The Animoji hype is real. Holy shit. I've sent like a dozen out to people and every single reaction was through the roof.

When people ask "yeah but what do you really need a phone that powerful for?", send them an Animoji of the dog rapping Eminem. Game. Set. Match.

I'm finding it annoying because you have to pick up your phone to point it at your face before you can see the notification. I'm used to just glancing down to see notifications. It's a neat idea but I don't think I could use it without a standing dock.

This phone is a damn dream so far. Also, between 1Password and iCloud switching phones is pretty much painless at this point.

After using this for awhile. I see why they make you swipe to unlock. It unlocks so fast from eye contact

Anyone feel like the screen isn't uniform colors? I have truetone turned on and the top half of the screen seems way whiter than the bottom half

How do I download apps? I am getting a dialog that says "Double click to install" but tapping the screen does nothing.

The web notifications are probably for Autofill. By default, Face ID will automatically log into web sites for you if you're using iCloud Keychain, but you can turn that off.

I agree on the desk stuff. Face ID isn't working at the kind of angle I'm usually checking my phone at when it's laying on the desk while I work. You have to almost have your face over the device for it to trigger. I feel like Apple wasn't quite honest on that. In general though, Face ID is so much better than Touch ID. I'm getting some lag on it though, I'll swipe up, it'll go to a "checking face" screen for about a second, and then unlock. Not every time, but maybe 20% of the time? The rest it's instantaneous. Hopefully my face isn't some weird outlier like my fingerprints were, and it'll get better over time as it learns.

ah, yup, it was a new setting. Turning that off too. Seems like a security risk to have that popping up all over the place without being user initiated

I ordered a techarmor screen protector and of course it doesnt fit...how fragile should this screen be? I can probably roll without a screen protector for a few days right?

The live photo wallpaper isn't animating on the lock screen when I touch it. Isn't it supposed to?

Was a little concerned about going from a 7 Plus to this smaller phone but it feels really good. I've also had no problems with FaceID, which is a huge plus since I had problems with TouchID at least once a day. Need more time to get used to all the gestures but they feel okay so far. I'm very happy with the phone overall.

And yea, Animojis are great. I've already sent them to a few different people.

Is there no way to make the bar at the bottom disappear when watching videos if the app isn't updated to support the X? It disappears after a few seconds in the Netflix apps, but not Crunchyroll.

Press into the screen, it animated with the 3D Touch. Faster animation for harder presses, slower reverse for lighter touches.

They need to let me unlock the phone swipe up from the middle of the screen. No reason for me to go from the bottom.

Gonna be even worse once they release a plus version of this

No. :( This is why Apple is imploring devs to update their apps for X. These are like 5 second tweaks in the code.

Did you try the low-angle method on the second faceID setup step? I was able to increase the angle it works at a little doing that. It's not huge but it helped.

Posting from the X. Loving the phone so far. Just watched a little bit of Daredevil on the Netflix app with Dolby Vision. It looks really amazing.

Was able to pick mine up at the fedex location. Whew. Almost had a heart stack when I saw I missed the truck. Phone is awesome.

After using this thing for a few hours, I honestly don't know how anyone could struggle too much to get used to the absence of the home button. I know people accustom to changes differently. But I was completely comfortable swiping up to go home and getting to the app switcher right out of the box.

If you just imagine each app as being a card you can pull out and swipe between, it all just sort of works how you want it to in your head. The screen being so responsive really goes a long way towards achieving that feel.

Yep. It's stupid and totally Apple, but there is no way to replace it without tearing the entire phone apart. The IPhone 4's back panel was so easy to remove and replace. I wish they did that again. The 4 is still the best designed iPhone to me.

Well I mean. Most other OEMs don't offer this service or Apple Care equivalent. Also 3rd party for cheaper will never match the care and quality you'll get from Apple themselves. I don't see an issue. Be careful with it and you'll be fine.
