I'm officially out both keys and energy which means I'm officially done with this Halloween boss.
I just couldn't do it. I tried every single combination out there with the units I had and took my sweet time with his HP and yet I still got destroyed in one turn after he goes nuts. This shit wasn't fun and the fact that it also take 10 years for those esper orbs to drop makes this a horrible fight.
I'm taking a break from this game after that nonsense. If all the future bosses are going to be ridiculous like that then that means I don't have the time or patience for this game.

iNichol, Ace, 100% evade Zarg, 2 Orlandu. Ace 75% light imperil and 2x DR from the Landu's made quick work of him from 60%-0%. Drained all his mp on turn 1, built up espers with normal attacks, summoned espers and continued to drain and auto till 61%. Buffed up and started dps phases, took 3 turns from 60-0. One landu died at 3%......rezzed him with the other landu, zarg used his drain skill, ace used elixir on ressed landu, iNichol redirected to Zarg. Next turn he died.

F2P and beat the Nightmare, INichol and Ilias are key for the fight, also a unit that can dualcast osmose

Tilith/WoL/Orlandu/Firion/Onion Knight/Friend Onion Knight
You should take enough damage to take him from 40% to 0% MINIMUM, its not that difficult as long as you have a good chainer, even 2 enhanced Agrias, enhanced Firion and friend Orlandu could do it.
Standard strat, auto attack him down until 60%, using both espers in the process, WoL keeps up Light is with us, Arms breaker and Embolden. Tilith was literally just there to heal, i didn't even use the break nullification since its only 20% now. Keeping his attack broken and a defence buff up is way more important.
I could only take him from 60% to about 2% with a full chain and finisher, so ended up just taking him to 40%, surviving a turn of his craziness, then finishing him off 40>0. The only danger is the single turn when you take him from 60% to 40%, you may want to consider just bouncing the client until you survive it.

I can run my 2 GLS and TT with Toxic Rain or A2 with Pod or OFC!!!, or Tidus. Going to test all of this tomorrow.

The last two phases of this story event are no joke. My A2/Orlandbro team is actually having trouble.
I wouldn't mind getting involved in a gacha game, but I'm interested in playing casually without rerolling/spending lots of money (I don't mind dropping a few dollars here and there but very minimal amounts). Is this game at all accessible playing this way?

You can get by without rerolling or spending money, I didn't reroll or spend anything yet. Though I will say if possible rerolling is still a good way to go, having a top tier unit can help out so much for so long. Rates for pulling 5 stars is pretty low and can go a long time without getting one.
Is there a good updated guide with tier lists and all that? I've found a number but I'm already afraid the stuff is out of date.
I recently pulled Aileen and if I'm not mistaken we get a 100% Trust Moogle after beating Season 1, right?
TM farming is not an option for me at the moment, so my question is:
Should I put the Moogle into Artisan to "reap some quick benefits" or would that one be wasted?

yea the accessory is really bad for the challenge you need to beat to get it. Also a little sad i have never pulled a Soleil, but have been really lucky with my rainbows lately so no complaining

We do have Discord chat too where you can ask questions and get answers usually quite fast.
Finished the Story event and used the 3 reward tickets on the current banner and only got trash. Didnt expect much aynway, so thats okay. Much more important is that im back to nearly 5K Lapis which are a must if we indeed get the guaranteed 5* banner next month.

After doing 3 steps of the step-up gacha and getting some solid pulls i was ready to call a quit on my pulls. Then i thought about it and figured that i should go for all 5 steps since im already 3 in and will get the guaranteed Banner 5* - so either Rinoa (dupe) for me or Squall (new)
Went ahead yesterday:

But now im really done with pulling, just no need for it anymore. Been playing JPN for 4 days and i have like 11 base 5* on my account. Pretty crazy.

seeing this thread made me want to retry the game, after dropping it ages ago... tutorial roll was kind to me, cuz it gave me a female red mage... for context, that's basically easiest way to bribe me... Female Red mages...
Yes, Artisan is a must for her. She simply doesn't work without it.
Plus she'll eventually get enhancements that give Piledriver a 75% earth imperil, which is still one of the highest non-lb imperils in the game in jpn. Even 7* units typically cap out at 65% imperil.
Plus, 7* Aileen's attack stat is almost unheard of with the right gear. Artisan is of course mandatory for this. I really hope I get a dupe of her before 7*s come out.

Do you have dual wield? You really need it. It's a basic trust mastery that becomes practically mandatory but you're a long ways off Gumi adding it to Moogle King events the way Alim has done.

Damn, couldn't finish the last story boss with Bahamut. He only went down to 23% turn 1. Well I was probably going to run it again anyway. People were saying he's rough? His first turn he barely touched me, and he doesn't seem to have threshold attacks. What makes him so hard?

I think latest raid after the first week I still farmed it but sold every raid coins and that gave me 15 millions.
When are we due a new raid? 9 times out of 10 I usually really enjoy them. I like that they have their own type of NRG.

That Ariana event is interesting, according to the leaks there was also going to be a healer Ariana as a gacha summon, presumably non-free. Which according to the leaks was suppose to be 11/17-11/23, the Thanksgiving week, right before Black Friday.
While I'm not in the demographics of Ariana Grande, I am still interested how good a healer she will be. Especially as Ayaka was just released and CG Sakura only a few months away. To Gumi, getting the Ariana Grande brand is clearly a big deal, I would assume they would make her pretty powerful for a non-free unit.
If Charming Kitty Ariana ends up being a better healer than Ayaka and S2 Fina I think I'd just laugh. Or barf. Maybe both.
Who do you guys think is the best unit to put Raven Cloak on in order to maximize your chance of drops? I use it on my Locke and take him and Xon with me.
But I was wondering maybe its better to put it on Xon and leave Locke out, or maybe its better to put it on another unit entirely.

Reddit testing suggests that Locke, Pod 153 and Pirate Jake do nothing for story event drops because the drop pool they affect ("common") is already 100% on story events, unlike Chamber, where the rates are not 100%.
Only Xon and Raven's Cape work on the "rare" pool. It should not matter who you put the Cape on. I put mine on Xon and share him with a Pod for Mirage chaining, though Rikku's Pouch for Chaos Grenade would work too.

Once again Gumi just can't pace these story events properly. You can auto your way through all of them until they suddenly become challenging on the final two. No gradual increase in difficulty, just a straight up difficulty spike.
"Defeat a Red Roper with magic". Okay, what fucking counts as magic? Because I was using Adawg's Emperor with +2 enhanced Fire From Below which very clearly hit the Roper and did most of the damage to take him to 0. Didn't count, missed my ticket.

- Jackpot Shot (LB) - Magic Damage
- Tri Beam - Magic Damage

Just took Zera's TT through again to beat the Red Roper, used Chaos Wave a couple of times, got it to 0, realised immediately I hadn't used Black Magic and force closed the game.
Luckily managed to save it and instead Dual-Casted Ultima a few times. Gumi really need to specify 'use BLACK MAGIC'.

Nice save lol. I agree this needs to be better detailed. I have ring of the lucii on her so she can chain finish as well with dual cast alterna

I hope my Tidus can be as useful when his enhancements role out. I have all the crysts saved up for it, but no where near the required amount of Gil.
