MJR: "There are a bunch of settings but I'm not gonna show or explain any of them, instead I'm just gonna play games to show it works."

Useless.

Most of his fan base isn't hardcore into the FPGA Clone scene, so I'm sure he wanted to keep things simple. We have DF and MLIG to take care of all the technical stuff. MJR review was good for the casual audience.

Casuals aren't buying this unless they're told WHY they should even think about buying it. MJR had a chance to actually explain and show how this is different from the many cheap clone SNES consoles or pi machines, instead he pretty much read off the features from the website then played some games. Where's the Adam Koralik video?

He did explain how its different to some extent. He talked about how accurate it was and the low input lag.

If you honestly expected an in depth technical anaylsis from him then that really isn't fair. Not everyone who got in review units will be as technically savy as MLIG and DF.

Any idea when John's DF Nt goes live? That'll be the best one by far.

I'm skipping the 8bitdo Controller as my NT Mini one had a weird input lag problem. So I was looking for an actual wird controller and saw that Amazon lists several sellers with supposedly brand new authentic Super Famicom controllers. Can they actually be authentic, genuinely new and unused?

I bought a brand new one on ebay a few weeks ago.... and it actually was a legit new controller. The reason I could tell was the moment I got it, I unwrapped it and the plastic smell was like that from when it was released back in the 90s... my inner child was going nuts.. lol... I paid 60 usd for one...there are more so keep an eye out.

Sunday? Wow, figured they'd have had a video ready for the embargo.

Oh, I was hoping to watch the DF one today. :(
Guess I'll have to be content with only the MLiG one.

UPS sent me a generic shipping notification this morning. A 3.2lb package arriving tomorrow out of Las Vegas

I haven't ordered anything else...has anyone else gotten this? I can't figure out how to get the tracking info to tell me who it is from

EDIT: Looks like they included my order reference number (#5725) I think this is it

The Polygon review mentions that you can use an Xbox One controller with the Retro Receiver, but I can sadly confirm this is not true. I actually bought one hoping for that, but I guess I should have done more reasearch before purchasing it. Still, a good device, tough, works well with a Wii Classic Controller connected to a Wiimote.

Best one so far. I am hoping so badly for NES support and ROM loading. Please Kevtris... Please...

Yeah, that is the best review so far. And yeah, gonna be super disappointed if we never get an 8bit core. I need my RBI Baseball!

I am seriously hyped for this thing though. Got me to go on a little complete in box Super Famicom game buying spree. Have some goodies coming over the next couple of weeks.

Great review. It actually explains my gripes with the way scanlines work on the NT mini and lack of gamma settings (I own one). It is nice to hear that the Super Mini has improved the video settings. I am kinda jealous even if I have original hardware (with some picture problems). My framemeister still does a pretty good job.

I think I will stay away from FPGA machines until they support 4k natively and include several consoles. In between ill replace the framemeister with the OSSC in some years.

No shipping email, but I checked my order status through the Analogue site and mine is on the way! Expected to be delivered here in Portland, OR by Friday.

Maybe a bluetooth compatible one?

Another review:

Edit: just finished watching it. A nice detailed and concise review along with some breakdown goodness.

Cross-posting from another board.

If people want to watch other reviews you can check out Analogue's twitter account because they're retweeting reviews from different outlets. I've watched the MLiG and Parish videos so I think I'm good until the DF Retro one on Sunday.

Sometimes it just takes time for the system to update all the tracking info. I've checked for half a day, and it never showed a shipping time. Later that afternoon, it shows it shipped earlier that morning.

Initially I was bothered by the lack of 4K, but 1080p 2D pixelated graphics, scale up superbly.

I'm so damn pumped to get mine. I got out of the SNES collecting game a couple years ago, but this should put me right back into it lol. Not to mention Japanese Super Famicom games are open up to me now...some of those I might just get because they're cool as fuck. The Yoshi's Island cart is so choice.

I've hit the "childishly refresh order page every few minutes" stage of anticipation. SNES mini's been holding me over, but the reviews for this are making me excited (especially since my new TV doesn't support my Retrovision cables...).

Same. I have a SNES classic in my living room and real SNES modded for component out plugged into a nice Sony Trinitron CRT in my office. But, I haven't really touched them 'cause I have been so excited for this.

I didn't pre-order until early Jan and I'm waiting to get confirmation of my order being shipped, hopefully it's soon!

I pre-ordered within a day or two of them opening pre-orders and haven't received any e-mails and no change to order status...

Nothing from Analogue, but I did get a notice from UPS to expect a package tomorrow from Las Vegas.

Another company is handling the shipping so the order of shipment is probably related to geographical destination, not order number.

I never understood why 1080p was chosen over 720p. Doesn't it scale better for 720p?

If I play this on a 720p set would it do scaling once again(with added latency)?

Nothing yet shipping to Canada. Like DOTDASHDOT i also received my 8bitdo controllers.

Just confirming in case anyone was wondering that the black versions do not have stickers like the transparent. Yay!

Just because you haven't received a tracking number doesn't mean it hasn't already shipped.

And for those that don't know.

God, I wish I could afford one of these consoles. I currently use a Super Famicom with HD Retrovision's component cables (my TV supports 240p over component), but I'd vastly prefer to play my games in HD.
