How long does it usually take for AC games to drop in price? I cancelled my preorder because I just had too many preorders and too much backlog, and now I'm sad and want AC Origins :(

I've been eyeing this one for a while. I don't need a card for my Switch yet, but when I do I'll probably buy this one.

There are cheaper cards on Amazon but they're all off-brand crap, I don't trust them.

Also wondering if I should wait for Black Friday? It's coming soon, but then again BF pretty sucks in Canada nowadays.

There is a slightly newer model available for a few extra dollars and is a bit faster as well. Almost bought it today but didn't.

Damn, that Prey price (and I wish Wolf 2-pack) are great prices... but I promised I wouldn't spend anymore on videogames this year, I am asking for both of those for xmas... but they probably won't be that cheap around then.

Tough call

Seems the Mario Bundle is out of stock. That sucks, but I'll live.

I was going to go to TRU tomorrow to pick up a SNES Classic, but I didn't realize it was only select stores. Then I saw the tweet last night, and noticed that I'd have to drive a couple of hours to get one which isn't worth it.

Someone convince me to buy White Day for the PS4. It's on sale for $30 and still comes with the soundtrack, but I am swamped with games as is.

Wow I wanted to use that 15% off coupon to catch up on some amiibo I missed, but TRU has like nothing on their website. Just some old Splatoon and Animal Crossing ones. The only relevant one in stock is Bayonetta P1 and I already have that.

I want to support this game, I really do since Bandai Namco is actually printing disks for the game instead of selling digitally, but I can't. Got enough on my plate so I'm going to have to wait a few months for a proper sale.
Yeah.. Honestly, I was really shocked to hear that they were actually bringing a physical copy over to NA. Pleasantly surprised, of course. But .hack was one of my favourite series when I was younger. I'm super stoked! I have a bit of a massive backlog myself tbh :( But I'm putting a lot of it aside just to play this game LOL. Going to just beat Mario Odyssey real quick first, then get started.

So what do you guys think of the following? I could buy a switch from a buddy that doesn't use it, everything is CAD.

Switch, Case, Screen protector, pro controller, Zelda (physical), Mario Kart (digital) all for 500 - he's maybe used it for 10 hours.
or
Use the Toys R Us deal for 15% and buy some used games?

I'm not 100% sold on the pro controller as I've read that the JoyCons are decent.....money is tight so that might affect my decision.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a decent offer even if it didn't include the Pro controller.

The Pro controller is never essential but unless you intend on using the console strictly as a handheld only, it's a good controller to have.

Now I am getting antsy waiting for TRU to ship my Switch. I'm worried they'll revoke them for some reason.

Tried to pick up an Xbox One S for my son but the code doesn't work on that. Presumably because it's already slightly discounted.

EDIT: looks like the code will only work on Sunday. Guess it was activated too early by mistake.

That's a pretty stellar deal NGL, I would personally jump on that.

Is it normal to wait forever for amazon.ca "Marketing and Promotions team"?

My Pokemon Ultra Moon order isn't discounted properly - $2 instead of $10 - but it's been like a week and I haven't gotten any email from the Marketing and Promotions team yet.

It's an okay deal. Definite pass if you're not interested in the pro controller.

My fellow Canadians whom this may concern:

How has importing from CD Japan been for you? Were the customs really high? What shipping option would you recommend?

In all the times they told me I would hear from their marketing and promotions team I've never received an email from them. Not once. I recommend trying chat support until you get someone who will do it.

I have been buying my VGM Cds from them for like 12 + years and never had any problem.
They package items really well I always go with the EMS option which can be pretty expensive though.

I think I got hit by customs like maybe 2-3 times with them.

I am a frequent buyer on Japanese import sites, including CDJapan.

The general unwritten rule is: if you stick to slow-ass SAL shipping, and orders worth less than around $100, the chance of being hit with customs fees is near 0%. Going express shipping and/or higher value orders will increase your chances significantly.

I've ordered from them plenty of times and was never hit with custom charges. I'm located in Ontario.

I use Sal and Sal registered for cheap shipping. Packages on average arrived between 2.5 to 3 weeks. I've had a few instances where it took 4 to 5 weeks but everything I've ever bought from them arrived okay. EMS seems overpriced in my opinion. Hope this helps.

I have an Xbox One X pre-order with Best Buy, and this morning I got a fraud alert that my Visa declined a charge from them. I dismissed the alert/authorized the payment, and the fraud service thing said it was clear now and to re-do the purchase. Do I have to do anything or will Best Buy attempt to charge it again on their own?

I'd contact Bestbuy customer support to be sure.

I order from them regularly, EMS shipping something over 100$ is going to get you Taxed by customs, anything over 200$ shipped with Registered SAL or regular SAL "might" be Taxed by customs depending of how big the box is or just plain randomness.
I stick to Registered SAL for shipping ( 3 to 4 weeks to east coast) and out of the many many times I have bought from there I only got Taxed once for a 150% figure I bought

You can definitely get taxed for SAL orders over $100, it has happened to me multiple times. Still better odds than EMS though.

Also worth noting is that Registered SAL is kinda a waste because Canada Post has this stupid policy since around 2015 that they do not honour tracking on non-express international orders, so your tracking on those orders will stop once it reaches Canada.

Yeah like I said I have been taxed with SAL registered for a 150$ figure, this is a figure from a line I usually buy where all the figures cost around the same and box dimensions are the same and only once I had to pay custom charges, Canada customs is very random with this crap.
Regarding SAL registered yes, Canada Post used to offer the ability to track registered SAL packages, such a nice feature sad they decided to not support it anymore.

I don't consider it a "nice feature" so much as something that Canada Post should be legally required to do. It's completely ludicrous that they are allowed to get away with not providing full service for something we pay for.

I agree with you, in fact they still track it, they are just actively blocking the information from us, but they are still tracking it, incredible eh?
