What's the process for migrating from your old Xbox to the new? Just dump all the games on to an external and move the external over? Any way to do it over the network like you can on the PS4?

:'( Apparently I won't be getting my Scorpio Edition until after the first week of launch. I got off of chat support for Microsoft and the console will not ship until the day of release. I can't change the shipping method (which is Standard) so... looks like I will wait to play Wolfenstein and Assassins' Creed Origins for another week. Blegh.

No more blurry Overwatch confirmed. Stayed sharp the entire time I played. Kinda crazy to see every detail all the time - I've gotten so used to dynamic resolutions going low.

But whoa, this box makes some noise when playing Gears 4 with Visual Rendering Preference. It's similar to its quiet idle dashboard noise when in the menus or loading screens, but it ramps up when the campaign gameplay starts. Not original 360 loud, but you can hear it through some closed headphones if your console is nearby (assuming my unit is representative of an ideal one).

Performance Rendering Preference doesn't make the box anywhere near as loud. And even with some very noticeable drops, performance mode is really cool. It'll be my obvious choice as someone with only 1080p displays. Bring on more higher framerate enhancements!

Can you make some Gears screens? :)

Are the end of match victory poses super clear, sharp and high res now?

Is OW confirmed 4k or something? I just saw OW spoken about and wanted to ask.
No, Overwatch is not enhanced. However, it's the first game I just played on my Xbox One X and it seemed to stay at 1080p throughout (though I'm no Digital Foundry), due to how X1X boosts unenhanced games with dynamic resolutions. It's a really nice automatic upgrade for OW on Xbox One imo.

No blurry endgame lineup screen is nuts.

I think OW uses some sort of dynamic solution, so it will stay at the highest res more often.

No idea if it is enhanced, not heard much from Blizzard on this one.

Is it a consistent fan noise or did you notice it going up and down like the Pro? For example when going to the menu does it immediately get way quieter or does it slowly ramp down?

Was that blurry? I don't recall. I haven't played OW in so long on X1.

This is the thing that scares me the most. I know they aren't dumb enough to have a repeat of the 360 red ring era by not testing these things thoroughly but everything I've seen about these systems have been 1) how they are basically the same size 2) how heavy they feel 3) how densely everything seems to be packed in there. Seems like bad news to me

Oh gosh this thing being hot and noisy is a bit scary.
This isn't going to be a helpful comment, but I think I'll have a hard time feeling down or critical about anything like this as someone who won one. Normally I'm hyper particular about any general drawbacks, or what I consider to be manufacturing defects. I look forward to Digital Foundry sharing their objective reports.

I hoping other people's consoles, especially the majority who are paying for it, get a unit they're comfortable and happy with. Maybe mine is noisier than most - and I've only played one enhanced game for a few minutes so far.

People are being naive if they expected a quiet console. You have a small machine, with an internal PSU, working overtime - how exactly did you expect the heat to be expelled? Sheer will alone? Until water-cooled consoles are produced, you will always have noise.

Pretty sure some MS support staff have no idea what there doing/talking about. I was told to expect mine on the 7th with no delays.
I hope so! I ordered both Assassin's Creed Origins and Wolfenstein II for Xbox One, but am holding off so I can play them on One X. It is getting harder to wait given all the good things I have heard about both, especially the latter.

Oh neat, I didn't realize they updated that process. Also neat that you can pick and choose which content to move over.

You can do either, but moving games to external is much more efficient. You can jus5 play them from that drive...

Would it? I would think it might be faster to go over a gigabit network than to the HDD. It always seemed kind of slow when I was transferring to the external drive on my current system.

Anyone buying extended warranties?

Nah. If I bought an extended warranty for every purchase like this, I would end up spending more money than the cost of what it would take just to replace it on my own.

Uh, I should test it more, but Gears 4 Visual mode gets abruptly quiet when you exit from gameplay to the menu initially (and then it starts ramping up again). Not consistent in my short experience. Unfortunately, I don't experience with a PS4 Pro as reference.

I wish I had a 4k TV to get a feel for if the extra noise during Gears 4 Visual mode is worth it. I get the feeling it very well might be.

Ugh, well thanks for sharing. I personally hate it when I can constantly hear the fan adjusting to whats going on on screen. Was hoping they did that better with the XB1X.

So, it's bad design basically. I really don't have to have a small console with internal PSU, I never had a problem with the external 360 PSU or the big XB1. A noisy console is sooo much more annoying imo, the talk about the noise differences on PS4 Pro is the main reason why I didn't buy one, my PS4 is almost at 360 level of noisy so I don't want to fall into that trap again. If Xbox One X is equally noisy then I'll be very very disappointed and I won't be quiet about it.
Hopefully it's quiet as a UHD bluray player at least.
