington Park weekend.

The 18-year-old has now begun a testing programme with Carlin in BRDC British F3 machinery, with the first day of testing taking place at Oulton Park on Tuesday.

How does this work? I mean you can obviously fully control a vehicle with just your hands but what kind of setup are they using to allow him to race a formula car?

Surprised there nothing about the Grid Kids considering the massive thread about model unemployment.

https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/134227/f1-replaces-grid-girls-with-grid-kids-for-2018

Children will be chosen by local motorsport clubs on merit or by lottery, and they will accompany and stand alongside the drivers on the grid at every grand prix

..

The grid kids, who will be accompanied by their immediate family, will be chosen at every F1 event and also Formula 2 and GP3 races where possible.

So he got a Mercedes seat after all. ;) But yeah, even there he won't be safe since Mercedes is leaving after the 2018 season.

Grandson of Formula 1 and IndyCar champion Emerson Fittipladi, Pietro will drive part time in IndyCar including the Indy 500.

https://www.autosport.com/indycar/news/134251/fittipaldi-seals-partseason-coyne-deal
He's the final Formula 3.5 V8 champion, but that season's grid never exceeded 12 drivers and those drivers are all scrubs. He basically won a glorified club racing series.

Embratel sponsorship is why he got it. Dale Coyne Racing needed the cash.

Lucas di Grassi was confirmed as a full time driver at the Brazilian Stock Car for Hero Motorsports. It looks like that he and Piquet Jr. need to be close to keep hating each other through all the year.

Wouldn't it make more sense for Rosberg to become the team principal? I would like to see him race again though.

I wonder if Mercedes will come with a band new team or if they'll take over Venturi. That would be sad, cuz Venturi has one of the best liveries in Formula E in my opinion.
