Quoting myself to see if anyone has an answer.Question about late-game chapter length:
Is Chapter 8 shorter than the others? I see the Strawberry count is much lower
I felt like it was easier than Chapter 7. It's insanely long, but no individual section is really that tough. Make sure you can do the speed jump reasonably well, as that's the final challenge and you don't get a lot of practice as a result.
By the way, how are you supposed to figure out the blue crystal in 1st area or blue crystal in 6th area on your own? Are there any hints whatsoever?

This track elevated the game's entirety for me. I don't think I'll forget it anytime soon.
Due to the collectables and overall length of chapters, I'd personally prefer if these chapters were segmented somewhat (like say 6-1, 6-2) but I can also see why they did it the way they did.
Oh that's good to know, cheers. You can play them segmented if you're returning to completed stages to sweep them for collectibles (and the pause screen, on a completed stage, displays a segmented distribution of what you've collected and what you've missed). It just won't count towards your records for best times or fewest deaths. You can also exit the stages partway through once you have the collectibles you need, and they'll still count.

Sure. The birds in Chapter 1 are each a color, and they clearly "dash" in a particular direction when they all spread out, correlating colors to directions. You just map the sequence of colors that the computer is spelling out to their corresponding directions, then execute those dashes to get the heart.
In Chapter 6, you have to use the color to direction mappings from Chapter 1, then interpret the wall symbols to flip them appropriately.
I just found the PICO-8 and have been going through it and man the screen shake when you dash or die is literally making me nauseous. It's really bad for me. Especially when you're dying repeatedly very quickly and have the double dash stuff going on. I think I might actually have to stop.
Alright finished platinuming the game. Was really fun. Here's my scorecard, though the 4 B Side was actually 134 deaths. Spent a little too many trying the gold strawberry.
Nah it's just that the C sides are really short. Most are like 3 rooms long or 2. Hated the C side for Mirror Temple though. I'm sure 90% of my deaths there were me smashing my head against the block I was supposed to dash jump off of.Less deaths on some C-sides than A-sides, are you sure this is your first playthrough? lol

Didn't make me nauseous, but it was starting to give me a headache.
Actually, realized I should have asked this sooner so I can start the B-sides- since the Switch version hasn't been patched yet, could someone tell me what polaroid the tape in chapter 1 is actually supposed to be on? It's the only one I'm missing and I just want to know which of the two other sections I should be trying to comb through.
I don't want to know anything beyond that, which the game already would tell me, to be clear.
It is done now. I summit'd the PICO-8.
It's made it very difficult to go back to the normal game now though. I keep forgetting I can grab walls.
You mean in what part of chapter 1 the tape is? I don't remember exactly, but they always show up as a rectangle next to the strawberries in the chapter select. Can someone please answer this so I can start the B-sides tonight? I'd really appreciate it!
Yeah, I also beat it and then immediately had issues with suddenly being expected to climb and only having one dash, hah.

Hah, I remembered it as wrong right as I posted that, you're right. It's in the third and final part of the chapter, I think it's one of the very last collectibles in it too.Right, but going by the patch notes the rectangle is on the wrong section of chapter 1 before the patch, and as the Switch version is not patched yet I need to know which of the other two sections of the chapter it's actually in so I can go find it.

What? There's no run buttonWait wait wait.... there's a run button??? I already finished the game and never used it! Which button is it on switch?
I'm really not enjoying the Hotel section. I hope more of the following areas click with me better. I feel like the platforming is beginning to require a level of precision that goes from "challenging" but fun, to "come on". Especially given that a lot of my deaths are dashing in a direction I wasn't trying to.
