There's StarWars Lego i dont think Its Impossible
yeah but those existed waaay before disney had anything to do with it, they existed for decades, there's a cult following behind them and also while in lego style the design of everything is still as faithful to the source material as possible, in kingdom hearts we are talking about creating completely different designs that are going to be associated with star wars, it's different.

Square Enix said they already know the exact date it's releasing but are waiting until E3 to tell the public. I would guess it's a date in September, November or December.

I could see it releasing in the first week or two of December. That seems to be a common month for KH releases, if I'm remembering correctly.

There's the force awakens lego game

I think Disney cares a Lot when Its something more realistic and close to the Canon like Battlefront. Spin-off stuff doesnt seem that way, maybe im wrong.

I wonder if the Disney worlds will be like in KH1 where you only visit them once, or like in KH2 where you go back for a final boss/epilogue to that level.

Have we had any info to say either way?

Have you read about KH3? The stories in KH3 are canon. Toy Story is using a canonical story taking place between the first and second movie, Big Hero 6 is using a canon story where Baymax turns evil or something like that. This isn't a retreading of original movie stories like past KH games.

We do know the answer for that. It's been confirmed there will be NO second visits to worlds because unlike KH2 which is a linear hallway simulator, every world in KH3 "feels like its own game and has 3x more content of a KH2 world with multiple open areas to explore. Every world will take multiple hours to complete."

Oh wow this sounds great!

I much preferred it to how it was in KH1, so if its like that but three times as big as the KH2 levels were thats incredible.

Basically, you know how the entirety of 0.2 took place in the "Dark World" world which had 5-6 areas to play in (Main Road, Castle of Dreams, The World Within, Enchanted Dominion, Dark Realm, Destiny Islands)? Every world is going to be like that. Olympus has Coliseum, Underworld, Heaven, Mount Olympus and City of Thebes.

Toy Story (that we know of so far) has Andy's Room, Andy's Backyard, Galaxy Toys, some kind of area where you play in a toy set.

You definitely should, 0.2 takes place in one world "Dark World" which has 6 big areas. The areas are really short though so it takes close to 3 hours to beat the world, KH3 worlds are more open and bigger (the areas are bigger and more open than they were in 0.2).

I know they are Canon stories, but they arent Canon to the Canon of star Wars And etc.

Star wars and Marvel will show up in the form of characters and keyblades i guess. Im holding hope that one of the unrevealed worlds is Atlantis, Treasure Planet or The Incredibles. Well, we can always hope for some Witcher 3 like world packs expasions since Nomura "da god" sama didnt rule out DLC

Man fuck the Gummi Ship. The rest sounds cool though. I had no idea they weren't simply gonna follow the movie's story. That's so cool.

You don't know that though. They could be if there was a Star Wars world.
Let me try again, lego StarWars use the Canon stories, but the lego StarWars version of It is not Canon for the official story. Kingdom hearts version of a star Wars movie Will not be Canon. What i was trying to say, is that Disney seems to care more to the new stories that seems more close to the real Canon than interpretations/parodies of existing movies, because they know nothing New IS being created And Its not the official Canon version of the story. While New side-stories that expand the universe needs more Control.

Thats what i think i can be wrong. But chill guys.

Man the hype train for this game is huge, clearly my most antecipated game for this year. Hell, most of us have been waiting for this for 2 generations.

The years we have been waiting for this guys...

Please Nomura, don't be a prick and shift the game to 2019, because honestly I'm having difficulty accepting the 2018 release window considering the current % development already made in each part...

I don't think they ever said that every single world would be canon, just that Toy Story and Big Hero 6 are.
Yeah, I should've clarified that. They said that some worlds will have a original story that doesn't follow the movies. That being said, it strongly looks like Monsters Inc will be a new story as well considering Vanitas and the unversed are both big parts of that world from the trailer and also the Monsters Inc leak.

I think Tangled will use the original movie story but the whole reason Sora is going to Olympus is so that Hercules can help him regain his power. It's not simply to save the Disney world. So I definitely think more than just those two will have canon stories.

I only ever played the first game, but fuck do I need this in my veins STAT.

Also, has there been a KH game that didn't include Hercules? I was pretty sure it was the one constant, which was....always kinda amusing. Like, I actually liked Hercules (Woods's Hades is fantastic), but it's not exactly "Disney flagship" material, y'know?

I'd say Monsters Inc. and Kingdom of Corona (Tangled) are retreads of the original movies based on the fact Mike and Sulley are keeping Boo's identity a secret while at the end of the movie everyone in the corporation knew about her.

And I seriously hope Tangles is a retread, they cannot leave us without Mother Gothel, she knows best!

I think the only SW-related things we'll see in KHIII are going to be Gummi related, like Heartless TIE fighters, maybe a Star Cruiser boss battle.

That GiantLand got me hyped. Gummi ship customization has gotten better throughout the installments of KH. Can't wait to see how it's implemented in KH3.
I hope something is playable at E3

I just can't see it happening, Marvel and Star Wars are disney's current golden gooses and they are control freak when it comes to those franchise, just see how controlling they were on battlefront 1 and 2, they didn't even want character customization because everything needed to be perfectly faithful, can you imagine their reaction if they hear star wars themed Keyblade or star wars themed heartless? I just don't see it
Disney is already that way with the Disney properties in KH. Don't see why they'd be any more or less controlling with either.

Something will definitely be playable in the Square Enix booth, but I don't expect there to be a playable demo for people who aren't at E3.

Those percentages are nothing to worry about. The year is still early. The first third is almost done and the second third is really far along as well. When the first third is done, then the people working on that can move on to help speed up the development of the second and the final third. Also, development efficiency usually improves as the project gets along. Tools mature, the people working with those tools gain experience and learn to use them better & better, issues with the engine get resolved and don't hinder development as much, and generally plans get set in stone so people can just focus on finishing work instead of endless planning and changing shit when plans and concepts are still more fluid. It's no unusual for it to take a big portion of development to get to, like, 20-30% completion and then cranking out the rest of the game in 1-1,5 years after that, when most of the major things have been mostly locked down

Star Wars and MCU are their newest franchises but they both have massive legacy and rabid fans, people don't care about monster inc the way they care about star wars, they are different beasts, Star Wars is more sacred, it makes them waaaaay more money that any of their other licenses already in KH so they are EXTRA careful with it

I'm almost convinced there is someone at SE/KH team that REALLY likes Hercules. Who knows, might be Nomura himself. Dream Drop Distance is the only full game not to feature Olympus and even then probably because it was impossible due to plot reasons lol.

Consider that it's the very first KH3 disney world to be shown/confirmed (and possibly decided on). Plus it's the world that has appeared the most, even more than Agrabah that actually was from one of the most popular Disney movies.

They ok'd EA's BF2 monetization plan. Letting KH be KH won't be the end of the world. If the worlds aren't in I don't think Disney oversight is the reason.

Everything except 1, 2 and BBS have pretty much been recycled/rehashed content. CoM, Days and ReCoded had no original content as far as the worlds go (with the sole exception of CoM with Castle Oblivion amd Twilight Town), they just reused worlds from previous games with some throwaway plot added into them. Hercules in BBS made sense since they could use Young Hercules. 2 continued some stuff. DDD didn't have any story reason to have Hercules since the world wasn't "asleep". KHIII finds Sora in need of retraining so Hercules as a world makes sense again.

Why do people keep saying Nomura wanted to do a Star Wars world since the first KH, when at the time the idea of Disney owning Star Wars seemed utterly preposterous?

That's based on the movie, not the comic marvel published. Marvel has nothing to do with the movie outside of inspiration, so no, Marvel is not in the game.

Big Hero 6 is a Marvel property. They're not going to have Big Hero 6 and an MCU world in the same game, it would be silly and repetitive. Acting like it doesn't count because Kevin Feige didn't produce it is also silly.

Besides, if they did try to do a MCU world, everyone would just bitch and whine that their favorite MCU character wasn't featured.

Yeah they aren't going to do an Infinity War world where every single character is in it. That being said, I could expect a MCU world in KH4.

Big hero 6 is a Disney property. So by your logic there should only be 1 Disney world.
And they wouldn't be required to do the entire MCU. they only have to pick one movie. It's simple really.

I would rather see the Incredibles, personally. Better fit for a video game, and the door is open to that now that we finally got a Pixar world.

My logic is that two superhero worlds in the same game would be repetitive. At least all the Disney movies have different themes and settings.

To you. BH6 & live action are two completely different things. If it was BH6 & Incredibles then your point would've made more sense.
