They're gonna have that trash kit for TWO years. Praying for Sounders fans more than I've ever before
But less-than-stellar spells at Turkish club Fenerbahçe and Italian outfit Cagliari, where he was bedevilled by injuries and personal problems, saw him play only a handful of games over the past two years. His time in Turkey was especially challenging, as he ran into financial problems due to some poor investments. Van der Wiel previously revealed he was swindled out of $4.5 million US after moving to Fenerbahce from PSG. He claimed that the same Turkish businessman who defrauded him also tried to extort more money from him.
"My last two years were not the most successful for me, and I lost my pleasure for the game. In Turkey, I signed for four years [and a] big contract, but after three months I had problems there. The club treated me not well," van der Wiel said during his TFC introductory press conference on Monday afternoon.
"It was not a good experience for me. Also, my private life was not good. I lost a lot of money there, so I had a very bad experience in Turkey, and I needed to leave Turkey to play football again, to find my pleasure back again, and that's how I ended up in Cagliari."
Wack. Should have been Tecate or In N Out. I'm not buying a Youtube TV kit.
Not sure how much of this is common knowledge, but this is some shit

things should certainly be better for him here
I remember the fan mocks from a couple years ago having Tesla as the primary sponsor. Hope they keep the red to a minimum.
And that's even leaving out that Van Der Wiel had a stomach bug or something like that, and the Fener doctors didn't do shit about it
Whatever the case, it won't be the worst jersey sponsor in the league. That has to go to Philly and Bimbo
Those conflicting colors.Whatever the case, it won't be the worst jersey sponsor in the league. That has to go to Philly and Bimbo
lol I'm just desensitized to Bimbo since it was a LigaMX staple (and I grew up eating the stuff)
Now that sounds like a fun off-season.Caps playing a friendly against J-League team Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in Hawaii. I wouldn't mind being there
Knowing Atlanta's luck with D.C. United, Asad will probably score a goal in the first matchup this season.
Wish him all the best regardless.
Eh
As long as they don't touch the home kit

That's not going to work in the US. You can adapt the model for specific parts of the US, but the country is too damn big. Sure, you can build pitches and set up scholarships and get better coaching but that does not fix the problem, which is that the US systematically sucks at identifying and then developing talent. We should be focusing more on the individual club level.
Double post, but it's a worthwhile one: Seems that MLS Live is coming back for 2018.
Man, I couldn't live without MSG. Can you get MSG Go?Nice, I'm gonna sign up this year. It will be the only way to watch NYRB games for me. Even though I live in NJ, I don't get MSG, and I am not in the blackout area. It sucks to pay extra (I'd rather just have MSG) but it sucks more to miss most games like I did last season.
My favorite was when we were trying out Playstation Vue in place of cable, and it carried the national sports channel that was carrying a Sounders game (Fox Sports? One of the main network channels? I can't remember). Anyway, they carried the channel, but didn't have the rights to broadcast the MLS game, so the channel blacked out when the Sounders came on. That was the moment we decided to cancel Vue haha

"We would still like to find a more classic 10, a more classic attacking midfielder who can find pockets in between the lines, who can play and break lines with good final balls and who can also help dictate rhythm," Rodriguez said over the phone Tuesday night. "[We'd like someone who] knows when to slow the game down and when it's available to accelerate it, accelerate it. That is still a skill set that we seek."
Anything near that spot is basically a free goal for him. Italy never calling him up for their qualifying run still makes no sense given what he can do.
