Was cranking the Winter Soldier theme at work and a friend asked me if I was listening to Marilyn Manson. I think it's my favorite theme in the MCU, even more than the Avengers theme. I do have a soft spot for Ant Man though.

Hmm - interesting. I mean, there's been similar controversy in the past of various things (like the early set photos from Doctor Strange) that set people off. I don't know what is special about this leak.

It's special because people went fucking APESHIT just because A costume she was wearing was not the same color as her traditional costume lol. It was totally blown out of proportion. And Feige didn't say much, it was basically just like "trust us, we got this".

The Ragnarok director's commentary is amazing but it's even more amazing when Taika's 2 year old daughter gets on the mic.

So nearly done with my MCU rewatch, halfway through Doctor Strange and I think after rewatching I can now confidently rank the films. I will say that throughout 18 films, there's not one that I genuinely dislike. Boring/mediocre? Sure. But no film where I'd cringe at the thought of rewatching it.

"Multiple theatre viewings, binge the soundtrack, research the backgrounds of the individual characters and buy comics because of it" Tier
1. Captain America: Civil War
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Captain America: Winter Soldier
4. The Avengers
5. Black Panther
6. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
7. Thor: Ragnarok
8. Spider-Man Homecoming

"Solid, thoroughly enjoyable, look forward to in a marathon" tier
9. Captain America: The First Avenger
10. Iron Man
11. Avengers: Age of Ultron
12. Iron Man 3

"I can't wait to see these guys in a team-up/sequel that improves the flaws of the original" Tier
13. Ant-Man
14. Doctor Strange

"At least we're not Suicide Squad" tier
15. The Incredible Hulk
16. Thor
17. Thor: The Dark World
18. Iron Man 2

The top 8 are really hard to differentiate as I loved them both so much for very different things. I think it speaks to the quality of the MCU that I'd watch most of the films again without question, and also that there are so many newer films in the top 10. The franchise (franchises?) is definitely picking up steam as it goes, Phase 3 (barring Doctor Strange) has been utterly phenomenal. Hoping they stick the 18 film landing with Infinity War and we're not left disappointed, nothing so far suggests we will be!

20 years ago, if you told a movie pundit that a film with a majority-black cast, helmed by an African-American director, would likely touch a billion dollars, they'd probably laugh in your face.

I hope now that Coogler has proved to have a magic touch, he gets to have his pick of projects and works with whomever he wants. Well done, Ryan, well done, BP crew, and well done, Feige though it could have been sooner.

Has anyone noticed they keep switching between two different logos for Infinity War? There's the old one from 2014 being used in the trailers, and the newer, more comic booky one being used on all the merchandise.

I didn't realize that the guys who wrote the screenplays for the Captain America films and the next two Avengers films also wrote the screenplay for Pain & Gain.

Just... how?

Had a friend say they want to get in on the hype, or at least see what all the fuss is about for Infinity War, but they don't want to watch more than 3 or 4 movies in advance. Not much of a movie person. I told them Avengers 1, Avengers 2, Civil War, and Guardians of the Galaxy should cover everything. That sound about right? Only one I would think about getting rid of is maybe Avengers 2 and replace it with Thor Ragnarok, but I guess I am not sure. Any thoughts from you guys?

Avengers 2 shows Hulk moving away from earth or going away. So only showing 2 leaves the question where hulk goes to and why he is back in Infinity War.

Only showing Thor brings up the question why Hulk is there etc. So both have to be watched.. all movies have to be watched :J

I get what you mean, and totally right.
But the annoying twat in me wants to point out that 20 years ago not one single movie had grossed close to $1B or more WW :P
(the closest one was Jurassic Park with $914M)

I'm surprised, in a good way!

My first thought for Mark Hamill was Ego, even though the movie's done. Curious to see how he'd have played the role.
