Hey thanks for replying. Also just wanted to thank you for your awesome site https://blipblop.net/ which I have found to be the single best resource for learning about the different Labels and releases thus far!

Funny enough, it was Outrun that led me to this question; that and Sonic Mania.
Thanks for the kind words. Glad to hear you enjoy the site :)

I haven't heard anything about OutRun unfortunately, but it's definitely in demand. As Spwni mentioned Sonic Mania have already been repressed and I can imagine it happening again. Alternatively it looks like there are still affordable copies to be found on Discogs.

Out of interest, how much did you pay for the SQ Trax you imported from Yahoo Japan? I've been thinking of picking this up and I'm wondering if the ones on the site right now are overpriced (12k yen)

I got a tip from a friend and won it at 4500 yen, which is by far the lowest I've seen it go for in years. But yeah, the 12k one up atm is way overpriced. I usually see it go for around 6-7k yen.

Ah, thanks. This is good to know what to look out for. I've really been on the hunt for both that and the FF Vinyls box set from a few years ago, but both very rare and expensive...

As much as the Pyre soundtrack is awesome my Bastion Ltd Ed LP and it ended up costing me a total of around £60 (cost+postage+import tax&handling fee) I just can't keep buying VG LP's, I've had to curb it which I'm sad about but it's costing me a fortune.
We need some UK/EU manufacturing or distribution deals to happen.

I don't know, unfortunately. Vinyl Digital usually don't put up new releases until they're ready to ship, so we probably won't know until it's ready to release.
Well, you'll be my hero if you post it to the thread when it happens!! ;)

I'm stoked for Flyrule 2, Katamari Damacy, & Celeste! Just hope I can remember to keep checking on when each releases so I can score one of each.

You ever see something advertised as on "black vinyl" and for a second you're like "Ooh, I'll bet that looks cool!" and then you feel like an idiot?

I did it last week when they put the two Pyre soundtracks up, one is listed as a limited edition black vinyl.

Oh interesting, ah...

The funniest one, at least to me, was when the Stranger Things vinyl was announced, and one color variant was "VHS Black." I did have to think about that one for a sec.

That has thrown me off a few times, and the times where the most limited run color is the black version throws me off too, haha.

I know this isn't VGM related but I think it's a big enough deal that people would want a head's up.
The Lord of the Rings -Fellowship of the Rings soundtrack is being pressed to vinyl

Is it ok to mention a few games I wish got their OST released on vinyl, or that would fall under "port begging"? :)

Psst: Secret of Monkey Island, Silent Hill 2, Shardlight :P

Is the point of the black vinyl LE for Pyre that it's sturdier or something? It's 180-gram vs 150-gram, so does that matter or is it really just the color?

Also, really happy I popped in here to hear about this- I was wondering if they'd do a vinyl release and hadn't heard it was up, so I guess I'm jumping on that!

Trying not to buy too many things on vinyl that I already own elsewhere, but this definitely fits the category of something I loved enough to merit that. Though I don't usually listen to the OST in full it's definitely something I enjoy listening to in that way when I do, so that concern's gone too.

I'm pretty sure Mondo confirmed SH2 as a 2018 release at their convention last year. Also, I would love Monkey Island, or any Lucasarts/Sierra adventure game soundtracks!

Does anyone know if there has been any word on the Night in the Woods OST transitioning to vinyl? I did some searching and only turned up some rumors that iam8bit was associated via random posts on reddit. I just started playing this game on Switch and am really into it.

There should be no sound difference between 150 vs 180 gram. I would say it's only benefit it maybe less prone to warping (where records bend.)

As for Pyre, I think I will go with the colored release. The 180 gram release makes no difference to me personally. Though I do like the feel of 180 grams. Feels sturdy and meaty.

Human: Fall Flat OST shipping March 20th, limited 500 copies:

Thanks for the heads up and specifics. Gonna have to listen to the soundtrack and playthrough my copy to see if it's a release I am interested in.

I feel you brother. Many music records (from bands) I buy routinely are ~20 dollar range. I wish VGM records just had that pricepoint. I assume it's mainly due to low print of all of these releases that makes them that much more expensive. There are some good EU based VGM labels like Black Screen or Data Discs, so at least you guys got that going for you!

The Human fall flat deluxe package is sold out, so I am guessing there aren't many records left either. So if anyone wants to grab one I would suggest hustlin.

Total for me came out to ~48 after shipping in the United States.

DATA015: AFTER BURNER II

Music from the arcade classic, newly remastered and available on vinyl for the first time outside of Japan. Composed in 1987 by SEGA's legendary in-house programmer, Hiroshi "Hiro" Kawaguchi (OutRun, Space Harrier), this vinyl release of After Burner II features the complete arcade score, along with an unused "Melody Version" of the title track. In addition, we are proud to include a second disc of bonus material, including three arranged versions by SEGA's in-house live band (S.S.T. Band) from 1988, along with a keyboard and brass infused medley performed by Hiro's current band, SEGA Sound Unit [H.].

After Burner II is presented as a double 180g LP, cut at 45RPM and housed in a heavyweight single-pocket sleeve. Also included is a 250gsm foldout poster of the original artwork, featuring the iconic F-14 Tomcat fighter jet, which has been newly licensed for this release.

Available in the following editions, all priced at £24.99:
  • 2 x 180g Purple and Blue Swirl (Limited Edition)
  • 2 x 180g Opaque Purple
  • 2 x 180g Classic Black

Available from SATURDAY 24th FEBRUARY at data-discs.com

Note: this is a pre-order item. All copies will ship on or before 31st March 2018.

Damn that's hot.

Every new Data Discs release now just makes me depressed that I missed OutRun though.
