Does anyone have a diagram of challenge mode Pools rotation? I understand floater goes to top left and top left refreshes and then goes bottom left. Does top right then become top left?

I don't have a diagram, but you pretty much just keep someone moving around. My group went clockwise (opposite rotation of what you described), but that doesn't really matter. Basically a runner started on top right, ran to the middle then to bottom right, bottom right guy immediate runs to the middle to refresh and then to bottom left, bottom left refreshes and goes to top left, top left refreshes and goes to top right. Rinse and repeat, don't bother shooting if you're running because the timing is super tight. Meanwhile, the guy in the middle just needs to watch out for psions and stay in the pool, which is the easiest role (a good place for people at low LL or who have trouble with bathers).

You can just make your own plan— the distance between middle and the plates is always the same so you're going to run the same amount of time regardless of what order you go in, so just pick.

Diagram? You do it either clockwise or counter clockwise.

Axes>Middle
Middle>Cup
Cup>Middle
Middle>Guards
Guards>Middle
Middle>Dog
Dog>Middle
Middle>Axes

Or you can assign 1 person as the static middle player and the rest can rotate on their own (again, clockwise or anticlockwise).

Is there a point to infusing low Power items?
  • Your drops are based on your potential highest Power, not your equipped Power
  • Going past the recommended Power for an activity does not confer benefits
If the equipped item doesn't drag my Power under the recommended amount, is there any point at all? If not, seems like a really poorly designed system.

No diagram necessary. Always have one guy stay in the middle That person never leaves, ever. You go to the middle to refresh your stacks when someone comes to you. As a team, you'll decide if you rotate clockwise or counter. Other than that, kill shit, stay on your plate and don't die. Save supers and as much power ammo as possible (Wardcliff glitch is your friend). Merciless is recommended. Titans should run hammers (top tree, sun spots aren't reliable).

Thanks for the clarification CrudeDiatribe. As far as I can tell, damage output and total health is based entirely on your current Power level. Going above the recommended does nothing, but going below it gives you a scaling debuff to both stats based on how far below you are.

Really lends itself to a flat experience.

I'm looking for a permanent (Daytime US) raid group that has the desire and patience to do Raid Challenges and Prestige modes.

Currently PL 293 and I'm in the main DestinyERA discord.

So far, I've noticed that public events are much more populated. Early anecdotal impressions and all, but it's nice to see so many players around here, not having to do a public event on your own.

The reason to infuse would be that you want to get your weapons up to 300 so you can complete Prestige content without a disadvantage.

If you don't want to be able to do prestige level activities then yes, there is no point infusing items much past the PL of whatever activity it is that you do want to do.

Testers on reddit have confirmed that there's a cap usually 10 or 20 above recommended power where your stuff stops doing more. In the normal mode raid, 291-305 provides no bonus for instance since the raid recommended power level tops out at 280.

The system is probably designed intentionally to keep game content relevant. Strikes are 140, if you did double damage in strikes at 280 they would be insanely easy, which would make them boring for many people. This is a system that they've used for 3 years now.

I feel like its been kinda hit or miss for me. Sometimes there is a large group, other times I'm on my own. I believe Bungie has mentioned that they are trying to improve it.

Is there any appetite for a normal raid on Saturday at/near 20:00 GMT? I have good experience at baths/gauntlet/dogs but at the moment still don't have a Calus kill (I've had a few tries at Calus, and know the shadow realm stuff pretty well).

Struggling to find time otherwise to get the raid done, and really just want that completion so that I can actually do something with the bloody tokens I've accrued.

Tried some Quickplay. Game put me into 3 Supremacy matches back to back. Gotta say, getting credit for at least making a kill feels nice. With the longer TTK and slow health regen, it made it difficult to procure crests, and while I still have an issues with that, it feels like I am contributing. Feels more like a TDM variant then it did before. It's also nice to finish the match by reaching the full score, and not by the timer running out like it's been doing up to this point.

As an aside, I do have my share of issues with this game, but I am interested to see what Bungie will do to hopefully shake things up and iron things out. I'm eager to see what they have for future updates. As far as this hotfix goes, I'm liking things so far.

How do I join the DestinyEra community on ps4?

I can't help with communities through the PS4 as I've never messed with them, but if you're trying to find others to play with, you'll definitely want to check out the DestinyERA discord channel. See the first post of the thread on how to join.

Feel free to post questions/LFG requests here as well. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding groups on PS4, there's a ton of us around here.

Cheers, I already sent the pm for discord link, and yes it's definitely more convenient than ps4 communities.

Haven't played much in last few weeks as I moved on to other games like majority of my clanmates. But still need to clear the raid on hard mode ha.

Just finished the raid last night. Calus was annoying but we figured it out and got some loot. I got crap though.

Is there any interest in trying to do a PS4 raid tonight? I'd prefer at least 2 experienced raiders since that seems to help smooth the process out. Also, anyone who "wants to go in blind" probably should find another group as I don't have any interest in banging my head against figuring it out for 3+ hours!

Right now, I am looking at something between 9-10PM EST. Depends on when people are available.

  • nicoga3000 [SPUD] - new to the raid, 278 light
  • SwiffySwaff [SPUD] - experienced raider, 304 light

Reposting since it was early this morning and probably not seen! Ish.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound now?

In all seriousness; I give an honest alternative to an issue that everyone has with Trials and you came back with a smart-a$$ response to my opinion. I made light of it and this is how you continue on? I'm not an argumentative person and I'm not going to $hit-up the community thread, so I'm not going to respond further on the matter.... Good luck out there.

If you have already done the normal difficulty nightfall, do you still get rewards from doing the prestige nightfall on the same character?

This is an issue that you have with Trials, clearly not everyone. This is not the first time you've commented on the issue. Not every single person who plays any game let alone Destiny will be able to complete every single thing the game has to offer. Trials is hardcore PVP endgame activity. It's literally impossible for every person to get flawless because someone has to lose for someone to win.

What if Destiny had a time attack mode and you couldn't beat the timer to get loot? Would you be asking for that to be changed too?

I caught myself thinking about Thunderlord and Patience and Time today. Those were cool guns.

This is kinda where I'm at with Trials, and to some extent, the raid due to my busy schedule. There are just pieces of loot that I will never get. Because I'm not good enough/don't have the time. Also why I really appreciate the Destiny 2 design philosophy: I'm not punished for not being able to dedicate all my time to Destiny. I can get where I need to get by doing the activities that I can do. I won't have some loot, but life is rough that way.
