If that were to happen, who would we all want to see get the license?

Honestly I'd be okay with it going to Ubisoft. They have given insane post-launch support to AC Origins, GR Wildlands, The Division, and R6: Siege.

I would love to see their Tom Clancy background in a more modern Republic Commando type game, or an action-RPG hybrid like Division.

Was hoping the license going to EA would mean Bioware would put out another KOTOR game but EA seems content to just let DICE shit all over the Star Wars name so yeah

Whoever has the best pitch per game. EA could still do some, but overall I don't want to see the game locked behind a publisher who is focusing on a ton of their own properties.

My shortlist:

Obsidian: KOTOR Remake

The Coalition: Wookie game where you rip off the arms of enemies and beat them to death like the locust in Gears of War 3.

Arkane: Droid bounty hunter game

Creative Assembly: Spiritual successor to Star Wars Rebellion or Galactic Battlegrounds

343: Rebel Commando (Rex and Squad during and after Order 66). The A.I. team devs from Republic Commando were with the studio for Halo 5.

FROM or Platinum: Unless he appears in other content, a Quinlinn Vos title during Order 66 that at some point jumps forward in Imperial times where bosses are Inquisitors. Can parry with force and blade. Larger force parries can work on larger enemies like Imperial craft.

I always forget that Ubisoft exists as I'm not tied into gaming like I used to be.

I just want a good Jedi game where the lightsaber acts like a lightsaber. You know, not requiring multiple hits to take down a Stormtrooper.

I wish they'd just get going with the game, it's a great game at its core... It needs the tlc. For as bad as the launch was it still has a really steady population. If they'd just put out a solid patch that really fixes issues, adds some weapons and new content we would be in business.

It's like they have the power to make this game a success and turn it all around but it seems like they just... Can't... Do... It. As if it's law. What else does this particular team have to do other than work on Battlfront 2 right now?

I just want a KOTOR Remake or a game like KOTOR for consoles.

A Jedi Knight and Republic Commando successor would also be fantastic.

These are all fine options but priority should go to Star Wars: Tie Fighter 2: Electric Boogaloo / Thrawn Strikes Back / The Missile Boat Awakens.

And I still haven't gotten a Valentine's crate. Could've used those credits to buy some crafting parts....

I haven't played this game in over a month I think. I'm glad I fell off if this is the pace at which the updates are being released.
Been able to play my Christmas backlog

Heh. If we're fantasizing about potential star wars games, just give FROM the license and have them make a DARK JEDI game. A soulslike, play as a sith with a lightsaber, traveling the outerrim. Each planet would be a different bonfire. One of the bosses would be a Rancor. whew

But nah in all seriousness, back before they rebooted the series, I was thinking the dream developer to reboot battlefront was DICE. These games have been a mess one way or another but the foundations are very solid and obviously shows a lot of talent are behind these games. They just need to pull their heads out of their asses. And hopefully soon.

There is still Respawn's Star Wars game. EA has been a little slow to pump out Star Wars games but I am looking forward to what they have planned. I'm a little disappointed Viseral's game never released. Hopefully what comes from that turns out fun.

I would prefer it if Disney opened up the license to more developers and we would see titles more often.

On topic though, any eta for the update?

Can anyone recommend builds my main is heavy. I'm rocking

1.The heavy sentry gun, because they nerfed scs. Currently blue
2. Bounty hunter currently blue
3. And the ion turret currently

I've already wasted craftiing parts on scs, since Icrafted it to purple before the nerf.
Are BH and the heavy sentry worth it frtom blue to purple.
My main heroes now are captain phasma, and chewbaca, since I like chees shoot you in the back kills.
Any tips on p hasma, fin, chewie, and interceptor upgrades. I plan on pulling them all then call it quits.

I don't play heavy much anymore as its health regen is way too long for me and it suffers from having too many options, not enough slots. My build is kind of a 'hold the line' with detonate charge, explosive sentry, and shield. Explosive sentry is fine at green or even white. Bounty hunter is somewhat worthwhile as a placeholder card on assault and officer, but not on heavy or specialist; wish it wasn't even in the game just ptfo.

Phasma sucks. She can be a trapper tank if you build up her droid's stun and survivor's damage reduction but she's still terrible.

I haven't bought any locked heros actually but I've seen good Chewies have high level cards favoring his stun grenade and furious bowcaster.

Finn can either focus completely on deadeye or, like how my drops have gone, be a big deal. Big Deal with range extension, uptime, and faster recharge has helped my team hold on more than once.

Interceptor requires a purple elite ace card so you can win circlejerks. Other two cards are increased laser damage and either fire rate or longer overheat. Afterburners and speed/acceleration cards are a lot of fun but you lose too much damage potential.

I'd wait on crafting anything right now until we hear how the upgrade system is going to change.

It'll for sure nerf Palpy. The real question is by how much.

We should also be getting jetpack cargo and more arcade maps in this patch, and hopefully the rumored Bespin map as well.

I highly doubt we will get the Bespin map. That would be amazing but they seem to have a really hard time adding or changing anything in this game in a timely method. I think just getting this balancing patch out with jet pack cargo was a mission for them. Granted, they are completely reworking the progression system right now. But they've said everything has been put aside for that. And we won't even hear about that until sometime in March.

We already know they're touching every Hero except Han and Leia (maybe one other?), so the question is what they're doing and how much.

My initial balance thoughts from the Beta have wound up staying true hundreds of hours into the retail final release lol. I really strongly feel like in general they need to significantly reduce the ability heroes have to regen health and how much. There's a super fine line where this is easy to fuck up and I'm not gonna give Dice too much shit on this one specific issue, but in general really good players can stay up an entire match with basically full health as most heroes and that's pretty fucked (and I'm not talking about just the Senate). I'm pretty fine with the abilities that give Heroes health back on kill, but generally speaking I don't think heroes should be able to get back above say 50% max health period. I'm fine with limited regen and healing to avoid situations you'd have in BF2015 where you'd have a Hero with like 2 health just basically run away the whole match which kind of screws your tream, but I really feel that they went too hard in the opposite direction.

Do I not understand the progression system in this game? If I'm following this correctly - in order to upgrade my card I need to be a higher card level, but the only way to be a higher card level is to equip a higher card...? How do I get a higher card if I can't upgrade them!? Just wait to randomly get something from crates? Is that what is happening here?

Lol yup.

Or you can spend hard earned crafting parts to build things you don't want to level you up and then not have enough left to upgrade the cards you actually want.

It's the best

Equipping cards doesn't raise your level, having them does.

i was under the impression that progression was tied to exp and amount of time played like Battlefield 1 for the first week I got it. LOL

Color me disappointed when I found out progression was tied to amount x rarity of the Star Cars.

So progression isn't tied to gameplay really, just how much you are willing to buy. Well that is fantastic. I heard the progression system was bad, but this is worse than I thought. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for the daily boxes to give me something.

There's currently no way to spend real money, just in game currency earned from playing

I wasn't implying the use of real money. I'd never spend actual money on a progression system like this. As for credits I feel like I have to save them all to unlock heroes. So I'm pretty much going to progress at a snails pace.

Credits pile up faster than people think, although YMMV to an extent depending on where you place on the board (a full GA match is going to give you probably ~375-400 if you're bottom of the board versus 660 for the top). I've gone from 100-150k credits down to zero I think 3 times now, maybe 4?

-Doing 15 Custom Arcade matches where you just suicide immediately is 1500 credits a day right there for about ~8-10 minutes of play (mostly load times)
-Daily crate is 75 credits, 15 crafting parts and a Common card; the common card will help out with leveling classes/characters/ships, and then once you have most/all of them that dupe is 200 credits making each crate 275 credits
-Most of the Milestones are fairly reasonable and some offer decent rewards
-The new 24/48 hours challenges are almost all very easy and are 1000 credits a pop
-I forget the exact rewards but you also get credits (I think?) for beating Campaign levels, and there are also Campaign Milestones which are easy

It's not great, but even if you did nothing but the 15 daily arcade runs + opening your daily crate you would get enough credits from that to unlock all heroes in about ~35 days, and that's without literally playing the actual game. Also assuming you're just buying Hero crates for the crafting parts since that's all that matters, you will pretty quickly start getting lots of dupe cards which are credits which further reduce the actual cost of the crates. An average Hero crate only actually costs me ~1600ish credits because you generally get 2-3 uncommon cards which are going to be dupes at 200 a pop, plus sometimes you'll get uncommon/rare cards which at this point are also mostly dupes for me which are then 400/800 a pop.

The progression in the game is hot trash and it's not defendable, but within a month I had all of the hero/hero ships unlocked, and the card loadouts for the 3 trooper classes I play as well as Armor and Fighter all at Rare or Epic. And that was before the credit buff where top player was getting me only like ~385ish a match. I don't know if everyone complaining about the game (not directed towards anyone here) is just not actually playing the game or what.

Late response but Heavy loadout is something that'll vary on the map, stage and/or preferences. I used to roll with Bodyguard/Survivalist/SCS at all times but have been mixing it up since the SCS nerf and Barrage buff. Bountyhunter just isn't worth it at all.

Standard loadout (absolutely destroys on choke point heavy sections like Starkiller Base interior or Hoth interior):
TL50 with Cooling and Charged Shot mods (reduced recoil is overrated and doesn't stop the TL-50 from sucking outdoors. The charged shot on the other hand, is great for clearing and pressuring choke points)
Bodyguard (25% explosive reduction at Tier 4 has saved my ass so many times, especially when oblivious teammates walk in front of my impact grenade, charged shot or barrage. Plus Dioxis immunity is nice bonus for Light Side)
Barrage (Great for kills in choke points)
Resourceful (More explosions, more often).

Anti-Vehicle (Crait, Kashyyk defence, etc. I'll easily compete with AT-ST's for no.1 spot on Crait first phase with this loadout)
FWMB-10K with Auto Cooling and Ion Shot (a kind of mediocre gun but its the only heavy blaster with Ion Shot)
Bodyguard (as above. Fantastic for survivability vs vehicles but I may swap for Resourceful to maximise Torpedo dps).
Ion Torpedo
Ion Turret

Other considerations:
DC15-LE - excellent accuracy and medium range damage with the recoil and scope mods. Pairs well with the Marksman card. Possible alternative to FWMB-10K for anti-vehicle when equipped with Explosive Shot.
Marksman - Tough to get good use out of this card in MP where everyone is rolling everywhere but it works well with the accurate, rapid fire DC15-LE. It also has the undocumented benefit of resetting the heat on Sentry mod when you get headshot kills.
Survivalist - Great making up for the Heavy's slower regen but hard to justify taking a slot for it.
Improved Shield - Goes well with Marksman and DC15-LE. Great hipfire accuracy combined with the extra sustain from the shield means you can stay in the fight longer to make the most of the Marksman buffs
Explosive Sentry - This is personal preference but I feel its not worth the star card slot. Its dps is crap vs vehicles and you're even more of a sitting duck vs troopers. Plus I find that is shots clip on objects far more than the other sentry modes, making it tough to use in cluttered environments.

Patch notes are up. They are quite long so I won't quote.

https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/d...battlefront-ii-release-notes-patch-1-2#latest

Includes lots of hero balancing and a dodge nerf, among other things. Very promising, although I will note that the only thing they changed w/ Palpatine is the Aura and Lightning hitting through walls. His chain lightning heal and mobility are unchanged, and they actually buffed the range of his two handed lightning attack lol.

Boba got a huge buff from the sounds of it.

People on reddit are saying Vader's choke is nerfed into uselessness right now, maybe unintentional.

Further nerfed Blurrg.

Increased credit payouts for duplicate cards across all rarity levels

Correct BUT there's a chance the global nerf to dodging also affected his dodge.

But yes his insane health res and chain lightning heal and general mobility are untouched, and his already quite long range lightning attack has been buffed

I need to see how the Emperor pans out in action now with the LOS change; it's definitely a nerf, the question is will it be enough? The ~15% increased range on the default lightning attack is kinda whatever IMO since you have to have line of sight on them, and in most situations I don't think the additional 2 meters is going to make a difference on way or the other.

Virtually everything else here seems pretty great to be honest. Yoda's probably the best light-side hero now.
