There are so many characters on the show now and each gets so little focus that I stopped caring about anyone and the deaths have no impact anymore. At least Morgan is leaving the show at the end of the season but after his 360 degree character flip I lost interest in him. They had an interesting thing going on with him. How some someone reconcile pacificism with the way the world has become? And then they answered it with, "Meh that's too difficult. We'll make him a killer again." Same with Karen. She had a nice transition from being weak at the beginning of the series to strong, then got PTSD and became a recluse but I guess that was also too difficult to write around so they just made her a killer again too.

Damn if she ends up leaving, that's the last person I actually care about in terms of her character arc. One of the few if not the only person who has had solid development/consistent characterizations.

Her and Glenn were fantastic together and I've enjoyed seeing the direction she's gone since.. yenno.

But hopefully she moves onto bigger and better things, cuz she's a fantastic actor.

I can't wait. Definitely not ready to see Carl die but really excited to see Andrew Lincoln's performance this episode.

I love Michonne but her surpassing MAGGIE IN POPULARITY?

To be honest, of the three in that shot, it's Daryl's popularity that's the most baffling. He's done nothing interesting for how long now? Just grunts and grumbles with his hair in his face, occasionally having some fun with the crossbow shtick.

I'm not very hyped this time. But I'm interested how Morgan

is going to move to fear the walking dead. Im more interested in his side of the story.

Saw the spoilers about Rick's visions at the start of the season.

Just terrible.

Honestly don't even know if I'll be watching live at this point. I usually do.

At least it looks like everybody is mainly together and we have the whole dynamic of Carl to push some actual emotion/character development this time. Andrew Lincoln's performance is what I'll be watching for

Maybe we'll get a handful of decent episodes

Really not excited about the premiere. It's probably going to be a series of flashbacks involving Carl and everyone else until he finally dies near the end, followed by three minutes of closeups with sad music and Rick then bows for revenge.

(Haven't seen spoilers btw)

These are Gimple's final eight episodes. I wonder if they'll be remembered for better or for worse.

As much as I've come to hate this show I hope he finishes strong. I want TWD to be good again.

Been avoiding this thread all season because I've always been an episode or two behind, finally watched the mid season finale tonight and I'm really surprised they're killing Carl off.

The soundtrack is the best thing about this season though, it's usually decent with a few stand out tracks here and there but McCreary has been very consistent this season.

Cross posting a preview of tonight's episode.

"dad you can't kill negan. The realities of contract negotiations and narrative blunders have made it impossible to get rid of that character. apropos of nothing I'm just gonna say car max out loud. Don't eat that trash lady's ass. Or do. Who fucking cares."

Get hype brehs.

I had forgotten about tonight's episode, but saw it mentioned in a YouTube video and programmed my PVR. Hopefully the second half will be better than the depthless first.

They have done this cycle with nearly everyone in the show at this point. Its beyond tiring. The need to give the group something to work towards again instead of just surviving. I'll be glad to see the back of Negan too. I can't stand that character and not in the way the writers want me to. Hopefully hes dealt with relatively quicky in the second half.

i hope the rest of the season is an improvement but not holding my breath. if it sucks then i think i'm done with it until it gets cancelled and then i'll check for a list of episodes that are essential to watch. i've been watching since episode 1 of season 1 and don't want to give up on it but it's just so hard to watch. i'm more into the comics these days. i really hope they wrap up the whole negan story real quick and get to the time jump between issue 126 + 127 so we can get to
the whisperers.

Does this show keep delivering still? I saw Season 1 few years ago and liked it for what it was, and yesterday I started up Season 2, while today I'm kind of rewatching the first season to recap everything. I don't expect something that'll set a new standard, rather I kind of want it to be my casual watch where I can lay back and just watch without having to concentrate too much on a storyline. Cause I'm watching quite a few shows now that demand me to focus - like The Handmaid's Tale, The Expanse, The Americans, Legion, Stranger Things, Agents of Shield, Riverdale, Gotham, Counterpart, Black Mirror and The Good Place - so I just need it to have action, and some suspense with the folks trying to survive in different scenarios. Does The Walking Dead still deliver as well as it did in its first season? And what about Fear The Walking Dead, is it basically more of the same?

Anyone know who the guests will be on talking dead?

Also what is special about the bonus edition of the episode on at 7:30?
