I really have wanted to see Zlatan in MLS, but I'm not confident his legs can keep up the travel and pace.

These kits tho! Everyone able to needs to request that one time switch. God damn.

Oh that is one hot kit. Why can't we ever get something that good?

I think Zlatan will be ok. LA has a lot of experience with guys his age and considering what he was able to do in the Premier League in half a season, even if he only lasts til the end of the summer LA will be a holy terror for most of the season.

USSoccer election getting down to the nitty gritty with the vote coming on Saturday. Sounds like the six "outsider" candidates are drafting a statement that's going out tomorrow morning more or less instructing people to not vote for Cordeiro or Carter if they want change. Could be a couple wild days ahead with everyone trying to wrangle votes.

It's pretty fascinating watching the fall out because US failed to get a result against Trinidad and Tobago.

Goddamnit, you beat me by literally a second. :p

Seriously though, dude looks LEGIT. I LOVE this signing. From Stumptown Footy: "Playing with Heracles last season, Armenteros registered 19 goals in just over 2500 minutes, good enough for third in all of Eredivisie."

I can't wait for the season to start. :)

I've really liked some of the moves you guys have made this offseason. Paredes, Polo, Williamson...all good additions.

Now, back to the Quintero to MLS rumours. Fox Sports Mexico is reporting that Club America has come to terms with both Vancouver and TFC on a transfer fee regarding Quintero, and now it's down to Quintero and his agent to make the ultimate decision.

Worth noting that we just bought down Brek Shea so we have a DP spot open....interesting timing.

How does TFC have cap space to sign Quintero??? The Eastern conference is so stacked, it gives me anxiety thinking about it :/

SJ rumor was debunked last night. It's just a lazy retread of a story that was floating last Summer.

Brittany Arnold should've been the both the game and color commentator for ATL. She knows her shit and has a great voice. She was literally the only good thing about ATL broadcasts. Alan Green is the worst voice in the league. I say that having listened to EVERY SINGLE english Univision broadcast and The homers that call Chicago, Columbus, New England, Orlando, et all. He is an out of touch dinosaur, with a voice that sounds like acid dripping from an asshole trying to do a Northern Irish accent. He has made sexist remarks on air (to Brittany) and I cannot fucking stand him.

That leaves us with Dan Gargan, the Team America version of Matt Damon. Say Dan Gargan's name without that voice. YOU CANNOT.

You have both the most interesting team in the league and the worst broadcast team in the league.

It's been such a circus so far due to the widespread panic about the World Cup, the broad and volatile field of candidates, plus everyone running sees this as a huge (and unique) opportunity since Gulati had the position locked down for so long. It would've been nice if there had been more substantive debate and less goofy political action in the run up to the election. I'm just glad it's almost over with.

What happened? Based on those accounts, five of the six candidates—all but Caligiuri—spoke together on Thursday in a meeting room on the second floor of the Renaissance Orlando at Sea World hotel, the hub of U.S. Soccer's Annual General Meeting. The Gans camp volunteered to write a draft of a statement that would be issued publicly by the group.

Paul Caligiuri, Steve Gans, Kyle Martino, Hope Solo, Michael Winograd and Eric Wynalda—are hoping that Carter will not get the necessary winning majority in the first round of voting and that voters would support a "change" candidate in subsequent rounds. Their concern is that Cordeiro is gaining some traction among some voters as a "change" candidate, and they wanted to make it clear that they don't believe that to be the case.

In other words, a public group statement would be designed to try to prevent Cordeiro from winning the election in round two.

Alan Green was quite the polarizing play-by-play man, haha. I hope they bring back Kevin Egan, he did good work prior to Green's arrival:

FUCK. I was so impressed watching her on the field stuff next year. I wish her the best of luck, hopefully she can find an analysis or more in-depth reporting role somewhere. Her rapport with the players was really great.

Can we get some of that Blank money towards getting Arlo White on FSS >.>

My money is on Wynalda. He seems the type. I honestly forgot Solo was running.

In Gulati's opening speech, he was setting out the stall for the SUM-related candidates by emphasising the importance of tv audiences to inspire children to get involved over 'grass root' schemes.

Lots of media folks saying this is Carter's to lose today and that she'll probably sew it up rather quickly.

Not surprising, though I'd have thought Martino would be above Wynalda.

Would much rather have Cordeiro over Carter, I actually really enjoyed his interview with Wahl.

I thought the same actually.

I liked his interview with Wahl too. He just jumped to 41% in the second round, so he's probably going to win in the next few votes.

Cordeiro won and Martino got more votes than Wynalda in the end. Sounds about right.

I guess behind the scenes corruption wins out over open conflict of interest corruption.

Either that or Gulati/Cordeiro intentionally stuck Carter out there as a lightning rod for all the anti-USSF rage while Cordeiro barely interacted with the public for the past two months.

I doubt there were machinations on that level. Cordeiro seems like a good split between the two sides to be fair. He won't burn it all down, but he's not the hand picked replacement either.
